There exist two network topologies, namely: Physical network and Logical networks that
physical network has a part that is responsible for connecting two or several network devices.
This important portion is referred to as a logical network. A physical network is always linked to
a logical network and that is what supports the exchange of buckets of information. Logical and
physical network diagrams are always key in developing information technology structures.
They help the necessary admins to main the security of the network, avoid overflow of
information, minimize downtime of information, and even in often cases they help in
troubleshooting. In this paper, I will discuss the layout of a logical network and explain
A logical network diagram is used to represent the continuous flow of information in any
system. For it to be considered a viable diagram it has to include several elements. These
elements are subnetwork masks, domains used for routing, appropriate routing protocols, various
segments, firewalls, routers, and even voice gateways. The diagram has to show how the various
viable diagram has various important uses which include the following:
Setting up firewalls.
Firewalls are the barriers that sit between a private network and the public. They aim at
removing malware attacks to the system by generally blocking the malware. They also carry out
assessments on the network to find the most vulnerable section and work to restore its security.
A logical diagram plays a part in ensuring that the instructions and rules bases of the firewalls
Troubleshooting.
This is a planned step-step approach to an issue and usually aims at resolving an issue in
the system. If an issue occurs in the network or service between two devices is compromised, a
logical diagram can be used to separate various issues resulting from the firewall and help fix the
problem. A logical diagram can also be helpful in the event where one needs to share or put
across info concerning their networks. A diagram helps people visualize the system for better
understanding but also helps in making sure that physical information about the network remains
hidden. A logical diagram will also give out information on what part of the system is redundant
and not helpful and what is not. A logical network diagram plays an important role in showing
components and how various devices interact (Barton, 2019). They can also be used to illustrate
In conclusion, network diagrams are the central piece whenever one needs to do a
maintenance change on their system. These changes might be minimal involving the various

devices on the network or hugely important concerning the network. A network diagram will be
used to understand how the network information will flow through these new ones. Net diagrams
are an important component when it comes to matters concerning compliance. During auditing,
many auditors always insist on seeing an accurately documented network topology. they always
need to see how the various devices are linked on the network. When developing the diagram,
