PROPOSAL
Topic: SOIL STABILIZATION
Title: EFFECTIVENESS OF PLASTIC WASTE BOTTLES AS SOIL
STABILIZER IN LOCAL ROAD WITH SOIL PROBLEMS
General Objectives:
Nowadays several engineers encountered difficulties in finding sustainable
construction in roads. Soil problems are the most common. Thus, stabilizing the soil in building construction is very significant specially in the road to eliminate hassle and incidents across the national highways or in local roads due to some poor or unstable soil. Soil stabilization is defined as chemical or physical treatments which increase or maintain the stability of a soil or improve its engineering properties. Using plastic waste fibers will improve the strength of soils. This method will result in better and longer lasting structures with increased loading capacity. Lastly, using plastic bottles as a soil stabilizer is an economical utilization since there is scarcity of good quality soil for embankments.
Specific Objectives:
To identify the specific soil problems in Brgy. Mat.i, Surigao City.
To conduct a narrow experiment using plastic waste bottles as soil stabilizer for local road in Brgy. Mat.i, Surigao city with soil problems. To find out the effectiveness of plastic waste bottles as soil stabilizer in local roads.
