)’s structure

1. Organizational structure
HP Inc. operates a functional structure. This structure is constructed considerately in
order to control authority, communication and dividing responsible aspects to achieve
their goals. This form of structure allows HP to departmentalize their work effectively on
each stages of the products, especially on product development, innovation, and
marketing.

2. Management structure
HP has been applying the centralized system for decision-making authority in the hands
of their leaders. To be more specific, the company holds centralization on to the R&D
and corporate strategy functions (cited in Hill & Jones, 2009). This approach makes it
possible for HP to develop an integrated suite of their products and services. HP targets
the similar groups of customer: small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) and large
enterprises, including customers in government, corporate, health and education sectors.
Therefore, using centralized system is crucial in order to keep different products close
together and bring more benefit to HP’s clients. Also, by getting the best out of existing
relationships and the technology base installation at the company’s customers, better
results can be seen by the company.
HP is running an open communication strategy in order that they can avoid most of
communication issues. There are all-employee meetings and management blogs; the
company’s managers are quick in respond to every problems as soon as they occur. There
is also a corporate intranet designed to ensure the efficient flow of infomation among
departments and between geographical units.
