Configuration and Operating Procedure

Bar Code Scanner

Delta

The Delta analyzer can be configured to operate with a bar code scanner for imputing data into test info fields.
This procedure will guide you through the installation, configuration and use of the bar code scanner.

Scanner
Baracoda, D-Fly, bar code scanner, P/N: B40120001

Software
The required software (BaracodaManager-v3-36-3-for-Standard-platforms-CE5-0_1794.CAB) can be found at the
following location - \\wayback\Manufacturing\Production\PRODUCTION RELEASED SOFTWARE\Delta\Bar Code Scanner

Installation
PC
Connect the Delta analyzer to a PC via active-sync
Select Explore on active-sync – the root folder of the instrument will be displayed in an active-sync dialog
Copy the self-extracting cab file listed above to the root folder of the Delta in the active-sync dialog
Delta
Exit the Innov-X app on the Delta, by selecting Home, Setup and Exit and yes on the decisional dialog – the shell (shown
below) will be displayed

Exit Shell, by selecting the windows icon in the lower right hand corner (shown above)
From the desktop of the instrument, select start, programs, windows explorer (shown below)
Search for the BaracodaManager file that you copied to the root folder (shown below)

Double-click the BaracodaManager and the following dialog will be displayed – Note: default installation folder is Windows

Select OK on the above dialog to install the software in the Windows folder
Select OK on the above informational dialog – the bar code scanner SW will be installed

Configuration & Setup


Note: Make sure the bar code scanner is connected to AC or completely charged
The Baracoda installer will create a desktop program icon as shown below

Double-click the BaracodaManager desktop shortcut and the Baracoda Manager (shown below) will be displayed
Press and release the scan button on the top of the scanner and select the search button on the Baracoda
Manager dialog shown above

Note: If the Baracoda requests a PIN number, please enter 0000 (zero zero zero zero)

The bar code scanner should be found and added to the devices in range field (shown below)

Select the add button on the Baracoda manager and the autoconnect option
Select the plugin button and select the KEmul.exe option and then select to close the Baracoda Manager (shown below)

Usage
On the Delta, start the Innov-X application, select Home, Mode, then Mode Setup
Select Test Labeling to display the following screen
Click inside one of the value fields, select cancel on the pop-up keyboard to dismiss it

Using the scanner, scan the sample bar code shown below or one of your own – the scanned value should be placed in
the previously selected test info field (shown below) and the test info screen will close

If the scanned value appears in the selected test info field, your bar code scanner and Delta analyzer are properly paired
and working correctly

Disconnect
A bar code scanner can be connected to and operated with only one instrument at a time
To disconnect the bar code scanner from an instrument, unselect the autoconnect option and select Exit
Uninstall
Exit the Innov-X app and the shell
Select Start, Settings, Control Panel
Select Remove Programs and the following screen will be displayed

Select the Baracoda entry, select the Remove option and select yes on the informational dialog
Once the program is removed, it will be removed from the above list
