The Translator

For the background music that was in front when rachel was fascinated by the arrival
of ben who entered the library. There the music played was Christian spiritual music with the
title hallelujah. With a comedy genre drama, I think it doesn’t connect. But again, western
movies or jokes like that, but everything from the side of the film is good

Alternative Math

This movie is satire. Most parents don’t hit teachers or make a scene because of 2+2.
It’s a joke, of course. But it’s one that’s intended to illustrate a higher truth. It’s an allegory of
our current attitude towards science, one that is using humor to instruct.

The Mother

This film is full of emotions that made me immersed in the story, with a good acting
disposition plus music with sad lyrics very supportive in some scenes. For shooting and
lighting is perfect. For the ending, this film is predictable. And there is a scene that I think is
lacking and should be explained, what is the cause of Lucy’s parents fighting until her mother
wants to live with her for a while

The Translator

The film is played by 3 students, namely Rachel, Ben, and Claire. Rachel who has a
tough nature to Claire because of jealousy, but in the end she kindly relents and tells Claire that
Ben really likes her. Ben is a smart student and Claire is an innocent. I think this film is funny
and very entertaining for people who watch it because it can make people laugh with its
behavior. In addition to entertaining this film, there are lessons we can take, namely teaching
us to always be honest when someone asks for help so as not to cause misunderstandings.

Alternative Math

This film deals with today’s life, especially in the field of education. The case of a
student who listens to his teacher if 2+2= 4. He thinks that 2+2=22. Obviously this is a joke.
Overall, this short film is a very good film. Perhaps this film is one of the best reasons to see
alternative math, a film with heart, humanity and humor, as well as a deeper physiological
undertone.

The Mother

This film is easy to understand, because this often happens in today’s society. Children
are now more busy with their cellphones & laptops, even though they are gathering with family.
Lack of communication between family and children. Lack of respect for time with family,
because they are busy with their respective jobs. Rarely meet so forget the family. If there is a
very serious problem that occurs in the end, you will only feel sorry for not taking advantage
of and respecting the time you have.

The Translator

Plot : In the short video there are three teenagers, namely Rachel, Ben, and Claire. Rachel and
Ben are friends who have a geometry group assignment to work on together. Rachel likes Ben
but Ben doesn’t like Rachel. When in a room Rachel and Ben chatted with each other. And
there was Claire who was reading a book. Claire is a Frenchman doing exchange students in
America. Ben has a crush on Claire, and wants to introduce her to Claire but Ben doesn’t speak
french so he needs an interpreter. Rachel helps Ben to translate French. When translating
french, Rachel spoke not what Claire had said. This makes Claire angry because she thinks Ben
is an idiot and Claire slaps Ben. Then Rachel told Ben that she admitted to translating the words
that Claire and Ben didn’t match. At that time Rachel apologized to Claire so that Claire could
give Ben a second chance. Then Claire told Rachel that she was an exchange student who also
spoke English. Knowing this Rachel thought the French were jerks.

The moral value : The moral value of the short film is that when we are asked by someone else
to translate a language, we must translate according to the spoken word and don’t lie. Because
it is not necessarily the person who hears the language we are translating actually understands
the original language before it is translated.

Characteristic : Rachel’s character is flirtatious, and a liar.Ben’s character is handsome.

I think this is a really cute short film with a good story. The cast does acting really well with
Appropriate roles and the film dialogues were well written. I like the setting and the music as
well. This is a good short comedy.

The Mother

Plot : The short film tells the story of a child and a mother. Suddenly the mother came to her
child’s house because she had a problem with her husband and the mother wanted to stay with
her child for a while. The son agreed but the boy told his mother to speak nicely to his father
about the problem. One day the mother made her child’s favorite noodle but the child did not
want to eat it because he was still busy with his work. And the child always leaves his parents
at home alone. The child invites to do something with his mother when he has free time. When
the son came home from work suddenly saw his mother lying on the floor unconscious. Then
he took his mother to the doctor. Then the son found out that his mother had passed away and
he regretted that he had not accompanied his mother while she was still alive.

In my opinion, after I saw the video, the mother in the film had a disease because it was seen
from her pale face and there was a scene when she was cleaning the house her son suddenly
fainted. Then the mother only had a week to live. So he went to his son’s house so he could
play with his son. But the son did not know his mother’s illness and he was busy with his work
and friends. This made the mother feel sad. When the end of the short film made me cry because
the mother in the film died. And the saddest thing is when a child reads a letter from his mother.
And the child in the film feels guilty because he is so busy with his work and friends that he
doesn’t pay attention to his mother.

Acting : The acting of these players is very good and lives up to the characters that are
delivered. The moral value of the story can be easily understood by me without using too much
dialogue. The storyline of the film is very good, emotional, and moving to the heart.

The moral value : The moral of the film is to teach us to love our parents. Even though we are
busy towards work and also our friends. We also have to look at the condition of the parents.
Don't let us waste our parents while they are still alive if this happens it will surely make us
regret it in the future.

Alternative Math

In the alternative math movie, we can see that there is a joke in math like 2+2 the result is 22.
In that film, I don’t like Denny’s parents and the principal who don’t support the truth of
mathematics. They claim there is more than one answer to any question. And the school board
stepped in and fired the teachers instead of supporting her for his academic integrity. The
problem got worse after the media blew it up, she was fired. But there is a happy ending and a
funny twist at the end to make you smile, when the principle of calculating the salary for Mrs.
Well in front of the media, “That’s $2,000 for your last pay period, and $2,000 for this one, so
that’s $4,000” says the principle. Then Mrs. Well said, “Wrong, it’s $22,000. ”
