RECTO (Week 3 English Vs Mathematics)

The document compares and contrasts the building blocks of English and mathematics. In English, nouns are used to form thoughts and sentences can be true, false, or sometimes true/false depending on the information. Similarly, mathematics uses numbers and symbols to form equations that can be true, false, or conditional. Examples of true, false, and sometimes true statements are provided for both English sentences and mathematical equations.

WEEK #3: ENGLISH VS MATHEMATICS

The table above shows two different subjects, English and Mathematics and the
both of them have different categories that helps in order to build or construct a
sentence or equation.

The English has a noun which is used to identify a class of people, places, things
etc. You will also use these nouns and combine it to other words to form a complete
thought, but there are also true and false sentences, which means that if the sentence
in true, the information in it is real and right, while if it is false, it means that it is still
a sentence but some parts of it are wrong. There is also the sometimes true or false
which means that it is not true or false or the time and it depends on the situation.
Examples:
True: The name Carol and the word cat both has letter “A” as the second letter as
you spell it.
False: The name Carol is composed of only two letters.
Sometimes True/False: The name Carol is a name of a girl.

The same principles also applies in Mathematics, it just not uses words, instead
it uses numbers and symbols to form its own sentence or equation.
Examples:
True: 3 x 3 = 9
False: 3 + 5 = 9
Sometimes True/False: x = 9
