CADD Hints

This document provides instructions for various CAD commands and functions: 1. It outlines commands for editing objects like erasing, moving, fitting to screen, selecting groups of objects, and deleting all objects. 2. Dimensioning and geometric construction techniques are described like tangent lines between circles, intersecting circles, and rounded corners. 3. Additional commands covered include layers, copying, rotating, arrays, fillets, offsets, text insertion, and working with blocks and views. 4. Advanced topics such as measuring objects, setting units, aligning objects, adding attributes, exploding blocks, and making isometric drawings are also summarized.

then TAN enter then specify the point on second circle) you can get a tangent connecting two circle

TTR – tangent to radius – a circle that connects another two circle (C enter then TTR enter select
points on two circle then enter then give radius of new circle)

Under dimension select linear, then type CEN of then select centre point of circle then again type
CEN of then select midpoint of another circle

CP – copy

RO – rotate

F enter then R enter to round up the corners of triangle – then specify the radius value
F enter then r enter then specify the radius then P enter, this make all the corners to be round
edges. Note the rectangle should be in poly line

Use the same procedure to FILLET but specify the R as 0 then two lines will intersect sharply,
whatever the angle of the line it may be (just to connect two line end point)

CHP – caper press enter then D to specify the distance of chop (slant line which cuts the corner of
triangle)

AR – ARARY

F – FILLET

OFFSET to make copies

C enter then int of then specify centre point of circle then radius- this used to make circle that
intersects at any two lines

Qua of – to measure a place inside circle from a flat surface to circumference (under linear
dimension)

TEXT - to include text

LA -LAYER – to make difference for text, object, dims [LA enter]
