TASK PERFORMANCE
IN
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTING

1.Cite the detailed steps to perform file backup on your phone. You may add screenshots to support
your answer. (20 points)

 Back up iPhone

You can back up iPhone using iCloud or your computer.

a.) Back up iPhone using iCloud

Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.

b.)Turn on iCloud Backup.

iCloud automatically backs up your iPhone daily when

iPhone is connected to power, locked, and connected to
Wi-Fi.

Note: On models that support 5G, your carrier may give

you the option to back up iPhone using your cellular
network. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup, the turn on or off Backup Over Cellular.

c.)To perform a manual backup, tap Back Up Now.

To view your iCloud backups, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups. To
delete a backup, choose a backup from the list, then tap Delete Backup.

Note: If you turn on an iCloud feature (such as iCloud Photos or Contacts) in Settings > [your name] >
iCloud, its information is stored in iCloud. Because the information is automatically kept up to date on all
your devices, it’s not included in your iCloud backup.
 Back up iPhone using your Windows PC

a.)Connect iPhone and your computer with a cable.

b.)In the iTunes app on your PC, click the

iPhone button near the top left of the
iTunes window.

c.)Click Summary.

d.)Click Back Up Now (below Backups).

e.)To encrypt your backups, select “Encrypt

local backup,” type a password, then click Set Password.

To see the backups stored on your computer, choose Edit > Preferences, then click Devices. Encrypted
backups have a lock icon in the list of backups.

Note: You can also connect iPhone to your computer wirelessly if you set up Wi-Fi syncing.

2. Assuming you are to perform file backup on your phone, which folders/files would you back up? Why?
(10 points)

- I think I will back up the photos, notes, and contacts because it is important to me to back up
these 3, and also there are so many pictures and contacts that I need so that I would back up them and I
can transfer them it to new device.

3.Regarding the files you did not choose to back up, why did you exclude them? (5 points)

- I exclude them because I know I can bring them back and they can still be downloaded like
applications.

4.How often would you perform a file backup? (5 points)

- Once I set up my iCloud account and chosen the right storage plan for my needs, I want to
enable iCloud backups for my iPhone. When it's enabled, my device will automatically back up data
every 24-hours when it is plugged in to a power source and connected to wi-fi.
