The purpose of this document is to detail data migration Approach, Process, Methodology which will be
adopted for Data migration to T24.

The scope of this document is limited to the activities specific for Data Migration only.

1. Introduction
This document outlines the Data migration Approach, Process and Methodology that would be
adopted in Client System to T24. The define approach is achieved in a smooth and accurate
manner with minimal upheaval to the business. This document is prepared by Temenos based on
best practices from different T24 implementation sites.

2. Data Migration Process


Temenos Data Migration (TDM) follows industry standard process of Extraction, Transformation and
loading (ETL) process for migrating data from client system to T24. The industry standard
processes are perfected based on TDM past experience and best practice from other
implementation sites to meets the migration requirement for T24.

ETL process is divided into three stages namely

1. Preparation - focusing on mapping client system information and T24 and developing Data
Extraction Program

2. Execution – Creating staging area, Data Transformation and cleansing

3. Control – Loading data into T24.

Critical aspect of each stage are

1. Preparation – understanding & adopting Migration strategy based on T24 product


functionality.

2. Execution – Identifying, creating staging area, applying transformation and data cleansing
rules.

3. Control – Data preparation as per T24 required standards.

3. Data Migration Approach
T24 system based Approach

T24 base approach of mapping all client system information against T24. This approach will bring all
mandatory information required for T24 and Eliminating unwanted client system data during system
transformation process.

Based on the mapped information client system extraction logic, creating staging area, applying
transformation rules should be taken care. All data should be prepared in form of a flat file (data file)
as per T24 require format.

Data Mapping Process

Mapping of client system information will be carried out in stages

1. Mapping all core fields

2. Local development application and fields will be mapped based on system availability.

4. Data Migration Methodology
Temenos recommends a stage wise Data Migration Methodology. This will help measuring and
achieving project milestones. Following are propose data migration stages.

1. Kick off
a. Designing Data Migration Approach, Process, Load Design
b. Data Migration Project Planning
c. Discussing T24 modulewise Migration strategy and applying to business.
2. Mapping
a. Mapping Client system information to T24
b. Define Data Extraction from T24 for reconciliation
3. Data Preparation
a. Defining data extraction methodology from client system
b. Creating Staging area and Data transformation program
c. Preparing Datafile as per T24 requirement.
4. Testing
a. Testing data at different software stage.
5. Switchover
a. Designing switchover strategy and reconciliation.
