WHAT’S NEW
1. What is a career?

Careers are more long-term and are about learning, gaining experience,
building connections, and putting yourself in the right position for promotions
and raise. It is the variety of experiences you have had throughout your life. As
you gain more experience in the world of work and life, a person will develop his
career. Your professional history takes into account your education, training, and
paid or unpaid work. It also covers your family and life roles, activities,
volunteering, community involvement, and more.

2. The difference between a job and career?

A job is a task where you invest your skills and time to earn money. It is
the activity that you're doing in the present. On the other hand, a career is a
series of jobs that you have done. It is the occupation carried by a person in his
entire life pursuing his goals.

1. What is your considerations/criteria in choosing a career? Who are the significant

people to you on the career that you have picked to include?

In my grade 10, there’s this one program held by DOST in our school. I
happened to join that, and I learned there that in choosing a job, it is important
to know its demand/trend in the future. I added that knowledge to my list, in
choosing my career I always consider my interest, personality, life role and the
opportunity of one particular career. Considering these several factors will help
me choose the one stuff that suited for me. I will always choose a specific career
that I love doing.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

Directions: Make a 300 words essay about the following processing question as a
reflection on your dreams, goals and aspiration for the future, write your answer on a
separate paper:
Where will you be ten years from now?

As you travel through life, you will learn many things. You will know a lot of things
that he can help you with your growth. You often compete with yourself in fulfilling your
dream, but that's okay because that's part of life. Growing up is one of the most
challenging things a person can experience in his life. Growing up you have many things
to realize, you have many people to avoid so that you can move forward in what you do
in your life towards the path that is right for you.

As we get older, we learn to know what we want to fulfill. 10 years from now, I want
to look in the mirror and see that I am a successful person. There is enough money for
my family and myself. I wish, when I want to help someone, I can help without thinking
about the value. I love to see it, I'm already working for my family. I don't want to see
my parents’ taking responsibility. I would wish to more have matured almost my outlook
on life, learned from mistakes, and become a more self-disciplined man. Living in the
world is scary but you have a lot to learn. No matter how hard, I wish I would not give
up fighting and keep up with the hardships of life. I want, after a lot of time, to set my
goal in life in something new because only then will I know that I have fulfilled my
dreams.

It's nice to think that you have fulfilled your dreams, but let's not forget that what
we do in the present will reflect what will happen to us in the future. Losing a person in
our lives is only part of our life in the world. Let us not be afraid to lose them because
we cannot move forward when we think of the things that keep pulling us.
