Genetics: The Science of Heredity and Variation

Step 1: Identifying Objectives

•Define the science of Genetics.

•Trace the historical development of the science of Genetics

•Demonstrate applications of Genetics to human life

•Recognize the importance of Genetics in various fields of applied science such

as Agriculture, Industry, Medical Science and Animal Science.

Step 3: Reviewing Shared Multimedia Presentations.

•The shared multimedia presentation was a big help for us to learn abstract and difficult concepts of
Genetics more easily. By providing the photos and hyperlinks, our teacher was able to share the
information effectively about Genetic Engineering, DNA, and the different techniques and examples. It
trained us regardless of distance between us. The use of a good mix of text and graphics, it increased
our interest because of a more engaging visual learning. The photos used are conceptually relevant
which is helpful for us to understand the information better. By clicking on a hyperlink that connects to
further relevant material or a wide-range content, and viewing the photos as guide for the text
information, results in increased attention levels and meaningful absorption of the information
presented and a better retention of the lesson.

Step 4: Preparing for the Review Report

•-On the presentation, the topic was clearly stated. The topic was understood properly because the
teacher provides key words, concepts, and images to enhance the presentation. The images provided
corresponds to the information on the topic to make sure that the ideas the teacher wants his students
to visualize. Also, the teacher uses a dark background with a light typeface which makes it visible enough
and easy to read. The teacher also, uses brief points instead of long sentences or paragraphs and
outline keypoints rather than transcribing the lecture.

A. Are the contents supported by research?

-Yes, The contents of the presentation are supported by research It can be validated through checking of
the references given. Aside from checking references, it can be validated by assessing the credibility of
the website where references came from.

B. Are the contents logically organized?

-Yes. The contents are logically organized because it is presented in a spiral progression way in which
the basic facts and informations was introduced first, just like definition of terms before introducing a
more detailed topics or contents.

C. Did the presentations highlight the key points?


-Yes. Using the visual cues and textual cues, the important key points were highlighted. Using a different
font color for the title was also helpful to cite the main terms, and the concept and important ideas
were presented clearly in each slide with the help of the photos.

D. Are all the references cited properly?

--Yes, the references are cited properly wherein it models proper citation for the students.

E. Are the languages used appropriate to the age d experience?

-Yes, the language used in a presentation is appropriate to the age and experience of the audience.

F. Is there an opportunity for the audience to participate in the presentation?

-Yes, there are questions along the presentation which gives opportunity for the audience to participate
and answer it. The answer for those questions are soon reveal as the presentation progresses.

G. Did the presentations follow appropriate design?

-Yes, the presentor used a wonderful design choice and an eye catching transitions for the slides that
gives the viewers more trills and excitement to eagerly learn more about the topic.
