so much during this process, not only from academic aspect but also from the aspect of

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Digital communication means electronic transmission of information that has been

encoded digitally. Along with the advancement of technology, the change in face to
face communication has also changed to digital communication. This has facilitated
the occurrence of long distance communication especially when faced with the
situation of covid-19 that is plaguing the country. The advances in information
technology have also opened up opportunities for digital communication has become
increasingly widespread in its use. Digital communication is also able to connect
different people to connect with each other from all over the world and can add new
contacts among themselves. However, we must control the use of this digital
communication so as not to affect the activities of our daily lives. This can prevent
face to face communication can also still be applied in our daily lives. Digital
communication has many benefits, especially when the country is facing a covid-19
situation that has a profound impact on the people and even on the country as well.
We are advised to maintain distance from each other, work from home, and wear
face masks when in public, frequent hand washing and so on. This has encouraged
us to apply digital communication in our daily lives. The advantage gained is that we
can learn how to use digital communication in helping us to communicate with each
other more easily and quickly. Finally, although digital communication has many
benefits for us, we must control its use so that face to face communication is still a
practice that we must not forget to ensure a better life.

Example of Inappropriate Digital Communication

 Creating Facebook pages with enough information for anyone to contact us

easily.
 Cyber-bullying students through e-mails, blogs, and other social networking
sources.
 Insisting on video-conferencing with someone at work.
 Posting pictures or video of others without asking permission.

Example of Appropriate Digital Communication

 Creating Facebook pages that do not contain personal information that would
allow someone to contact you easily.
 Use of cell phone for text messaging and talking to people only at appropriate
times of the day.
 Personal blogs and wikis should be shared only with family and friends.
 Obtain permission from others before posting their pictures or videos.

2.0 CHOSEN ELEMENT EXPLANATION

We chose the acting element in the title of our assignment to foster awareness and
understanding of digital usage among digital citizens. In the acting we bring, we have
shown how to communicate through social networking using messages, Microsoft
teams, Instagram and email. This is because, digital citizen refers to a person who
has the knowledge and skills to effectively use digital technologies to communicate
with others, participate in society and create and consume digital content.
Regardless of young or old, the use of digital communication should be emphasized
because it can have a bad influence if we are negligent in using it, especially in social
networking. Therefore, good use in digital communication needs to be nurtured from
an early age so that they will be more careful and always sensitive in whatever they
do in digital communication. We also hope that what we convey through this acting
can foster awareness and understanding among Net citizen.

4.0 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, according to an article by Computer Hope, digital communication is

any exchange of data that transmits the data in a digital form. We use digital to send
or receive any information in any sources. The population of using digital in this 21st
century has increasingly risen. There are so many types of digital to communicate
that people use such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and many more.
Unfortunately, many people still do not know the appropriate way of using digital to
communicate. We use many types of digital devices in our own videos. We are living
in the era where technologies have become an essential part of our life. With digital
devices, we can communicate with people effectively. 

Nowadays, with the COVID-19 outbreak that spread to all around the world has
affected many countries until today. Because of the pandemic, people need to take
some precautions of facing the pandemic. People need to keep their distance with
others, wear masks if they are going outside of their houses to any public places and
always sanitize themselves. Thus, technology has become an essential part of
people's lives because of the pandemic. They need to keep using digital devices to
contact other people or students need to use any digital devices to have online
classes. 

Digital devices work even if you want to call or message people who are living far
from you. Every technology has its pros and cons. Even there are some
disadvantages that digital communication brings to you, but still there are a lot of
benefits of digital communication. We have shown some benefits of digital
communication throughout our own videos. We use many platforms such as Google
Meet, messages, Instagram and many more to show the advantages of digital
communication. So, it helps people to understand more about the benefits of digital
communication. Even if we are living far from our friends, we are still able to contact
our friends by using any digital devices. 

Digital communication has made our life easier as we can communicate with other
people effectively.  Now, everyone can communicate with people all around the world

without any boundaries. We have no problem in making friends from all around the
world if we use digital to communicate. We also do not have a problem receiving
information from other people even if they are living far from us. Students can have
an online class and teachers or lecturers can teach students by using any digital
platform even if they do not have any physical contacts with the students. 

We assume that digital communication will continue to become an essential part of

people's lives in the future. The growth of the technology has increasingly risen. We
can see that now more people have put their energy and thinking skills for the
developments of technology. This is because there are a lot of people that believe
technology makes their lives become easier, better and faster. There are a lot of new
innovations in order to make technology become simpler for people. However, there
are still some people who don't know the right ways to use the technology. Thus, we
have shown appropriate ways of using digital devices to communicate. Hope that
people can learn how to use the technology in the right ways and will give us so
many benefits for ourselves.
