Please be as expressive and genuine as possible in answering the following questions

We need to know your story. Describe everything in detail. Answer honestly.

Name of the student:

1. List out the universities and courses that you intend to apply for (mention sub-areas of
interests too).
(If you haven’t shortlisted the universities yet, that’s fine)

Course: MBA

Country: Australia

Universities: Monash Macquarie

Preferred Intake: Fall 2022

Sub-areas of interest: What are the topics you intend to study? (You can refer to the
university's course curriculum) –

2. Describe the reason/motivation to pursue the Master’s program. Please make it clear
and explain in detail. (Think, is there any personal story attached to this, any specific
instance that you can recall)

I am currently working in JSW Steel Ltd as Assistant Manager. I look after digitalization,
which involves the upgrading of systems/equipment with the use of digital technology to
eradicate monotonous and repetitive tasks. While interacting with people at top positions,
especially from finance and commercial departments, I was intrigued by their business
acumen and their decision making skill. I understood that not only do I need specialized
knowledge but also require an exhaustive theoretical understanding of the entire gamut of
business on which I can thereafter build a career in this field. MBA will equip me with the
necessary knowledge and exposure to navigate this complex landscape. Moreover, the
critical-reasoning and strategic skills that I will acquire through this program will add value
to my current skill set.

4. Describe your educational journey so far, right from school to the last acquired degree.
(Graduation:- Why did you choose the particular stream) It is important that you
highlight your accomplishments as well. Mention some noteworthy extracurricular
activities.
I did my 10th and 12th from Sainik School, Bijapur (A School by Ministry of Defence).

My GPA in 10th grade is 9.8 and I secured 78% in my 12th grade.

I then pursued my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology,

Bangalore.

I graduated with a CGPA of 9.01. I also interned at two of the most esteemed Indian Government owned
organizations during this period.

The first one was from India's top college, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where I worked in close
quarters at the aerospace department with the team working to design nozzle for asymmetric
hypersonic wind tunnels.

The second was from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), where I had the chance to observe assembly
and testing of Aircraft engines at the engine division.

5. Pick 1 or 2 major projects or accomplishments during your education and explain how
you excelled at those tasks. Detailed description about internships and Projects are
required as to what were the challenges and learning from them. (Note: Don’t mention
just the titles but describe it in detail)
I was a student with a very consistent performance during my engineering with a GPA of around
9 in every semester. During my final year, I worked on the project "Production and
characterization of bio-diesel using cottonseed oil" with my group. Here we found alternative
substitutes for diesel and its results were matching the efficiency of diesel with low emissions
which reduced the pollution to significant levels if adopted along with a slight modification in
the design of exhaust in vehicles.

While interning at HAL, I found being around the aircraft engines and learning about them very
fascinating. I was lucky enough to witness a product teardown first hand while the maintenance
of the aircraft engines were being done. The mere complexity of these engines got me excited
enough to learn about them and share this knowledge to my peers as well. With the same
thought brewing in mind, I presented a seminar on "Types of Turbo Engines and their working"
at my college.
I would also participate in almost every seminar hosted by my college, wherein eminent industry
executives would be invited to share their professional knowledge and perspectives pertaining
to the latest developments in the industrial sector.
Here I learnt how to handle a group and also assign different roles and responsibilities to
my peers.I also learnt that we need to be patient while doing a project because being in
hurry could lead to disasters in case of using cottonseed oil as alternative.

feel is worth mentioning.
(Is there anyone in your family who is in the same field? Who inspires you? Is there any
story worth mentioning?)

I am Sagar, I am from Gangavati which is near the UNESCO heritage sight HAMPI.

My mother is First Divisional Clerk in agricultural department Karnataka. Being in government sector
she has taught me discipline and time management from my childhood.

and responsibilities. Again, highlight your accomplishments and outstanding
performance (rewards and recognitions) and how have you linked your job with your
career objectives (both short term and long term). What are skills you have gained in

At JSW Steel Ltd, I started off by working in the Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) with the team to plan
& execute the commissioning of the Furnace alongside Danieli as a project manager.

I have had 3 roles at JSW.

1.Project manager-I was at site setting huge plant with more than 200 people and looking together more
than 5 vendors.

What I learnt here was how to deal with huge team and assign different work responsibilities and
assignments to people.

*)How to resolve conflicts on site without taking sides, taking best decisions possible.

2) I was a part of core digitalization team consisting of 4 members and had to coordinate with more than
80 people in different departments.

I was involved in identifying value generating opportunities to the organization as well as in Problem
Solving & Task Achieving. Projects were taken up to improve Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety
& Environment by providing digital solutions. I was in the central digitalization team & we were
accountable for end to end execution of the projects, with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) acting as the
consultants for a few complex projects. The area for the project execution were first identified, followed
by scrutinizing the need and priority of the project. After the projects were chosen, budget discussions
would be held with the Finance Department regarding the Return on Investment (ROI) of the projects
along with a timeline, after which the project is vetted. I acted as the consultants in every step, by
choosing the most optimum solution and ensuring that the execution of the project is complying with
the plan. All these activities were handled through the Digital Program Management System portal that
was set up by us in collaboration with the IT Department. This was in compliance with a Go-Green
Initiative to reduce paper usage in the company.

Here I had to manage different teams with different ideas and not take sides.

3. Later I was assigned additional task to look after lean implementation in steel melting shop. Here I
first learnt about the process and later implemented many projects which increased productivity by
improving the KPIs such as electrode consumption, power consumption, tap weight of molten metal,
yield, production time, hot metal loss.

One greatest achievement in JSW is launching DPMS and getting it featured in annual report of JSW.

Here my communication and networking skills with people helped me lot.this was also horizontally
deployed at different plants of JSW in India.

Each role has given me exposure to different parts of the company.

8. Think of the challenges? How have you solved them? What have you learned out of it
and have you received any rewards for that work?
(If you are a fresher or have no full-time work experience, you can ignore this.)

9. Highlight the efforts that you have made to achieve your career objectives (online
courses, internships, part-time jobs, or certifications).

I have done data science specialization course from Coursera and currently I am doing
supply chain management course and project management course from coursera to
help me understand and work on digitalization projects better

10. Has there been a gap year in your career or education? What have you done during that
year?

no

11. Why now? Why do you feel that Master’s degree is imperative for you? Link your career
objectives with it (short-term and long-term goals are to be mentioned). – What do you
want to do after the program?
(If you want, you can refer to Google, be specific while writing career goals. You can
mention what kind of company you would like to join, or you would like to be an
entrepreneur, where do you see yourself in this industry 10-15 years down the line?)

I understood that I need to pursue MBA after joining JSW. Here I interacted with many C-suite officials
and I found out that in order to make quick decisions and grow in my career I should do MBA. Since
then I have started doing Courses in courser regarding supply chain management and project
management.

achieving ability. I want to contribute significantly by making the most out of the resources at
hand and handling projects of high calibre to provide the most optimum results and bring huge
accruals to the organisation in a short span of time and become a subject matter expert. I aspire
to reach to the position of a Partner at a consulting firm with organisations such as
Barclays,HSBC,Oracle,Amazon,JP Morgan etc. My long term goal is to be at a top position in a
big organisation, providing the best and successful results. I also want to train my juniors by
