CLoud Computing Lab 11 On 6 And13 - 01-2022

This lab aims to build a virtual data center from scratch in the iCanCloud simulator. The steps are: 1. Add computing and storage nodes by defining their specifications and saving them. 2. Add racks for the computing and storage nodes, defining the rack specifications and saving them. 3. Add the racks, nodes, and switches to a new virtual data center, connecting them according to a diagram. The full data center configuration is then saved.

Building Visual Data
Outline
Centers

➢ The goal of this lab is to building an Virtual Data center

from Scratch in iCanCloud Simulator by using the
following Steps:

➢ Step 1: Adding Our Nodes (Computing Nodes (servers)

and Storage Nodes (Storage Servers)), i.e. Custom Nodes
➢ Step 2: Adding Our Racks (in real data center the Servers
and storage are rack amounted ).
➢ Step 3: Adding Racks and Nodes to Visual Data center.

2
– Computing nodes
Outline
Step 1 : Adding Our Nodes
➢ To adding Computing Node (servers) ►click on Nodes
► Computing Nodes ► Choose any Node ► Change the
Parameters
➢ Name: CloudLab_CNA;
➢ CPU: Xeon_E5-2650-V2
➢ Memory: GB16_KVR16R11D4.
➢ Disk Maxtor_3TB
➢ #disks :1
➢ PSU : Generic_PSU.
➢ Hypervisor : MainHypervisor.
➢ After complete press Save

3
– Computing nodes
Outline
Step 1 : Adding Our Nodes
➢ The Node full Specifications appear in black screen

4
– Storage
Outline
Step 1 : Adding Our Nodes
➢ To adding Storage ►click on Nodes ► Storage Nodes ►
Choose any Node ► Change the Parameters
➢ Name: CloudLab_STN1;
➢ CPU: intel_i7_3370_4core
➢ Memory: Kingstone_8GB
➢ Disk Maxtor_3TB
➢ #disks :4
➢ PSU : Generic_PSU.
➢ Hypervisor : MainHypervisor.
➢ After complete press Save

5
– Storage

Step 1 : Adding Our Nodes

➢ The Node full Specifications appear in black screen

6
Step 2 : Adding Rack – Computing
Outline (Servers)
➢ To adding Rack ►click on Racks► Choose any Rack ►
Change the Parameters to
➢ Name: Lab_Rack_10;
➢ Node type: CloudLab_CNA
➢ #nodes: 10
➢ Switch type: GeneriticSwitch
➢ Comm. Link: Ethernet 1Gbps
➢ Delay: 1.25E-4;
➢ Ber.:0.0;
➢ Per: 0.0
➢ After complete press Save

7
Step 2 : Adding Rack – Computing

8
Step 2 : Adding Rack – Storage
Outline
➢ To adding Rack ►click on Racks► Choose any Rack ►
Change the Parameters to
➢ Name: Lab_Rack_Sto15;
➢ Storage Rack?
➢ Node type: CloudLab_STN1
➢ #nodes: 15
➢ Switch type: GeneriticSwitch
➢ Comm. Link: Ethernet 10Gbps
➢ Delay: 1.25E-4;
➢ Ber.:0.0;
➢ Per: 0.0
➢ After complete press Save

Step 3: Adding Racks and Nodes to Visual Data center

➢ We obtain

➢ Now Add the Computing Racks by Right click on

Lab_Rack_10 ►Click Add to data center ( repeat this 2
more times)
