AT-1000Pro Autotuner Lamp Mod

This modification reduces the voltage to the lamp in an AT-1000Pro autotuner from 12-13.9 VDC to a regulated 9 VDC. It uses connectors and a three terminal voltage regulator to interrupt the original lamp power connection and regulate the voltage, preventing flickering during transmitter keying. Parts used include an MC7809 voltage regulator IC, 0.01 uF capacitors, and wire-wrap connectors.

AT-1000Pro Autotuner

Lamp Modifications

• This AT-1000Pro modification is applied to the meter’s

incandescent lamp power connection on the Autotuner
• Purpose for two purposes
1) Reduce the voltage to the lamp from the power connector
voltage (usually 12 to 13.9 VDC) to a regulated 9 VDC
2) Regulate the voltage so the lamp does not flicker when the
input voltage varies slightly
• This occurs, for example, when the tuner is powered from the
transmitter and key down (CW mode) creates a slight voltage change.
The voltage change translates into a varying lamp intensity that is
undesirable.
• Modification uses connectors and a three terminal
regulator to keep from permanently modifying the LDG
