Daisy Barrientos Delos Santos was born on the 12 th day of October,2001 in the town of

Moncada,Tarlac.She is a Born Again Christian, a daughter of a farmer of rice and corn


named Tony and Thelma Delos Santos. She was ranked 5th in the six siblings and has two
nephew and one niece. But unfortunately her eldest brother died. She started basic writing
and reading through the guidance of her mother at the age of 4 and became fluent in
reading at the age of 6. During farm time, she helps her parents in planting and crafting
During summer, she do labors in harvesting corns and onions because onion farms are
dominant in their barangay. A day she was able to earn php 300 and used it for her needs,
school stuffs and sometimes share it with her family.

Moving on,Daisy loves singing. But, because of her shyness she wasn’t able to showcase
her talent. She is afraid of people and socializing or even just making friends with girls
and boys at her age.Later on, her mother enrolled her in a kindergarten school but
unfortunately she didn’t finish the school year because of her timidness and she always
gets bullied by her classmates. As a result, she was not able to get a diploma. In spite of
that, she was still accepted as a grade one student. Through that she started socializing
and gaining friends. But her timidness and fear of people did not end because every
afternoon she always skips classes and goes home with an excuse of stomach ache to her
parents but the truth is she’s only afraid of people.

At the age of 7, the time where she was in grade two she earned a bit of confidence. By
that time, she was now able to call someone as her best friend, not one but three pretty
and charming girls are her best friends and up to the present. Daisy also started joining
badminton as her sport and journalism during her last year as an elementary student and
graduated in the year 2012-2013 on Tolega Sur Elementary School with a behavioral
awards.

After graduating in elementary, she enrolled in a public high school in her town named
Moncada National High School and became an achiever during her 7 th grade. She also
tries being a president in a class and it helps her build her self-esteem. After completing
her 7th grade, she was moved in a star or cream section until her 10 th grade. During that
time, she was able to join a municipal press conference that led her into failure. Because
of that ,she started thinking low of herself and didn’t try any other contest in school.v
Thinking that she will only put herself into grave and shame. The confidence she build in
her elementary days goes into zero.

June 1, 2019 was her first day as a Senior High School student. She get General
Academic (GAS) as her strand. Furthermore, it is also the toughest year of Daisy and her
family. Because days after the school started, her brother died due to unknown reason but
according to the doctor it’s due to cardiac arrest. It made them start a new and mourn for
her lost brother for almost a year. Truely enough it’s painful to see your parents struggling
and crying for what happened to their son, Daisy thought. But, the situation made it
addends the fire in her heart. To win,to make her parents proud, to build her brothers
dream and to lift my family into comfortableness. Years after completing grade eleven,
soon she entered the last year for senior high school . It became her way/reason in
boosting her confidence using the performance in one of her subject, she was able to
succeed and fill the joy of winning. That time, she realizes that if you won’t go ahead of
your borders ,you won’t grow. You will became stagnant if you won’t take risk and
overcome fear . Do not think of failing instead make things better ahead of time because
there will always and always be a time for growth and second chances. Indeed the
quatation “try and try until you succeed “is true.She also tries taking entrance
examinations in two different university in college and a scholarship for DOST.
Unfortunately , she didn’t pass the first one and the scholarship but pass the 2 nd entrance
examination in a Tarlac Agricultural University located in Camiling, Tarlac. Unluckily,
Novelcorona virus or the well known Covid-19 started summer of 2019. That is why she
didn’t had the opportunity to enter and pass her papers where she dreamt taking and
finishing her baccalaureate degree independently without her parents roviding her needs
in the school. Instead, someone introduce her in a private institutions that offers an
scholarship. So she grab the opportunity of being a scholar in a school next to their town
which is Paniqui,Tarlac. Now she is currently a 2nd year student taking up Bachelor in
Secondary Education major in English. Since the coronovirus was evolving and up until
today is present, it cause so much losses and outrage accompanied by problems from
family,financial,school and doubts to herself that elevates her stress and anxiety.
Sometimes she’s having suicidal thoughts however, she still fight, continue to live and
pursue her dreams. Trying to convince herself that life may be tough , but at the end of
the day it will get rough. No matter how many heart aches ,alone times, doubts and fights,
all of them will vanish once she succeed. Because, it is a matter of facing, fighting and
fleeing negativeness inside your head. That is her spirit. Living with confidence, standing
still and casting her cares to the Lord Almghty was her biggest weapon for life. She
always thought of herself that once she recieved the diploma, that will be the best gift she
can present to her parents and love ones. Because she is holding the Lord’s word in
Psalms 37:4, “Delight yourself in Me and I will give the desires of your heart.”
