Deeply regretting the effect of improper waste disposal and its effect on human health;
Alarmed by current situation of medical and hazardous waste management in the context of COVID-19;
Bearing in mind the alarming quantity of hazardous waste in water bodies and their effects on aquatic flora and fauna;
Seeking the promotion of using renewable energy sources;
Keeping in mind the impact of waste accumulation on the barren land and people living around disposal sites;
1. Solemnly affirms the commitment of countries to develop and employ towards better waste management techniques
as follows :
1.1.Encourage use of energy intensive industries, renewable energy, carbon capture, use and storage and
Environmental Protection Agency monitors for air quality check,
1.2. Structuring waste stream management between the factory outlet and the discharge point , including segregation
of industrial and domestic wastewater and controlled disposal,
1.3. Implementing good monitoring and evaluation systems to help identify waste management control and
interventions before they are transported to disposal sites;
2. Further recommends encouraging developed and financially stable nations to practice methods that collaborate
economic underdevelopment and protection of the environment by successful and innovative methods such as:
2.1. “Debts for nature swaps” agreements wherein debts owed abroad are converted into an obligation upon the debtor
state to invest the debt amount on local environment projects that promote and implement renewable energy production
and use;

3. Calls upon countries to invest and develop in e-mobility strategies by:


3.1. Focusing on development of result-oriented e-mobility to support a sustainable environment and create economic
opportunity beyond the scope of traditional mobility,
3.2.Construction of alternative fuel infrastructure such as charging stations, solar power generators, pedestrian and
cycling lanes to increase their usage,
3.3.Implementing easy public transport affordability and access with emphasis on usage of subway systems that are
energy efficient with low pollution production,
3.4. Increasing collaborative investment efforts between public and commercial sectors on e-mobility strategies;
4.Supports promoting and implementing on a global level the development of circular economies as an effective
strategy for waste management and sustainable resource practises:
4.1. Stressing on the principles of material reuse and recovery at manufacturing and design stages of products,
4.2. Also stressing on the principle of access over ownership to promote longer lasting and efficient product use,
4.3. Supporting circular business models and companies that employ product take-back policies;

5. Endorses adherence and encouragement of international cooperation on already existing transboundary conventions
and frameworks and strengthening them through participation and funding:
5.1. Referring to the Basel Convention’s framework (1989) on the transboundary movement of hazardous waste and
hazardous recyclable material and other related guidelines contained within it for waste management and sustainable
resource development,
5.2.Also Referring to the Water Convention (1992) as well as the Oceans Plastic Charter (2018) for the protection of

water bodies and resources on a largely co-operational level through partnerships including states, businesses and
international organisations,
5.3.Also referring to the adoptions of several agreements such as the ‘Global Methane Pledge’ under the Conference of
the Parties 26 and effectively implementing the commitments made by member states,
5.4. Additionally emphasises the need for development and reformation of International Environmental Law to cater to
the current necessary action and steps to be taken to control improper waste management practises and standardise
them on an internationally accepted level;
6. Draws the attention of the general public towards the vivid techniques of managing biomedical waste by reducing the
radioactive substances or material used and segregation of biomedical waste using efficient systems that reduce
effects of hazardous substances.
