ACT. 1.1 Listening and speaking - Oral


Sequence four pictures of a story and retell the story using
simple words, sentences and/or gestures.
Activity 1.2 Listening and speaking. Oral

Activity 2 – Reading
2.1 Shared reading : Make a scrap book about seasons. Sort pictures
into different seasons. Give sentences to match the pictures.
2.2 Group guided reading : Use pictures from a magazine or from
your flip file and tell your friend what the story is about.
2.3 Paired Reading : Read your flip file or any picture book available.
2.5 Fill in a, e, i, o, u to complete the words and then match them
to the correct picture.
2.6 Complete the words so that they match with the correct
picture.

Present a weather forecast to your family.

1.1.1 Imagine that you are going to read the weather forecast on

TV, using a weather map.


1.2.1 Look at the poster about keeping the school clean.

(a) Tell your friend wat the poster says we should do. You can add

more sentences to the poster about not littering.

(b) Write down five sentences on how to keep our environment

clean.

(c) Make your own poster, using recycle material.

2.1 Shared reading : Comprehension – Read the following letter and
answer the questions.
2.2 Group guided reading : Read your pleasure reader, a newspaper
or a magazine with your family.
2.3 Paired Reading : Read your flip file.

Listening and speaking – Oral : Television interview.

(a) You are interviewing Cristiano Ronaldo. Prepare the


questions you want to ask him. Here are some clues:
(Family are your audience).









(b) Now use the above information to prepare your speech to
present to your audience.

Design an invitation card, inviting your friends to join you
on an insect trip at Emmerentia Dam.

Learners from SV class are invited on a special insect –


spotting trip during the September holidays, to enjoy and
discover the bees and butterflies, the ants, the ladybirds and
the grasshoppers.

1. Shared reading : Make a scrap book about different insects. You


can do drawings as well. Sort pictures into different insect groups. Give
sentences to match the pictures.

flip file and tell a friend what it is about. Make up your own story.
