Ganaraska 250 - Event Details

.1 The Ganaraska 250 is NOT a road race. It is a reliability and navigational road run with agility
tests. It is an event where timed sections, reliability, riding skill and ability to navigate determine award
winners. The route is on public roads and all Highway Traffic Act Rules and Regulations and speed limits
must be adhered to. Points will be deducted for both late and early arrivals at the check points and for
success at the agility tests.

.2 Ganaraska 250 entrants are required to sign a waiver accepting full personal responsibility for
their participation in the event.

.3 Entry into the Ganaraska 250 is on a first come basis and numbers will be assigned accordingly.

.4 Competition entry; any motorcycle registered as a model year 1975 or earlier* , 750cc or less.
entrants will be divided into six classes for award purposes;

Class 1 - less than 200cc, (capable of a sustained average speed of 40-50 Km PHr)
Class 2 - 201 to 350cc
Class 3 - 351cc to 500cc.
Class 4 - 501cc to 750cc

discretion of the event organizer.

All Classes:

.6 “motorcycle” for the purpose of the Ganaraska 250; is a two wheeled motorized vehicle both
“scooter” and “motorcycle” forms are welcome. For the purpose of these rules “motorcycle” also includes
the sidecar group at the Ganaraska 250 based on a motorcycle of any displacement up to 750cc, 1975 or
earlier

.7 Motorcycles entering the Ganaraska 250 must be mechanically sound and road worthy, licensed
for use on the road and carry vehicle insurance. Forms to demonstrate this may be asked for and
participation is at the discretion of the event organizer.

safely, courteously and not to speed in excess of the posted limits.

.10 Prescribed route, will be defined by text road sheets defining roads, turns and distances, the
route sheet will represent the official route. Route sheets will be included in the registration packages at
on-site registration.
All competition classes, limited to the first 100 entries received:

.11 Route descriptions may be transferred to a graphic form (maps) by the entrant and GPS devices
are permitted. The Ganaraska 250 is a test of reliability and navigation skill in an “old school” way we ask
participants to use equipment in this spirit.

.12 Short cuts; while some riders may lose the route, it is a requirement that once they determine
they have done so they must return to the point where they left the route and complete the course. Short
cuts are not permitted.

.13 Road run timing will be done on a minute basis. Seconds will be lost for the number of full
minutes, counted as full, starting before or finishing after the prescribed time on the rider card. Official
time is GPS world time as per mobile computer devices.

.14 Check points will remain open for 1/2 hour after the arrival time calculated for the last departing
motorcycle. Anyone arriving later than 1/2 hour at the check point will lose an automatic set number of
points.

.15 As this is a reliability run, breakdown assistance will not be provided and no outside assistance
with a vehicle breakdown will be allowed. In the case of a vehicle breakdown the driver of the vehicle will
be allowed to affect their own repairs in order to complete the course provided the repairs do not
compromise the safety of the driver or other participants. A vehicle repaired in a manner that the
organizers deem to be a danger to the operator or other participants will be disqualified and removed
from the course at the organizers discretion. Should the vehicle be rendered inoperable, a vehicle road
side rescue service will be provided by the organizers. Should an entrant require rescue they will lose an
automatic set number points per section not completed.

.16 The event includes agility test components. This will consist of slow speed trials events within a
controlled area, on the home grounds of the event at the beginning and end of section rides. Every
entrant is required to participate in the agility component to qualify for an award.

.17 Agility tests will be scored on a seconds lost basis measured to hundredths of a second, variation
from the posted time. Seconds will also be lost for leaving the course, putting feet down, hitting course
barriers, or not completing the test.

.18 In the case of a tie, entrants will be required to enter additional test event(s) until a winner is
determined.

.19 Participants will be issued with a numbered stamp card which will be a record of their
completeness. Officials will maintain an event master list and score record. If there is a disparity between
the stamp card and master list, the master list will be taken as the official record.

.20 Competitors will be provided with a numbered bib which must be worn durning the ride and agility
tests. Your number may not be exchanged with another rider and is unique to you. Numbers will be
assigned on a first come sequential basis. Registrants may submit as a group and be numbered
sequentially, however, there is no “team” category other than CVMG Section Teams.

.21 Timing of sections and agility tests will be on a sequential basis by number and points will be lost
for lateness at the start, losing a bib or stamp card.

.22 Winners of awards will be determined by the entrant with the lowest lost points lost, at the
discretion of the event organizers.
.23 Section Team Trophy; participants are to register on site as a Section-Team Member. Points for
team members will be added and averaged and the team with the average lowest points lost will be the
winner. A team must be a min. of 2 and max. of 6 members. The trophy will be awarded to the winning
team and the Section name added to the trophy. The Trophy will be displayed during the year at CVMG
events and Section team members will be given a keeper plaque after the event.

.24 Additional details and the basis of scoring will be provided to participants in their registration kit.

Tourist Class, limited to the first 15 entries received:

compete, you will not be timed on the road run nor participate in the agility tests.

.26 We encourage Tourist class entrants to start in advance of competition classes but, if riding with a
competitor, tourists may leave on the road run from the event site at any time of their choice. Tourists are
required to avoid riding in the competition start line and agility test areas, but are welcome to observe.

.27 Tourists are requested to leave on the road run before the last competitor in order to remain in
front of the breakdown rescue vehicles. Tourist class entrants may request break down pick up if needed.

.28 Tourist class entrance may not assist any competitor in wayfinding or breakdown assistance and

assisting a competitor that competitor will be penalized a set number of points equal to a rescued vehicle.
