Skin Movement in Truck Rotation

This study analyzed skin movement of the trunk during rotational movement while sitting. Markers were placed on the front, back, and sides of the trunk. During right trunk rotation, markers on the right front skin moved up and to the side, while left front markers moved down and inward. Back left markers moved up and to the side, while back right markers moved inward with varying directions. The opposite motions occurred during left trunk rotation. Skin movement may be influenced by wrinkling and sliding in the superficial fascia layer.
