The Story of Science
The Story of Science
We have many questions in our mind, just like how did we really know that the solar system has
eight planets? How did science innovate into period of modern technology? There are many
questions that still now is not answerable. For thousands of years we have wrestled with the
great questions of existence. Who are we? How did we get here? The quest to answer these is
the story of science because it gives you clear insights and informative knowledge. “What is out
there?” shows how we came to understand that the earth was not the center of everything in
cosmos. The story of science tells the story of the forces that came together to create scientific
explanation for everybody just like instruments and machines that innovates our technology.
Based on the author “What is out there?” talks about the story of one of the great upheavals in
human history so I thought that it would all discuss about human modernization but this
episode for me is a revealing roles of astrologers in changing our point of view of the heavens.
This episode taught me that everything is a process especially if you want to know the events
that leads to discoveries. I liked the way the author presented his understanding because the
video was very informative it gives us clear information and for me it was exciting because he
makes the video in a mysterious way. When I’m watching this episode I thought that I will be
bored and sleepy but its unexpected that I will be curious about the events because they
showed it in mysterious but informative way.
I am also amazed about the information and answers that was given to us because some of that
is not actually taught in school classes, but the author explained it very well that’s why I think
episodes like this should be watched mostly by the students because it will be productive for
them. I enjoyed the entire video because it was very informative and it is useful for student like
me who understands more easily when it is in video form. I thought in the first place that I
would waste my time in watching this episode but I’m wrong because every minute gives us
different ideas that we can use in the future generation.
Episode 2: What is the world made of?
We all have different perspectives in life, if you ask “What is the world made of?” to a biologist
for him/her the world is made of living organisms. If you ask that question to a chemist for
them the world is made of molecules formed from atoms. If you ask that question to a
physicist, the physicist will probably start by talking about atoms, and then proceed to talk
about the protons, neutrons, and electrons that make up an atom.
What is the world made of? – the story of science basically examine how our society has been
built on our quest to find out how things are made. I think this episode demonstrates how our
society is built on our way to seek for ideas to what makes up everything in the material world.
Based on this episode this is a story that moves from the secret labs of the alchemists and their
search for gold to the creation of the world’s first synthetic dye mauve and onto the invention
of the transistor. I found this episode too long, but very informative and useful for all students
because it delivered the greatest impact on humanity. We all know about the ancient greek
belief that the world was made of fire, air, water, and earth and understood as we do that
everything in existence can be reduced to simple building blocks even if their particular
enumeration was somewhat a bad idea that affects the theory.
I’ll be honest that I skipped on the first 15 minutes of the video because I’m sleepy that time so
I decided to continue watching on the next day so I can understand this episode more easily.
When I watched on the next day I realized that it was not boring I was just tired that time so I
skipped many parts of the video, but when I watched it again I found it interesting and
productive to watch. It was not tiring to watch even if it has many terms and information
because they presented it in organized way. In this episode I learned that Physics and Chemistry
have managed the right path for the successful innovation of the future world.
Episode 3: How did we get here?
If you ask someone “How did we get here “and the answer is that the dark matter and dark
energy brought all of it. The paltry 4.6% of the universe that is you, the earth, and all the stars
and galaxies in the universe here. You may ask someone “How did we get here?” and they
respond. We got here by the creative act of god where he made the universe, the galaxies, the
solar system, the earth, and placed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Some related
questions Is there a creator? Or did we evolve? Or was there a big bang?
All of these questions can’t be right, there is only one truth? This leaflet is intended to get
people thinking and start their quest to find the truth for themselves. I thought I will find this
episode boring but I find it intriguing. One point both the creationist and the scientist agree
upon, about or life on earth and our universe, is the existence of others, perfect cycles and
perfect sequences is a mind blowing idea because this episode taught me that all life forms
differ from each other. Yet amazingly all working together in one gigantic universal engine.
Based on this third episode the author takes an informative and ambitious journey because it
explores how the evolution of scientific understanding is between historical path. I learned that
this episode is a revealing history of all life on earth, including us, is connected to the long and
violent history of our planet. I found the entire video interesting because it has a lots of
knowledge to be absorbed by the listeners it can be useful for them if they will use it in a right
manner.
