Beautify Skies & Landscape Photography: Cheat Sheet

The document provides guidance for landscape photography using a DSLR camera. It recommends using a mid-range aperture of f/8 to f/14 to get more of the scene in focus. The ISO should be kept under 400, preferably at 100, to minimize noise. A tripod is necessary due to the combination of small aperture and low ISO requiring slower shutter speeds that cannot be handheld. Circular polarizing, neutral density, and neutral density gradient filters are essential tools to enhance colors, capture movement, and darken bright areas respectively.

CHEAT SHEET You need to use a higher f-stop, or narrow aperture, to get
more of your scene in focus. Generally, you’ll want to shoot in
the f/8 to f/14 range, topping out at around f/16.

In order to compensate for the smaller aperture, you may

need to bump up the ISO a bit, but then you want to avoid
noise in your landscape shots and to do this you will need a
lower ISO. Keep it under 400 and preferably at 100.

Use a tripod as the shutter speed will be too long to hand hold
due to small aperture and lower ISO. You do not want to risk
getting blurry shots.
