Organizing the Preparation Outline for Informative Speech

Title/Topic: how to prevent cyber bullying


General Purpose : To inform that cyberbullying that can cause student to commit suicide.
Specific Purpose : the purpose of this speech is to inform my audience about the effect
cyberbullying on the person.

Central Idea
(Thesis Statement) : ignore/refuse to cyberbullies, build self-esteem toward to yourself,
do not share personal information and. Provide resources such as
counseling and hotline assistance for teens who need it

INTRODUCTION

I. Attention Getter/ Topic Introduction: First is what comes to your mind when a lot of people say
about cyberbullying? You will think it negative toward to cyberbullying. For example, post
comment like ‘you a useless’, but cyberbullying not just a harsh comment toward to other
people, but also can justify themselves seek for attention. If this not stop many people will
suffer.
II. Credibility & Relevancy Statement: The reason you should listen is cyberbullying can happen
anytime, even you feel safe in the places such as home. Cyberbullying has a major effect on
individual such as depression and the law must take this case seriously otherwise it will getting
worse.
III. Background of Topic: This topic about cyberbullying means insulting, threatening or harassing
other using a communication in social media. This happen either internet, e-mail or other social
media platforms. Most of bullying will hide their identity such as act anonymously, so that
victim will not know from whom the attack come.

IV. Preview/Central Idea: ignore/refuse to cyberbullies, build self-esteem toward to yourself, do not
share personal information and. Provide resources such as counseling and hotline assistance for
teens who need it

(Transition: To start off, I will begin with history of cyberbullying)

Main point 1: Ignore/refuse to respond cyberbullies make less cyberbullying in schools.


a. According to Dr Sameer Hinduja and Dr Justin W. Patchin of cyberbullying
Research Centre advise victims not to respond to ‘minor teasing or name calling”
if they can avoid it.
1. For example, I have experienced the cyberbullying when I saw a post on social
media it hurt to see their comment and someone that I don’t even know. I
choose my commenting section so that I cannot see their comment.

b. Often time cyber bullies will stop their behavior if their victims ignore them.
Bullies a love getting reaction from the victims. so someone who face
cyberbullying try to ignore them in order bullies to stop their action.

c. Instead respond to them most likely will make the situations getting worst. The
more you try to fight the more they will attack you back. Other method is simply
blocking and report a user who practices targeted cyberbullying is quite simple
with modern technology now days.

Main point 2: build self-esteem toward to yourself.


A. Building self-esteem is a core component of cyberbullying prevention. With
healthy self-esteem, your teen will not only confident but will be able identify their
strength and their weakness. This is because healthy self-esteem also to protect
teens from bullying. Those bullies are less target when the others kids are
confident who they are. For example, spend time with your teens such as with
parent, friend, teacher and others community that have a good environment.

B. Encourage your teen to pursue their passions. When the student your teen have the
areas in their live where they feel confident, this attitude will carry over into areas
of life, reducing the likelihood that they will be bullies.

C. acknowledge your teen good choices. All of parent will correct bad behavior and
choices but then forget to acknowledge the good things their teens do. Kid is more
likely to believe in themselves and their abilities when they receive positive
reinforcement when they do something right.

Main point 3. Do not share shared personal information to social media

A. The parent should teach their teen/children never share a personal information
online. For example, if you list your personal information such as home address or
phone number it will make you a victim.
B. The student also should avoid post their photo of themselves to online. This is to
avoid the cyberbullies easily to find you. After that keep your personal information
private so they will know less about you. For example, when you see a mysterious
links, it could scam to avoid it do not click on something that we don’t know about
it.
C. Awareness is the key to prevent cyberbullies. Their parent must monitor what their
kid doing instead let them be. Limit their usage as well. Most important reported
instantly without delay. This is to make sure that cyberbullies will not recognized

you easily as their target.

Main point 4. Provide resources such as counseling and hotline assistance for teens who need it.
D. The teacher should be responsible to start a mentoring program at school and invite
community and business leaders to participate in program. This is because to make
sure the teens will have strength mentality when face bullies.

E. The school should make a strict anti-bullying and anti-cyberbullying rules and
ensure that students are aware of consequences if they fail to follow the rule. For
example, if the student found guilty that they bullies other students, the school
should expelled from schools. This is because cyberbullies can lead student to
suicide. As you can see we need something strength such as strict law in school to
prevent cyberbullies.

Transition: basically as you can see this can issue should take seriously and take a lot of
effort.

CONCLUSION

I. As the conclusion, you can see that the effect of cyberbullying toward to our students can cause
a problem. We should take this serious otherwise we can see suicide happen every year.
Cyberbullying is a problem in schools that are advanced enough to have the technology to
connect cyberbullying can affect anyone but most prominent today is youth. Schools and parent
be aware of what kids are doing on their internet and their phone.
