Humans are often harmed by pollution. The presence of the hazardous substances brought about
by these three major types of pollution: land, air and water gravely affects our health. For instance, a
person may acquire skin problems and other deformities from the toxic wastes present in the land that
we live in such as garbage, pesticides, heavy metals and other chemicals. Air pollution caused by toxic
gases, solid and liquid particles or aerosols, and other hazardous air pollutants adversely contaminate
the air that we breathe. Long-term exposure to air pollutants has been linked with diseases of the heart
and lungs, cancers and other health problems. Lastly, water pollution observed in our primary water
sources like oceans, rivers, and lakes is caused by the presence of industrial wastes, sewage and waste
waters, chemical fertilizers and pesticides to be specific. Infectious diseases can be acquired through
contaminated water and can cause cholera, jaundice, liver damage and stomach illness in people.

The grading system in Junior High school goes like this 20% for the final examinations, 40% for
written tests and 40% for the performance task, some subjects in Junior High School have a different

like for example, 20% final examinations, 35% written works then 45% for the performance tasks As you

written works can have the highest percentage depending on the requirements of the subject.
WHAT I CAN DO
The Schedules are one aspect that verifies a gap between Senior High School and Junior High
School students. In Senior High School, subjects differ based on the student’s track of choice while in
Junior High School, subjects are basic and equal between all classes/sections except for electives. Unlike
Senior High School, the students in Junior High School start their schedule later and end later due to
having less number of subjects compared to Senior High. However, Junior High School has more co-
curricular activities than Senior High School. The core curriculum also gives an impact between the
difference in schedule since their main focus and targets are different. The schedule in Senior High
School gives students an introduction of how college life will differ from when they were in Junior High
School. This will help the Senior High School students to be prepared for their future whether it’d be
entrepreneurship, employment, skills development, & higher education.
Discoveries and invention of devices are always welcome until we, humans,
find a way to abuse its benefits and be adversely affected by it. This was the case when Wilhelm
Roentgen discovered x-ray and within five years, the British Army was using a mobile x-ray unit to locate
bullets and shrapnel in wounded soldiers in the Sudan. TV was also invented with positive thoughts in
mind – there would be no national borders, education and communication would be worldwide, etc.
However, we are now trying to overcome its physiological and psychological adverse effects on human
beings.
-Humans find a way to abuse the benefits of these discoveries and inventions states the cause of
the idea.
-People are adversely affected by these devices states the results of the idea.

WHAT I–CAN DO
There are many casualties because of the lack of preparedness not just by the disaster group of
Tacloban but all the people who has experienced Yolanda's wrath. There would be a notice from other
government agencies and authorities, but the hurricane is too strong and people are not prepared enough
when the hurricane hit the land mass of Tacloban. Also, the places where evacuees take shelter has been
wiped out by the surge combined with strong winds and floodings. Families take refuge on churches and
high places, but unfortunately all places has almost destroyed by forces of nature. It was really one of the
worst disaster ever happened on earth.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
The working out of cause and effect is eternal. You are part of this rising and falling that never
ends, and only by riding the wave can you ensure that the waves don't drown you. “When two things
occur successively we call them cause and effect if we believe one event made the other one happen.”
