Client is an American insurer group of automobiles, homes and small businesses and provides other insurance and
financial services products. Client has historically been a product centric organization. Customer information is
captured and stored in multiple systems, resulting in the inability to easily identify the same customer across all
systems and even within some systems. To enable more meaningful and profitable relationships with customers,
Client has implemented a Master Data Management (MDM) solution to support a 360-degree view of the customer
by creating an authoritative hub for managing and distributing customer data. The core purpose of creating an MDM
Customer Hub is to become a customer centric organization. Current MDM has around 23M customers on Premise
and 1.5M data on Cloud for Commercial line of business.
• Actively involved in business meeting with Client, analyze the requirement and design, and implement the
changes.
• Responsible for coordinating with the Offshore team and review their assigned work products.
• Implemented an end-to-end Customer MDM project On premise
▪ Created golden data with IBM MDM; tailored and extended out of the box MDM data model to suit
the business needs; deployed with OSGi and WAR; customized with Data additions, Data
extensions, Behavior extensions, implemented Party and Account data model.
▪ Customized PME algorithm to accept additional attributes (Driving License, custom Address,
Phone types) to fit business requirements.
▪ Tuned OOTB PME algorithm, set the Auto link and Clerical Review thread-holds for MDM Hub to
minimize False positive and negatives, Sample Pair Analysis with Data stewards
▪ Created business proxies and customized OOTB External rule classes to tailor fit customer
requirements for data load.
▪ Created business services to fetch real time data from MDM including Client’s internal portals
(Customer Self Service, ServiceOps, Quote, Claims Center etc.) and external systems (Payment
US, Quicken Loan etc.)
▪ Implemented 3rd Party Pitney Bowes Address Standardization tool for real time address cleansing
during data load.
▪ Implemented OTS to improve OOTB Inquiry Service SQL performance.
▪ Planned and Integrated MDM with 10+ Policy systems and multiple data enrichment sources via
NRT (MQ), Batch (Informatica ETL) and Real time (MuleSoft) feed.
▪ Integrated MDM via Pub-Sub model with consumers and source systems, feeding the MDM
generated Unique Enterprise Customer Number to various system - Customer Self Service,
Service Ops, Customer DataMart, Policy Source systems, Enterprise ODS, Payment US Wallet
for Billing etc.

Client, is a Canadian crown-owned telecommunications firm and provides wireline and wireless communications
services, including landline telephone, mobile networks, broadband internet (including copper DSL, fiber to the home,
and wireless broadband), IPTV, and security services.
Client wanted to upgrade their existing Customer MDM Hub with Person data from Initiate v 9.0 to IBM Infosphere
MDM v11.0 Standard Edition. Existing Hub had a single Member Type (Person) with a single entity (id) and
approximate data volume for Member entities is 1.2 million. The upgrade was mostly an "as is" functionality, with no
change in attributes. The upgrade was performed in a way that would minimize downtime and reduce risk. Client
had used their existing Oracle Database version 11g. Environments that were upgraded as part of this assignment
were - DEV, QA/Pre-Prod and finally the PROD Environments.
• As the offshore MDM Lead/coordinator Saptarshi’ s primary responsibilities were to gather the MDM
Hub Upgrade scope, assess the upgrade process and create the project plan, and timeline.

with stakeholders. He also provided knowledge transfer and technical assistance to the Client
stakeholders with the new IBM Product.
Client is a chain of consumer electronics retail stores in Australia and New Zealand. Client stores are generally large
warehouse type stores and rely on volume in sales, often negotiating sale of products for much less than the
recommended retail prices.
Client required a Customer MDM HUB for effectively managing their customers and uses the same for Analytics
and proper Marketing. The Customer hub would like to seek an effective solution to manage their customers.
The customers are present across disparate systems and in silos and there is a need to consolidate them to
increase efficiency, accuracy, lower total cost of ownership, proper identification of customers and enhance
delivery capability and Marketing.
• As the IBM MDM Developer at Onsite, Saptarshi’ s responsibilities were to conceptualize and design
the IBM SE member model and algorithm configuration.
• Performed multiple iterations of Weight and Algorithm tuning via BXM and Sample pair analysis to
meet client requirements.
• Developed a scalable Application Layer counterpart based on JAVA and PL/SQL for Onetime load
and daily incremental loads in the Customer Hub and write UNIX scripts to invoke the data load
services.
• Executed Unit Testing of different components before handing over to QA.
• Worked with Client Stakeholders to provide inputs on Performance Testing, prepare and review
Technical & Process Documents related to the project.
