Pros
It can handle a large variety of materials.
You can control the style and size of the cut by your own choice.
It gives perfect scrapbooking results.
Lightweight and Compact Design.
Cons
Graphics design abilities are limited.
Not appropriate for heavy cuttings.
It is a great device. Best for doing basic tasks with this machine. Moreover,
it is entirely cartridge-based & so it is not possible to make custom made
designs.
A multi-color LCD display on the upper side allows you to move & even
manipulate pictures. You can also connect to the Internet to access the
Design Space. This software contains thousands of pictures that can be
browsed & use for die-cutting.
This machine is easy to use. You could settle for it if you are not easy with
graphic design & stuff. In this situation, all you have to do is select & plug
the correct cartridges into a machine. The designs can be moved around and
can be resized.
It has a good option, i.e., the Auto-fill option when you choose allows you
to copy shapes on the Mat several times. This is a timesaving feature
indeed.
Pros
Timesaving machine.
Free designs are accessible in Design Space.
It can handle various materials (balsa wood, chipboard, foam, etc.)
Comes with a one-year warranty.
Cons
Graphic design abilities are limited.
4. Cricut Explore 1
It is the first Cricut Machine that eschewed cartridges and featured the
online Design Space. You can look at the present additional feature of
cartridges into any Cricut machine. In any case, it's simpler to connect your
Cartridges to your Design Space account.
One major disadvantage of the Explore One is that it doesn't have Bluetooth
installed, so you must connect a computer to it. Likewise, it just has one
carriage for holding tools. If you expected to score paper, you would need
to remove your cutting edge, install the scoring tools, and afterward switch
the cutting edge back once more. It will, in any case, cut everything that the
other models of the Cricut Explore can cut, however. For these reasons, I do
not see the Explore One worth purchasing
Pros
No need to set it manually as It has smart dial settings.
It can cut different dimensions.
Strong German carbide cutting blade.
It comes with a USB port.
Cons
Design space is accessible only on the web.
It is limited to cutting lightweight materials.
The Cricut Explore Air 2 is a step down from the Cricut Maker. You can cut
many materials with the Cricut Explore Air 2, but it's not good with the
rotational shaper, which cuts fabric, or the blade cutting edge, which cuts
wood.
That being said, it's also less expensive than the Cricut Maker — in many
retailers it is even half the cost. You can check online for the current pricing
of the Cricut Explore Air 2. The advantage of the Explore Air 2 is that it
cuts twice as quickly, so there is a lot of time saved when doing projects on
this machine.
One of the fastest Cricut machines in the market. It is powerful and best for
light-duty work.
This model has a double tool holder. It means that it can cut, write, and
score at the same time. This machine has a user-friendly interface and is
easy to understand.
Another amazing function of this edition is the Bluetooth technology. It
means the designs can send directly from the phone to the Cricut. In the
previous model, you must buy a Bluetooth adapter separately for wireless
function.
The major selling point of this machine is the cutting & writing speed. It
has 2 operation modes. A normal mode cuts at the normal pace. On the flip
hand, a fast mode cuts faster, twice the normal one.
It is also noted that this machine has a Cut Smart two technology. This
technology gets a long way in always improving the quality of your cuts. It
is also capable of cutting wood.
Pros
Powerful blades
Customize the designs as you want.
Compact design
It has easy storage compartments.
It can be operated using Design Space.
Include 3k above readymade designs.
Cons
Internet is required to use Design Space.
Accessible through web only.
Louder than the other models.
7. Cricut Maker
The Cricut Maker is the most recent machine released. It was introduced in
August 2017. It's the costliest one yet, but we are beginning to see
infrequent sales and price drops. The best thing about the Maker is its
ability to cut fabrics and wood. It features a rotating cutter for fabrics and
crepe paper. Also, it has a knife blade for cutting things like wood, foam
board, and thicker materials. As mentioned before, it comes with a rotating
cutter, but you should buy the knife blade separately.
To change out the distinctive cutting tools, fix the brace on side B. Pull out
the current sharp edge lodging, drop the one you need to use in its place,
and close the clamp.
The Cricut Maker is as simple to use as other Cricuts, but you can
accomplish a lot more with it. Besides, cricut maker companies continue
coming up with new product features to make it far superior, the most
recent being a scoring wheel that enables the user to make mind-boggling
score lines for embellishing. The Maker also comes with access to fabric
designs and it has Bluetooth connectivity.
It is the most excellent Cricut model ever. Not just is it wireless-enabled,
powerful & compact but as well as dependable. It has a double tool holder
& fast cutting speed, and a rotary blade also.
The rotary blade can cut hard fabrics. This blade is equipped with gliding
and rolling action, which gives this model extra power to cut through fabric.
This edition also has a knife blade. It is a sharp blade that cuts materials up
to 2.4mm thickness.
Pros
Powerful blades
Has a large sewing library.
This is a true workhorse with a turbocharged engine.
It has a futuristic and fantastic design.
It also detects when using the wrong blade.
Fair price under 500 dollars.
Cons
The cutting space is limited.
Still accessible through web Design Space.
Once they are all connected, open your computer browser to continue the
setup. Visit the Cricut Sign-in Page and click on the “Sign in” icon. You
will have to either sign in with your account details or create a new account
for yourself if you don’t already have one. This is necessary so as to be able
to access the Cricut Design Space.
If you do not have an active account yet, don’t bother to fill in any
information on the sign-in fields. Click on the “Create Cricut ID” in the
green box and then fill out every field with the required information and
click on “Submit.”
Now, it’s time to link your machine to your account. It takes some people a
lot of time to finish this part successfully. To make it easier, follow the
procedures below.
After signing in, go to the upper left corner of the page and click on the
drop-down menu icon (with three lines) beside “Home.”
When the drop-down menu appears, select the “New Machine Setup.”
On the next screen that pops up, click on your Cricut machine model.
It may be a little bit difficult to make use of the Cricut Design Space
without fully knowing its environment. So, stick with small projects till you
get better, or ask someone who has more knowledge and experience with
Cricut tools to guide you through.
1.3: Accessories and tools required for using Cricut
You can't possibly use a Cricut machine alone, but the type of accessories
or tools that you need depends on the kind of project that you're using the
machine for. If you're going into home décor, you'll need different tools
from those going into papercrafts.
Necessities
Irrespective of any project, some necessary accessories are essential. Some
of these accessories come with Cricut, while some can be purchased from
Cricut.
Cutting Mats
Cutting mats
come in three kinds, which are strong grip, standard grip, and light grip.
You can also purchase any one of the sizes that they come in, which is
either the 12 inches by 24 inches or the 12 inches by 12 inches mat.
The strong grip mat is ideal when you're cutting stiffened fabric, glitter
cardstock, chipboard, specialty cardstock, and other thick materials. For
thinner materials like embossed cardstock or standard cardstock, vinyl,
pattern paper, or iron-on, we recommend the standard grip mat. For the
lightest materials, a light grip mat is needed. Light materials include light
cardstock, office paper, vellum, or other materials.
A newly bought Cricut machine includes a cutting mat in the box, and so
you don’t have to buy a mat separately. After a while, the mat will lose its
stickiness, and you can either apply glue to maintain it or buy a new one.
Also, when considering your project, you should get the right mat. If your
mat is light grip and you try to cut a thick fabric, you might end up messing
the entire project up because the material will keep on shifting from the
mat.
Cutting Blades
Cutting Blades are the essential accessories needed when using Cricut.
After all, you can't cut without a blade.
Cutting blades also come in three types. First, we have the standard blade
that usually accompanies the Cricut machine. The blade is very sharp and
strong, but after a while, you will need to change the blade when it becomes
blunt. So, you should have extra blades on hand just in case.
Next, we have the German carbide blade. You can easily purchase this from
Cricut too. It's stronger than the standard blade, and it is created to cut
through mid-weight materials. The blade also lasts for a longer time and
doesn't easily break.
Lastly, designed for very thick materials, we have the deep-cut blade. The
deep-cut blade is meant for cutting materials that go with the strong grip
cutting mat. You can also use the blade to cut materials like stamp material,
magnet, and some other fabrics.
Vinyl or Iron-On
For example, when working on vinyl or iron-on projects, they both use the
same type of tools because they are both similar. Iron-on plans are pretty
much heat transfer vinyl projects.
You can use vinyl to decorate tumblers, cups, or mugs; create decals for
frames or walls and other projects. Iron-on is used to decorate fabric, like
adding designs on t-shirts.
Transfer Tape
Circuit also manufactures this tool, and it is entirely transparent. This way,
when transferring or placing your vinyl project, you can see it easily and
handle it more carefully.
Weeder
When carrying out vinyl or iron-on projects, a weeder is crucial because it
can be used to single out tiny pieces that are on your project, like the pieces
of vinyl that aren't being used from the backing sheet.
Paper
Apart from vinyl projects, paper projects are probably the most popular
projects that most crafters carry out. When using Cricut, most people start
with paper projects because they are light and relatively more comfortable
to do.
You can use paper to create shapes, numbers, letters, cards, envelopes,
banners, decorations, stickers, and more. For paper projects, there are two
general tools that you will possibly need.
Pens
When using any of the Cricut Explore machines, you can quickly write out
your designs. When you want to draw, Cricut provides some free fonts and
some fonts that you can buy from Cricut Access. Also, if you have fonts on
your computer, you can use that too.
You can buy different pens from Cricut that are compatible with any of the
Explore machines. Their types of pens include calligraphy pens, fine tip
pens, gold pens, metallic pens, and pens of a wide range of colors.
Although you can use other pens, Cricut machines work best with Cricut
pens.
The great thing about Cricut machines is that they provide two slots so that
you can use the pen and the blade simultaneously. This allows for quick
designing and cutting instantaneously.
Scoring Tool
This is also called a scoring stylus, and it is used for folding lines on boxes,
envelopes, cards, or any other paper. In the same way, you can design or
draw and cut at the same time; you can also install the scoring tool in the
machine when the blade is already installed.
This makes your designing process fast and easy.
Additional Tools
Apart from the usual design tools, you can also purchase some tools that
make using the Cricut machine more convenient. Depending on the project
you are using, these tools might be handy.
Tool Kit
Instead of purchasing your tools one-by-one, some people go for the
economical option and buy a tool kit instead. A standard tool kit should
include scissors, weeders, scrapers, spatulas, and tweezers. If you're going
into iron-on or vinyl projects, then you should probably purchase this type
of tool kit.
Some advanced tool kits add a paper trimmer and scoring stylus. This tool
kit is excellent for those interested in paper projects.
Bluetooth Adapter
As stated earlier, Cricut Explore One does not come with an inbuilt
Bluetooth adapter. If you want to use this model, you can buy a Bluetooth
adapter from Cricut. This way, you can easily use your Cricut wherever
your computer, laptop, or iPad is.
1.4: FAQ’S and troubleshooting
This section will address the most commonly asked questions about the
Cricut experience, as well as some of the most common issues that come up
throughout the process. If there is an answer that you need, which you
cannot find here, you will find the internet to be an exceptionally useful tool
in answering nearly any questions, troubleshooting mostly any issue, and
just getting a better understanding of your Cricut system.
Why can’t I weed my design without it tearing?
There are two fairly common causes for this type of issue. Number one is
dull blades. We have some tips on how to sharpen your blades later in this
section, so just look for that! The second reason is a build-up of residues on
your blades. Look further into this section for tips on how to clean your
blades as well!
Is it necessary to turn all my images into SVGs?
No, it is not necessary to convert your images to the SVG format if you
have a JPG or PNG. However, if it is your wish to have SVG files in your
project, there are several free online resources that can help you with this
process. Try to keep in mind that if you convert your file type to an SVG,
you may have less freedom to manipulate the components of your image.
Where do I go to buy materials?
When it comes to buying materials for your Cricut, there is nearly an
unlimited number of places where you can get them. Since the Cricut is
such a versatile machine with the ability to cut so many materials, you
won’t be able to go into any crafting or fabric stores without tripping over
new materials you can use for your latest and greatest crafts.
As you continue to learn more about how Cricut works and what you can
do with it, you will find which materials and brands best suit your needs.
From there, you will often find what you need by shopping online to get the
best prices and quantities of the materials you prefer, which will help you
stretch your dollar as best as you can.
Do I need a printer to use my Cricut?
In a word, no. Using your Cricut with the materials we’ve laid out in this
book doesn’t require ink from a printer, though there are some materials on
the market for Cricut, which are specifically meant to be printed on before
using.
If you’re not using these items, then you will find that you can get the most
out of your machine without that feature.
If you wish to print things, then cut them; this is known as the Print then
Cut method, and there is a wealth of knowledge about this on the internet.
You can make iron-on decals, tattoos, and so much more!
Where can I get images to use with my Cricut?
The beautiful thing about the Cricut Design Space and its ability to host so
many different file types is that you can upload images from any source, so
long as you have the legal rights to use that image. Pulling images off of
Google Image Search is done amongst crafters, but if you’re selling the
design in any way, you will want to make sure that the images you’re using
are either open license or you’ve purchased them for use and distribution.
Do I have to buy all my fonts through Cricut?
Cricut Design Space has an option when looking through your fonts to use
fonts that are installed on your computer. This is called “System Fonts.”
Ant font you can buy or download can be used through Cricut Design Space
with little to no issues. There are many resources for this on the internet as
well.
However, if there is a font you’re using, do make sure that you have the
license to use the font for the purposes you have in mind for that font!
Fonts, just like pictures, do have copyrights and can be limited in what they
allow you to do with them.
Why is my blade cutting through my backing sheet?
This can be due to improper seating on the blade in the housing, so just pop
the housing out, re-seat the blade inside, reload, and try again. This can also
be due to an improper setting on the material dial. If you’re cutting
something very thin but have the dial set to cardstock, your needle could be
plunging right through the whole piece of material and its backing!
Why aren’t my images showing up right on my mat?
It is possible when you click “Make It” that the print preview of your
project doesn’t look anything like how you have it laid out in Design Space.
If this is the case, go back to Design Space, highlight all your images, click
“Group,” then click “Attach.” This should keep everything right where it
needs to be for all your project cutting needs!
I’m just getting started. Do I need to buy all of Cricut’s accessories
right away?
No, you won’t need all the accessories right at once, and some of them you
won’t ever need at all, depending on what crafts you intend to do with your
Cricut machine. In fact, you can use crafting items you likely already have
on hand to get started, buying tools and accessories here and there as you
get more use out of your machine! It is, by no means, necessary to spend a
small fortune on accessories and tools just to do your first Cricut crafting
project!
Which Cricut machines at compatible with design space?
The Cricut models that are currently compatible are all of the motorized
cutting machines they have on the market! This means the Cricut Explore,
Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Explore Air 2, and the Cricut Maker. You can use
all these tools with the current version of Design Space to create countless
projects for every style and occasion. Outdated machinery will need to be
tested with the application to see if they’re compatible, as Cricut does
provide regular updates for the application that could nullify that
compatibility over time.
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use design space?
Cricut Design Space is a web-based application that utilizes the cloud.
Because of this, you do need an active, high-speed internet connection in
order to make use of the application for your designs. However, the cloud
functionality gives you access to your account, your designs, your elements,
and everything within the Design Space from any device, anywhere in the
world, so long as you have an internet connection and your account
credentials.
Is my operating system compatible with Cricut Design Space?
Cricut Design Space is currently compatible with devices operating in the
latest systems for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. If you have questions
about your device’s compatibility with the latest plugin for Cricut’s Design
Space, simply visit their page on system requirements and see what is listed
there for you and the operating system you use.
Can I Use Design Space on My Chromebook?
Unfortunately, Cricut’s Design Space isn’t currently optimized for
compatibility with the Chromebook operating system. This is because the
need to download the plugin for the application is a current barrier for that
operating system, but this isn’t to say there is no possibility for
compatibility in the near future.
Can I use the Design Space on more than one of my devices?
Yes, thanks to Cricut’s web-based and cloud-based functionality, all of your
designs, elements, fonts, purchases, and images are accessible from any
device with an internet connection and your account credentials. This way,
it’s possible to start a design while you’re out and about for the day, then
wrap them up when you’re back in your crafting space.
How many times can I use an image I buy in the Design Space?
Any design asset or element you purchase through the design space is yours
to use as many times as you’d like while you have an active account with
Cricut Design Space! Feel free to cut as many of every image you’d like!
I accidentally welded two images. How do I unweld them?
Unfortunately, there is no dedicated unwell option currently available in
Design Space. If you weld an image, however, you can still click “Undo” if
you have not saved the changes to your project. It is recommended that you
save your images locally at each different stage, so you have clean images
to work with for every project.
Can I disable the grid in Cricut Design Space?
Yes, Design Space allows you to toggle grid lines. On a Windows computer
or a Mac computer, open the “Account” menu.
There are three stacked lines in the upper left-hand corner. Once you’ve
clicked that, select Settings; you will see the Canvas Grid options and can
select your preference. In the settings menu, you will also see Keyboard
shortcuts. Select it to view a keyboard shortcut for toggling gridlines off
and on.
When using the Design Space iOS App, the option for turning the gridlines
off and on is available under Settings at the bottom of the screen. You may
have to swipe left to view all of the options at the bottom of the screen.
How do I set design space to operate on the metric system?
On your computer (whether it’s Windows or Mac), click the three stacked
lines in the upper left-hand corner. From there, click “Settings.” In those
settings, you’ll see the option to set inches or centimeters as the default
measurement.
If you’re using Design Space on your mobile device, you will access your
settings from the bottom of your screen. You may need to scroll or swipe to
the left to view all your options, but this setting is available on mobile as
well!
What types of images can I upload through Cricut’s design space iOS
or Android apps?
Any images that are saved in the Photos or Gallery app on your Apple or
Android device can be uploaded! If you have SVG files saved, you can
upload those as well.
If you are trying to upload a. PDF or a.TIFF file, it should be noted that
Cricut Design Space does not support these.
Can I upload images through the Android app?
Yes! Cricut understands how crucial mobile accessibility is to its users, so
this feature has been made available on all platforms where you can access
Cricut Design Space, including Android!
How do I delete images I uploaded through the mobile app?
This is another great feature that can be accessed through any available
version of this platform, whether you have a Mac, PC, iOS, or Android
device! In order to complete this task on your mobile device, open the
design space app.
Select Upload in the bottom list of options; you may need to swipe to find
it. Once you’ve tapped on that, select Open Uploaded Images. Once you’re
in your uploaded images, find the one you wish to delete. Tap the Info
button, which is indicated with a green circle and a lowercase I. From here,
you will be able to delete your image with ease!
Are the “despeckle” and “smooth” tools available in Design Space for
Windows, Mac, and Android?
At the time of writing, these features are exclusive to the iOS platform. This
means that only Apple devices have this feature, and there is currently no
indication as to whether or not this is intended to change in the future.
Can I upload photos while I’m offline?
Uploading images can only be done with an active high-speed internet
connection. This is true of any platform you’ll work with that is based on
the web or the cloud. Once an image is uploaded, however, it can be
accessed and downloaded onto other devices for offline use.
Is it possible for me to upload sewing patterns that I have made to
Design Space?
If your sewing patterns are in any of the following formats, you will find
that you can upload them to the Cricut Design Space! Accepted formats are:
SVG, .JPG, .BMP, .PNG, .GIF, .DXF.
It should be noted that SVG files retain their designed size when uploaded
into the software, but all vectors are imported as cut lines. Then, once your
image is uploaded, if your pattern contains pattern markings that should be
drawn with a fabric pen, you will need to ensure that you change the
relevant lines to write lines and use the Attach tool so that they will write on
your pieces where you need them to write.
What is SnapMat?
SnapMat is an iOS-exclusive feature that allows you to give yourself a
virtual mat preview. This gives you the ability to line up your designs in
Design Space, so they’ll fit perfectly into what you have laid on your mat.
This feature allows you to place images and text over the snapshot of your
mat so you can see exactly how your layout should be in the Design Space.

Like I mentioned earlier, these are just a FEW of the hundreds of projects
you can make with your Cricut machines. There are still many project ideas
out there. Moreover, you can be creative enough to design a project by
inspiration. Some people created these projects, and there’s nothing
stopping you from inventing new crafts. The only limits exist, literally, in
your mind.
Now that you have learned how to set up and use your Cricut machine, it is
time to actually use it to bring those fantastic projects you have always
dreamed about to life. In this chapter, we will create a few projects using
the different tools and materials that you have learned about so far. We have
tried to include projects diverse enough to provide an exhaustive view of
the capabilities of your Cricut machine and to give you a good idea of what
possibilities exist in expressing your yet untapped creativity and
undiscovered potential.
Felt Roses
MATERIALS NEEDED:
SVG files with 3D flower design
Felt Sheets
Fabric Grip Mat
Glue Gun
STEPS:
First of all, upload your Flower SVG Graphics into the Cricut design
space as explained in the “Tips” section. (“How to import images into
Cricut Design Space)
Having placed the image in the project, select it, right-click and click
“Ungroup.” This allows you to resize each flower independently of
the others. Since you are using felt, it is recommended that each of the
flowers is at least 6 inches in size.
Create several copies of the flowers, as many as you wish, selecting
the colors you want in the Color Sync Panel (by dragging and
dropping the images onto the color you would want them to be cut
on). Immediately you’re through with that, click on “Make it” on the
Cricut design space.
Click on ”Continue.” After your Cricut Maker is connected and
registered, under the “materials” options, select “Felt.”
If your rotary blade is not in the machine, insert it. Next, on the Fabric
Grip Mat, place the first felt sheet (in order of color), then load them
into your Cricut Maker. Press the “cut” button when this is done.
After they are cut, begin to roll the cut flowers one by one. Do this
from the outside in. Make sure that you do not roll them too tight. Use
the picture as a guide.
Apply Hot Glue on the circle right in the middle and press the felt
flowers that you rolled up on the glue. Hold this in place, and do not
let it go until the glue binds it.
Wait for the glue to dry, and your roses are ready for use.
Customized Doormat
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Cricut Machine
Scrap cardstock (The color does not matter)
Coir mat (18" x 30")
Outdoor acrylic paint
Vinyl stencil
Transfer tape
Flat round paintbrush
Cutting mat (12” x 24”)
STEPS:
Create your design in Cricut Design Space. You can also download an
SVG design of your choice and import it into Cricut Design Space.
Make sure that your design is the right size; resize it to ensure that
this is so.
Next, you are to cut the stencil. You do this by clicking “Make it” in
Cricut Design Space when you are done with the design. After this,
you select “Cardstock” as the material. Then, you press the “Cut”
button on the Cricut machine.
When this is done, remove the stencil from the machine and weed.
Next, on the reverse side of the stencil, apply spray glue. After this,
attach the stencil to the doormat, exactly where you want your design
to be; then, pick up the letter bits left on the cutting mat and glue them
to their places in the stencil on the doormat.
The next step is to mask the parts of the doormat which you do not
want to paint on. You can do this using painters' plastic.
Now, it's time to spray-paint your stencil on the doormat. Keeping the
paint can about 5 inches away from the doormat, spray up and down,
keeping them can be pointed straight through the stencil. If it is at an
angle, the paint will get under the stencil and ruin your design. Spray
the entire stencil 2-3 times to make sure that you do not miss any part
and that the paint is even.
You’re just about done! Now, remove the masking plastic and the
stencil and leave the doormat for about one hour to get dry.
3d Paper Flowers (Paper)
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Cricut Machine
Cricut mat
Colored scrapbook paper
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
STEPS:
To make flowers, you need an appropriate shape for the petals. To
make such a shape, you can combine three ovals of equal size. To
create an oval, select the circle tool, then create a circle. Then click
the unlock button at the bottom of the shape. Once this is done, you
can reshape the circle to form an oval.
Duplicate this oval twice and rotate each duplicate a little, keeping the
bottom at the same point, as shown in the picture.
Select all three ovals and weld them together to get your custom petal
shape. For each large flower, you need 12 petals – each one about 3
inches long, while for each small flower, you need 8 petals – each one
about 2 inches long. For each flower, you also need a circle shape for
the base of about the same width as each petal. Arrange the petals and
base circle shape in Cricut Design Studio.
Set your material to cardstock on Design Space or on the machine,
depending on your machine, then cut the petals out.
After you cut out the petals, remove them and cut a slit about half an
inch long in the bottom of each one. Place a bit of glue on the left side
and glue the right side over the glue for each petal.
The next thing to do is to place the petals on the circle base. For large
flowers, you need three circles of four petals each. For small flowers,
you need five circles on the outside and three on the inside. Put a bit
of hot glue on the petal and add to the circle as described above.
For the center of the flowers, search Cricut Access for “flower” and
chose shapes with several small petals. Cut these out using a different
color of cardstock and glue to the center of the flowers.
STEPS:
The first step is to open your Luminary graphic on the Design Space.
Then go ahead to upload the SVG file of your Sugar Skull and adjust
its size to around 3.25” high. After doing that, move the Sugar Skull
to the bigger part of the Luminary graphic (in the middle of the two
score lines) and center-align it.
Select the Sugar Skull and the Luminary Graphic and then go ahead
and click on “Weld.”
Try selecting every graphic on the design space and click on “Attach.”
Then copy and paste the selected graphics on the same page
(duplication).
Select “Make It” at the topmost right-hand corner, and then ensure
everything is positioned correctly. Click on “Continue.” If you notice
the files being cut on two different mats, just move them back
together on one single mat by simply clicking on these three dots
located at the graphic corner.
Select “Light Cardstock” under the “Materials” menu, and then start
loading the Mat and Cut. Also, ensure that your Scoring Stylus is in
Clamp A. This will automatically change your machine settings from
scoring to cutting.
When the cut-out is done, fold it along the Score lines. Then start
gluing the small Flap to the interior part of the lantern’s back.
Switch on the Battery-Operated Tea Light, and then place your lantern
on top of it.

it to Rotary Wheel so that you can use it on the Faux Leather.
Similarly, place your Faux leather on your FabricGrip Mat, facing down.
Then load the Mat into the machine and tap the “Cut” flashing button.
Take away all the items on the Mat with your Scraper tool. Be careful
with the small fringes, though.
Make a hole on the top circle by making use of the Weeder tool.
Make sure the hole is large enough to make the Earring hooks fit in.
1.6: Tips and techniques to make perfect projects
The Cricut machine and software can indeed take a long time to master. But
considering all the capabilities of both the machine (the vast number of
materials it can work on) and the software (the unlimited number of designs
that can be done on Cricut design space), it's safe to say that it's all worth
the time and stress of learning. The design software is not as difficult as
many people claim; it's just that the software environment needs to be
explored on a serious level. The more you explore, the more you discover
easier ways to design. Although it may look a little complicated at the
beginning, you may even find the most elementary techniques a little bit
difficult. Nevertheless, you will start getting used to the environment better
when you start working on some projects discussed in previous sections. Be
assured that the design space has everything you may need to craft
remarkable projects. Moreover, there are several cool shortcuts that can
make your work much faster and well-organized.
The tips and techniques about to be shared below are from experiences
attained while working on the design space over time. Therefore, you
should rest assured that this is the real deal and not a bunch of redundant
tips from a novice. Let's get on the right with it.
To ensure clear communication, this section will be categorized into two
parts;
Design Canvas platform - where various projects are created and where
designs are modified.
Cut Screen platform – where settings are made on how materials are to be
cut.
2. Tailor Your Project Designs with Slice, Contour, and Weld: All
images, regardless of where they originated from (whether the ones
you uploaded by yourself or the ones you got from the image library),
can be changed, modified, and personalized endlessly, making use of 3
primary editing tools; Slice, Counter, and Weld. You will find all these
three tools at the lowermost right-side toolbar. These tools will
highlight only when their functions are accessible for a particular
design. At first, they may seem redundant as tools. Nevertheless, they
are very resourceful and are exactly what you need to fully personalize
your design. Find out more about these three tools deeply and utilize
them maximally.
3. Use Free Texts and Images: A lot of people try to refrain from
anything that requires them to pay before they can have access to it.
However, if you’re a dedicated crafter, you should definitely be an
admirer of the Cricut access membership. Many individuals who are
new to the Cricut system may, at first, not wish to spend their money
simply to practice how to cut on their Cricut machines. But if you have
just started learning about the whole system, really wish to personally
see your Cricut machine working effectively, and, at the same time,
save a lot of money on crafting costs, then it is advisable to make use
of the free resources provided within the Cricut design space.
To get free images: Make use of the “Filter" function within the design
space image library. For example, just choose the option that says "Free,"
and it will display all the images you can utilize in your projects without
paying any money.
To get free fonts: All Cricut machines are enabled to cut any type of font
that is pre-installed on the computer. This is not limited to preinstalled fonts
alone; it likewise cuts any font downloaded and installed on the computer
by the user from free sites such as DaFont or Free Squirrel. If you want to
look for fonts you can apply without incurring extra charges; you should
make use of "My Fonts" that is located in the filter menu under "Fonts."
This will display every available font that is installed on the computer,
along with every Cricut font that you might have purchased through Cricut
Access pass or from other sources. This proves to be an ideal way to make
sure you’re making use of fonts that won’t cost you anything.
You can make use of this feature any time you want to conserve your
materials. And if your maneuverer very well, you can fit more images on a
single mat than the design space initially lays out. Also, this proves to be an
ideal way of swiftly changing the color currently on any side of the design
without needing to leave the cut screen and manually change the design’s
color.
3. Re-cut or Skip Mats: This remains one of the coolest features of Cricut
Design Space. Much attention is not needed after sending your design for
cutting. Provided that you feed your Cricut machine with the right paper
size and color just as the cut screen displays it, your project will always
come out exactly the way it was designed. Nevertheless, you may notice
that you sometimes wish to re-cut a mat after the first time or skip the next
mat in line. Fortunately, you can easily do that without even having to exit
your cut screen.
However, this must be done before your mat is loaded into the Cricut
machine. You can choose a specific mat to cut next manually by simply
clicking/selecting the mat on the cut screen by the left side. The cutting
machine will automatically skip to the mat you manually.
Additionally, if you wish to re-cut a specific mat, even after there are cut-
marks on it indicating that it has already been worked on, go back to the cut
screen and choose the mat you wish to re-cut manually, and the machine
will automatically take care of the rest. However, you should be very
careful whenever you skip or re-cut your mats. Make sure you always
crosscheck if what you are loading into your Cricut machine matches the
highlighted mat on your cut screen. People slip up a lot when they skip or
re-cut mats without paying close attention.
4. Saving Commonly Used Materials: A lot of users always feel shocked
about how much they had missed whenever they discover this feature after
a long time of using Cricut software! You are really missing a lot if you are
not utilizing the “Custom materials” option. Most people, especially
individuals using the Cricut Explore Air 2 model, don’t use this feature
unknowingly because their machine is always set to Cardstock, Vinyl, Iron-
in, and so on. Only Cricut Maker model users can easily notice the Custom
materials option within the Cricut design space since there’s no option to
select the material you’re cutting.
You can now stop going through the stress of browsing through over 200
custom material menus to get the same and common Cardstock, Iron-on,
and Vinyl settings again and again. Just start adding all of them to the
“Favorite” box! That’s the trick! It will only take you some minutes to
browse through the “Materials” menu and pinpoint the materials you use
most frequently; click the star located under the “Materials” menu, then go
on and choose “Favorites” rather than “Popular” on the same menu. All you
will have left is a menu displaying every material you commonly cut.
That’s much more comfortable, right?
5. Setting how to Cut Different Materials: A lot of Cricut users often ask
questions on how they can specifically adjust their materials cutting
settings. For instance, some people set their machine to Vinyl and still
complain that the machine doesn’t cut through the material appropriately.
Fortunately, you can modify the cut settings for any material from the
“Materials” menu. You can set the blade, depth, number of passes, and so
on.
To apply these settings on your cut screen, choose the “Materials” option,
or if you are not using the Cricut Maker model, set your Cricut machine to
Custom mode. After doing that, select “Browse All Materials,” you’ll find
that at the top of the menu bar in green letters. You’ll then find another link
that says “Material Setting,” also in green letters at the lowest part.
When you have successfully made it to that point, you may now choose any
material you want and start adjusting the settings as you would prefer.
To avoid manual adjustments every time you discover that your machine is
not cutting through your material appropriately, simply adjust the material
settings once and for all.
6. Connecting Two or More Cricut Machines Simultaneously: Although
the average Cricut user does not usually have above one Cricut machine,
you can connect two or more machines to your Cricut design space account
at once. This can be done either via USB or Bluetooth on a wireless model.
Also, you don't have to be worried about your designs and the machines
getting mixed up when cutting. Regardless of the number of machines
connected to your design space account, Cricut makes sure that the first
step you perform on the concluding Cut Screen is to choose which one of
your machines you would like to use for the cutting. This option will come
in a dropdown menu at the top. This way, users can be sure they are making
use of the intended Cricut machine all the time for their project.
7. Easily Adjusting Cut Pressure: Although it is amazing to be capable of
adjusting the settings of your materials, all you need, sometimes, is a little
extra or a lesser amount of pressure to get your machine to cut through your
material efficiently. To adjust cut pressure, after selecting your choice
material on the concluding Cut Screen, change the pressure through the
provided dropdown menu. You can select the default pressure, increase or
decrease it. Through this method, you can easily and quickly adjust the
depth of your cutting without needing to mess around with the material's
custom settings.
8. Mirror Setting: There are times when users need to cut their designs in
reverse, especially when they’re working with Iron-on projects. This
reversing process is called “Mirror.” Even though you can always flip your
designs horizontally on your design canvas, there’s an option available to
mirror your designs while on the Cut Screen.
Doing this does not only allow you to "Mirror" the images/mats you wish to
flip around; it likewise enables you to build and modify your design without
flipping on the Design Canvas screen. This makes it more comfortable to
view and customize.
You should not overlook these instructions because they look subtle; they
are just measures of making sure you don’t waste time or materials.
Conclusion
You have almost all the information and knowledge at your fingertips, and
no one's taking that away from you. However, you need to practice
consistently. A little break and you might forget what's important. You
might get a bit frustrated at some points while practicing, but that doesn't
mean you should stop trying. Cricut is offering you much more than it's
demanding.
So, this is the end of the road. If you have mastered all the tips and
techniques provided in this book, then congratulations! To ensure you get
better faster, you can hang on to this book till you can handle things
yourself. Even after mastering the content, you should keep it close for
reference purposes. If you enjoyed this book, and if it assisted you in a lot
of ways in building your skills, then kindly leave your opinion for me on
Amazon. This book can also be recommended to people around you who
are new to the Design Space or are having issues working on the platform.

2.3 Get Started
How do I get started?
The Cricut Design Space software is an application that is run entirely from
the web. This means you will need an active internet connection in order to
use it, but downloading the plugin will allow you to jump in and use Cricut
Design Space from your device. You can download this plugin onto any
laptop or computer, log in with your credentials, and you can have access to
your designs from anywhere, so long as you have an active internet
connection.
When you first log into the Cricut Design Space, the prompts will ask you
what type of Cricut device you’d like to install. This will allow the
program to communicate with your device properly and layout your cuts
perfectly. Once you’ve done this step and your computer has identified the
proper device, you’ll want to click the “New Project” button in the upper
right-hand corner. This is where you’ll be prompted to download the
installer for the Cricut Design Space Plugin.
Opening the Design Space Plugin Installer for the first time will prompt you
to link your device to the Cricut machine. Establishing this connection
allows your computer and your Cricut device to communicate seamlessly.
Once this connection is established, you’ll be able to create projects
whenever you’d like. This means you can import images that you have
found in
other places, images you’ve created yourself, or you can use the images that
Cricut offers either for free or through Cricut’s paid Access subscription.
The first thing you need to know about Cricut Access is that you do not
need this subscription to use the Cricut Design Space. You can make use of
every aspect of your Cricut machine without ever signing up for Cricut
Access.
The benefits that one gets from a Cricut Access membership vary
depending on the subscription tier you choose. At the time of writing, there
are three tiers of membership available to the Cricut Access program.
Monthly - $9.99 per month
With the monthly Cricut Access subscription, you are granted the unlimited
use of over 400 fonts that are available in the Cricut Design Space,
unlimited, unrestricted use of over 90,000 images that you can use for any
design in the Cricut Design Space, 10% member savings on purchases from
Cricut’s website, including items that are already on sale, as well as a 10%
savings on licensed fonts and ready-to-make projects from supported brands
like Sanrio, Disney, Simplicity, and Anna Griffin.
Annual - $7.99 per month (billed once annually at $95.88)
With the monthly Cricut Access subscription, you are granted the unlimited
use of over 400 fonts that are available in the
Cricut Design Space, unlimited, unrestricted use of over 90,000 images that
you can use for any design in the Cricut Design Space, 10% member
savings on purchases from Cricut’s website, including items that are already
on sale, as well as a 10% savings on licensed fonts and ready-to-make
projects from supported brands like Sanrio, Disney, Simplicity, and Anna
Griffin. These are all available in the monthly tier of the subscription
service, and they’ve added access to a Priority Member Care Line, which
cuts wait times for customer support in half.
Premium - $9.99 per month (billed once annually at $119.88)
With the monthly Cricut Access subscription, you are granted the unlimited
use of over 400 fonts that are available in the Cricut Design Space,
unlimited, unrestricted use of over 90,000 images that you can use for any
design in the Cricut Design Space, 10% member savings on purchases from
Cricut’s website, including items that are already on sale, as well as a 10%
savings on licensed fonts and ready-to-make projects from supported brands
like Sanrio, Disney, Simplicity, and Anna Griffin, as well as access to a
Priority Member Care Line, which cuts wait times for customer support in
half. These are available with your annual subscription. In addition to this,
you get up to a 50% savings on licensed fonts, images, and ready-to-make
projects, and free economy shipping on all orders from Cricut’s website,
over $50.
These member perks can be beneficial if you’re going to be creating a lot of
projects in a short amount of time. Again, it is in no way required for users
to be Access members in order to take advantage of the Cricut Design
Space or its user-friendly user interface, but these are the substantial
rewards you can expect if you do sign up for membership!
How to load the cardstock onto the cutting mat? Load it with the marked
side up and vertical to the mat. It should be lined up in the left hand corner
underneath the ''Cricut'' sign.
How to load the mat into the machine? Follow the guidelines and press
the ''load/unload'' button in the upper right corner
How to insert the silver pen? Open clamp A, remove the cap and place the
pen with the tip facing down pushing until the arrow disappears. Close the
clamp.
The first thing that you’ll get when you launch the Cricut Design Space for
the first time is a very quick tutorial on how to insert a shape and how to fill
that shape with a colored pattern. Go ahead and run through that process a
few times until you’re familiar with where the various assets and options
are, so you can introduce a shape into the design Space, change the
Linetype, and change what the shape is filled with. This will act as a head
start for you in figuring out how to do more projects within the Cricut
Design Space!
Now that you’ve gotten a preliminary feel for some of the basics let’s run
through a project and get you familiar with the entire process.
As the first step, we’re going to select the “Text” option. In the text box that
appears, we’re going to type the phrase “Good Vibes” and pick a font in the
Design Space that you like. Do remember that some of the fonts in that list
will have a cost. If you’re looking for free fonts exclusively, you can choose
the “System Fonts,” which are the fonts that are already installed on your
computer.
Once you’ve chosen a font that fits your vision for this project, ensure that
the “Linetype” is set to “cut.” Once you’ve made certain of this, you can
click “Make it” in the upper right-hand corner and follow the prompts. If
your design looks right on the screen that pops up, you’ll follow these next
steps.
Using the measurements at the top of the Design Space, cut a piece of vinyl
that is adequately-sized to accommodate your design. Get your light blue or
light-grip Cricut Maker mat and line up your vinyl so your design will print
on it. Make adjustments to where your design is in the Design Space if you
need to!
Once you have your vinyl where you need it, use the rounded back of your
scraper/burnishing tool to smooth the vinyl down on the gripped surface,
working from the middle out toward the edges. Ensure that the piece is
lying flat with no bubbles or wrinkles, so you get the crispest and precise
cuts possible.
Now that your vinyl is lined up on your mat select the “vinyl” setting on
your Cricut Explore model. Slide your mat under the white holding
brackets. Once it’s there, click “Continue” on the bottom right of the Cricut
Design Space. The site will communicate with your machine, and you’ll be
prompted to hit the double arrow button. This will lock the mat into place.
Once the Cricut C button is blinking, press it once and watch it work its
magic! Once the machine has completed its cut, remove the mat from the
machine and bring it to your crafting space. Using the rounded back of your
scraper/burnishing tool, smooth the entire surface of the vinyl on your mat.
This will help the carrier sheet hold onto the parts of your design that you
don’t want to weed.
Once you’ve thoroughly rubbed the entire piece, use your weeding tool to
pick up the blanks around your letters. The background, the circles in your
O and G, all the things you don’t want to stick to your laptop. Once only the
letters remain on the carrier sheet, cut an appropriately-sized piece of
transfer tape. Using the back of your scraper, smooth the transfer tape down
onto the entirety of your design. Once you’ve got a good grip on your
design, peel the tape back from the carrier sheet.
Using some rubbing alcohol, clean the space on your laptop where you
intend to place your design. Once it’s completely clean, lay the design
where you want it and rub it into place using the back of your scraper.
Carefully peel back your transfer sheet to reveal your new design and
admire your handiwork! You’ve just completed your first Cricut project!
Look at you go.
2.4 Tools and Software for Explore Air 2
Cricut has different models of die-cutting machines, and for a beginner, you
may be confused about the type that is best for you in the course of crafting.
Look no further as I have you covered. I have four machines (Cricut Maker,
Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Explore Air, and Cricut Explore One) to give
insight into their strength and weaknesses while making up your mind to
which one of them you will work with.
The type of Cricut machine you may wish to get depends on the type of
project you want to use it for. All Cricut machines have certain things in
common, including cut, right, and score, a 12” wide cutting area size, can
cut a variety of materials, use Design Space software, and “Print Then Cut”
feature. What stands them out are the differences between them as will be
discussed:
Double /Single Tool Holder: the main tool holder is what you see when you
open the lid of the Cricut machine, designed to move back and forth on the
carriage. A double tool holder allows you to write and cut in one step, while
a single tool holder will do the same function in separate steps. Among the
four mentioned Cricut machines, only Cricut Explore One has a single tool
holder while the rest has a double tool holder.
Adaptive Tool System: this is a recent addition to the Cricut machine and
available only to Cricut Maker. The adaptive tool system delivers more
power to the cutting force (4 kg), which is ten times more than the nearest
versions to it; uses a steering system to control the direction of the blade,
adjust the pressure of the blade automatically with each cut pass, and uses a
new set of tools and accessories for diverse cuts.
Fast Cutting Mode: this mode is used to write and cut materials twice as
fast, especially when producing large quantities of materials. This feature is
common to Cricut Maker and Explore Air 2.
Cutting with Bluetooth: this feature is common to the Cricut Maker,
Explore Air 2, and Explore Air. You can use it to cut your material without
using a cable.
All models of Cricut machines have a slot for cartridge and can be linked to
your Design Space account to have access to your cartridge graphics.
Newer models like the Cricut Maker come with a digital Design Space
library instead of the physical cartridge, and if you need to connect a
physical cartridge with it, you will need to buy a separate cartridge adapter.
Tips on How to Use the Cricut Explore Air Effectively Test the material
you wish to cut first before starting the real project. This will ensure the
smooth delivery of the project without encountering any problems. Look
out for materials such as fabric, wood, or felt because they can pose all sorts
of trouble during the cutting process.
Roll the Cricut mat backward away from the material you have finished
cutting instead of peeling the material away from the Cricut mat. This will
give you a project cut with precision.
Always clean your Cricut mat after you finish a project. Use a lint roller
over the Cricut mat to remove leftovers of dirt and lint from the surface of
the mat.
Organize your blades and knives separately. This will help you apply the
correct blade or knife for a particular project. Mixing them up may cause
you to use an inappropriate blade for a project which might lead to damage
or blunting the blade.

projects that won't ever get wet (kitchen labels, canvases, signs, etc.).
Premium Outdoor/Permanent – Comes in matte, gleaming, metallic, pearl,
and more. For any outside projects or activities that may get wet (vehicle
window decals, mugs, tumblers, and so on).
Premium Removable – For any task in which you need to remove and/or
throw away the vinyl later (holiday window clings, for example). (Quick
note: this vinyl is removable for as long as two years after you initially
apply it. However, it can't be reused. If you don't end up removing it, it will
essentially function as basic vinyl.)
Patterned – Comes with printed structures on the vinyl itself. Use it
anywhere you'd use basic or removable vinyl.
Sparkle, Holographic, and Adhesive Foil – Comes in heaps of gleaming,
sparkly colors. Use it wherever you'd use basic or removable vinyl, but
want to add some gleam, shimmer, and sparkle.
Stencil – Clear, glue-backed vinyl that is ideal for making your stencils to
use on wood, canvas, paper, plastics, and more!
- Iron-On
Basic – Comes in matte, shiny, and metallic. Works incredibly well on the
most available variety of base materials, including wood, and can be
layered! In general, iron-on projects include shirts, tote bags, onesies, caps,
home decorations, frills, and so forth.
Foil, Holographic, and Glitter – For any project, you would use everyday
iron-ons for, but that you want to add some gleam, shimmer, and sparkle
too.
Patterned – Comes with printed designs on the iron-on itself. Use anyplace
you'd use everyday iron-ons.
Sports Flex – Thin, lightweight iron-on that stretches and flexes. Ideal for
iron-on projects on activewear and tech fabrics like polyester and nylon.
- Paper
Scrapbook – Comes in every shading and pattern possible for most paper
ventures, including cards, scrapbook pages, party decorations, and so forth.
Foil Embossed, Pearl, and Sparkle/Shimmer – For any paper venture for
which you would use Scrapbook paper.
Cardstock – Comes in a vast array of colors and sparkle alternatives, too,
for most paper projects (greeting cards, school projects, event decorations,
and so forth).
Posterboard – Comes in many different colors and foil hues. For projects
where you need a thicker, increasingly solid paper (blessing boxes, school
projects, standards, and so on).
- Maker-Only Materials
If you have a Cricut Maker, there are some additional materials that this
model of Cricut can cut!
Chipboard – Super strong board for projects that need a great deal of help
(gift boxes, photograph outlines, labels)
Leather – Both genuine leather and faux leather for leather projects
(satchels, belts, hair bows).
Felt – Medium-weight felt for any felt project (children's artworks, infant
accessories, stuffed shapes).
Corrugated cardboard – Comes with planning level sheets and corrugated
ones for projects in which you need to include size or surface (3D projects,
designs, children’s artworks, cards, scrapbooking).
Kraft Board – Sturdy, substantial weight paper that doesn't break, tear or
leave white score marks. For any paper project in which you need some
additional strength (gift boxes, packs, photo frames, tags, banners).
Recommendable Websites
Dafont and 1001freefonts are amazing websites where you can find tons of
fonts that you can make use of to create even more epic designs. If you
have searched through the design space and you have not been able to see
something that piques your interests, or you just need to try out something
new, you may want to visit those platforms and see what they have in store
for you. Also, you will find a lot of support groups on Facebook where you
can find a lot of helpful information in regards to your creative journey with
the machine you have just acquired. Join these groups, and be sure to be an
active member of them. You will see that there are some things that may
bother you that can be a walkover for another person; all you need to do is
reach out. Furthermore, these platforms serve as hosting sites for a ton of
helpful tools that can even unclog your creativity even more. Find them as
pinned documents, helpful DIY tips, post and comment threads, and in all
other formats as they come. The goal is to make sure that you do not try to
do this on your own.
Stenciling Tips
Want to do some stenciling, but you are not sure where and how you can get
started?
There’s no need for you to be confused when you can make use of freezer
paper to create custom stencils for your projects. With the Cricut Explore
Air 2, you can get to cut the paper and fashion it into some custom-design
stencils for your projects.
Make Use of Tin Foils to Sharpen Your Blades.
Notwithstanding how careful you are with the blades and how you do not
mistake them for cutting different materials, it is not possible for your
blades not to get to a point where they become blunt and weak. When your
blades get blunt, a great way to get them up and running once again is by
making use of tin foils to sharpen them. By sharpening with tin foil, you
can extend the life of your blade almost by x3. Sharpening is very simple;
all you need to do is to unclamp the blade and run the tip of the blade
through the tin foil between 10-15 times.
Using Pens Other Than the Cricut Pens to Write
Next to the Cricut pens, there are a ton of other brands that you can make
use of, even with your machine. They include:
Uni-ball Signo UM-153.
Tombow Dual brush pens.
Sakura gelly roll.
Bic marking and Bic crystal. Pilot Precise.
The list is basically endless. The best part is that for all these pens, you can
find them online, and with just a few dollars, you can have them added to
your bucket list of pens to work with. However, to make use of these pens
with your machine, you need a pen adapter. Pen adapters work for the
Explore Air 2 or newer models of the Cricut machine. With these, you can
connect any brand of Cricut pens and draw/write away.
Increase Your Image Options by Learning How to Make Your Own
SVG Files Online.
While the design space and the internet provide you with endless numbers
of images, you will agree that there are those times when even the most
intricately designed picture does not quite cut it; it does not do justice to
what you want to create. Under these circumstances, you need to learn how
to bring your inner genius to life.
Using Inkscape, you can create your own SVG files from scratch or convert
your boring pictures to two-layered SVG files. Inkscape is a free tool that
you can make use of, and making use of it is relatively easy.
2.7 Cricut Explore Air 2 project ideas
There are thousands of Cricut Explore project ideas. The reason is simple,
for every idea, there are diverse modifications that can be done to add
glamour and color to the project, but it is the same idea. Here, I have
discussed some of the best ideas available that you can develop to bring life
into your craft. So, take your time to study them and built on the
knowledge.
Among the projects you can do with your Cricut machine, I am super
excited about this one; T-shirt. Maybe, because I wear it always or because
of the different creative expressions on it or the fact that it is a money-
spinning business concept, I hope that by the time you go through this step
by step approach, you will be as excited as I am. Let me begin the step by
step approach:
1. Open a new project on your Canvas.
2. Click on Templates to picture your projects. Under Templates are
different T-shirt designs, including Classic T-shirt, V-neck T-shirt,
wide neck T-shirt, etc. Click on anyone you prefer.
You can alter the color using the Toolbar in the top corner of your screen.
This will help you to picture your design properly.
So, if you are using a black T-shirt, change the color to black.
1. To get an image of the T-shirt, click on Images. Type in the text that
defines your image in the top right corner of the search box. For
instance, unicorns. Use the filter to thin down your search, click on
Pintables, then click on your preferred Unicorn image, and insert it to
your Canvas.
2. If you can’t find an image that suits you, there is another substitute;
Google. Navigate to Google and search for a unicorn, select images,
and there are lots of them to choose from. Right-click on it and save it
to your device. The only problem with this method is that it is only
for personal use; if you wish to sell it, then you will require a
commercial license for that. To use your downloaded image in your
Canvas is super simple:
3. Click Upload
4. Click Upload Image.
5. Search for the downloaded image and open it.
6. Click on Complex.
7. Click Continue.
8. Clean the unicorn image.
9. Click the preview button to picture your final cut image.
10. Click Continue.
11. Select Print and Cut images and then click Save.
12. Select the image you just uploaded in the library, then click
Insert images.
13. If you wish, you can print your customized image without
using designed images in the library or online download.
How you do that is very simple:
1. Click Shapes.
2. Choose any image of your choice. For instance, heart.
3. Take the image over the T-shirt and resize it to 6.5” or less.
4. Go to Fill menu and select Print.
5. Fill your shapes with different patterns on the Design.
6. Space by clicking on the Grey button at the top left side of the
window, select pattern from the dropdown menu to show super
amazing patterns.
7. Use any of the images that satisfy your design goal and edit it.
8. You can customize your image using text. Select Text, type in the
letters, word, or sentence, then select your desired fonts.
9. Move the text, word, or sentence over your image and
10. Resize it.
11. Your Print Then Cut images will be shown on the Layer’s
panel.
12. Resize the image to fit in your T-shirt. Traditionally, your
Print Then Cut image size should be equal to or smaller than 6.7” x
9.2”.
13. Drag it to the middle of your T-shirt.
14. If your unicorn image has more than one layer, then you need
to flatten it. To do that require that you select all the layers in the
Layer’s panel and click Flatten in the bottom right corner of your
screen.
15. Delete all layers except the default flattened layer.
16. Go to the Line Type menu on top of the window to make sure
that the first box is set to Cut and the fill box is set to Print.
17. Click Make It to display the mat preview area with a black
box border.
18. Click Continue to move to the Print and Cut page.
19. You can use any of these fabrics: transfer medium for light-
colored fabrics or medium for dark-colored fabrics.
For light-colored fabrics, you need to mirror your image. Open a new
window by clicking the Edit link in the top left corner of the window. On
the new window, make sure that your image is toggled, and then click
Done.
For dark colored medium, you do not need to mirror your image. So, set it
to Off.
1. Click Send to Printer and make sure that Add Bleed option is enabled.
Click the advance option and ensure that the quality is set to high
quality, transfer medium type set to the appropriate one, and finally
click on Print to send it to your printer.
2. The inkjet printer is recommended for this project.
Do not use a laser printer because it is not compatible with this project.
Select the correct transfer medium for the printer and load it into the printer.
Put your transfer medium properly so that you do not print on the wrong
side.
1. Now, go back to the Design Space, click on Browse All Materials,
look for printable iron-on, choose your desired transfer medium, and
then click Done.
2. Put the transfer medium in the left corner of your mat, load it into
your Cricut machine, and then cut your decal.
3. Carefully weed your printed transfer medium beginning from the
external transfer medium around your decal. Do not remove the decal
from the back if you wish to use the light-colored transfer medium.
For a dark-colored transfer medium, you only remove your decal from
the back.
4. Now, it is time to iron-on the decal onto your T-shirt. There are two
methods to do the iron-on subject to the transfer medium.
5. For light-colored transfer medium: press the front of your T-shirt first,
then place a decal on the T-shirt with the backing facing you. Make
sure that the decal is placed in the middle of your T-shirt. Use your
Easy Press to press the decal onto your T-shirt gently, for about two
minutes, at 300ºC. Remove the backing immediately after you finish
your ironing using Easy Press.
6. For dark-colored transfer medium: The first thing to do is press your
T-shirt, then place your decal on it with the decal facing you. Cover
the decal with tissue paper, set the Easy Press to 300ºC, then place the
Easy Press over the tissue paper for about 30 seconds. Remove the
iron and the tissue paper to reveal your decal on your T-shirt. If the
edges are not properly attached to your T-shirt, repeat the ironing
again for another 30 seconds.
Cutting Letters
1. First of all, you need to add the text you want to cut. Click “Add Text” on
the left panel of the canvas.
2. Place text in the area where you want to cut it. Highlight the text and
click on the slice tool. If you have multiple lines of text, weld them and
create a single layer. Then, use the slice tool.
3. Move the sliced letters from the circle and delete the ones you don't need.
How to Make Simple Handmade Cards
If you want to test your crafting skills, the Cricut Explore Air 2 has made it
possible for you to be creative with designing whatever you want to create
on the Design Space. We will be teaching you how to use your Cricut
Explore Air 2 to make simple cards.
1. Log into Design Space with your details. Do this on your Mac/Windows
PC.
2. On the left-hand side of the screen, select "Shapes." Add the square
shape.
3. By default, there is no rectangular shape, so you have to make do with
the square shape. However, you can adjust the length and width. You can
change the shape by clicking on the padlock icon at the bottom left of the
screen. Change the size and click on the padlock icon to relock it.
4. Click “Score Line” and align.
5. Create your first line. It's advisable you make it long. Use the "zoom in"
option for better seeing if you are having difficulties with sight.
6. Select the first line you have created and duplicate. It's easier that way
than creating another long line. You will see the duplicate option when you
right-click on your first line.
7. Follow the same duplication process and create a third line.
8. Rotate the third line to the bottom so that it connects the other two
parallel lines you earlier created. Remember to zoom in to actually confirm
the lines are touching.
9. Duplicate another line, just like you did the other. Rotate it to the top so
that it touches the two vertical parallel lines. You should have created a big
rectangular shape.
10. Highlight your rectangular shape (card). Select “Group” at the upper
right corner.
11. Now, change the “Score” option “cut.” You can do this by clicking on
the little pen icon.
12. Your lines will change from dotted to thick straight lines.
13. Select the "Attach" option at the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
The four lines will be attached and will get the card ready to be cut on the
mat correctly.
14. You can adjust the size of the card as you like. At this point, you can
add images or texts; beautify your card anyhow you want it.
15. After you are done, select the "Make it" button and then "Continue" to
cut your card out.
If you don’t know how to create a style on your cards with shapes, follow
these simple steps to create one.
1. Select your choice of shape. Let’s choose stars, for example. Select the
“Shape” option and click on the star.
2. Add two stars.
3. Select the first star and click “Flip,” and then select “Flip Vertical.”
4. Align both stars to overlap them at the centre.
5. Select “Weld” to make a new shape and add a shoreline.
6. Align them at the centre and attach them.
7. Select the “Make it” button and then “Continue” to cut your card out.
If you don’t know how to add text or write on a card, follow the processes
below.
1. Select your choice of shape. Let’s choose a hexagon, for example.
Select the “Shape” option and click on the hexagon shape.
2. Use your favorite pattern.
3. Add a scoring line and rotate it.
4. Click "Add Text." A box will appear on the canvas or work area of your
project. Write your desired text. Let's say you choose to write "A Star Is
Born Strong" and "And Rugged" on the two hexagonal shapes. Choose the
fonts and style of writing.
5. Select the first text and flip vertically or horizontally.
6. Select the second text and flip vertically. Click “Flip” and select flip
vertically. Doing this will make the text not look upside down.
7. Select the “Make it” button and then “Continue” to cut your card out.
Follow the cutting process on the screen to full effect.
In this canvas area, every single tool is going to be covered. The screen into
bits is divided to keep things clear and quick to understand.
Pink color Top panel - Editing Area.
Purple color Main Canvas
Green color Right Panel - Layers Panel
Blue color Left Panel- Insert Area
In the Design Space, the top panel, which is pink, is where you'll modify
and place items on the canvas. Where you select your type of font, adjust
object size, arrange or rotate objects, distribute objects, and perhaps more.
This panel is also where the machine setting, account records, calibration,
save the project, favorite material, and press the magnificent "Make It" key
is accessed.
The Three bars from the far left are a toggle menu that brings you all the
details regarding your account, system data, calibrations, list of the primary
material, etc.
NEW Computer Configuration will be the most critical thing at this stage if
you've not accomplished so yet. CRICUT ACCESS will be the 2nd leading
significant.
You would like to use cut files throughout the Cricut store if you're not
using files you've ordered from many other sites or if you wouldn't
understand how and when to layout your original files anymore.
Top bar Menu
Project Name: This will tell *Untitled each anytime you launch a fresh
project. You have not defined or save the design yet. Compared to a Text
file or a Pdf File, it is an empty folder.
My Projects: Once you press on this page, any design you have previously
saved or created will be brought to you. This field should be organized, and
projects that have not succeeded or realize will not be reworked in the
future can be removed.
The great thing about this portion is that almost all of the design elements
are now stored and prepared to go whenever you think you would like to
remake a piece no reason for the wheel to be reinvented.
Save: After you have placed anything on the canvas, this choice would be
open. Once you have a concept feature ready to go, it will stay greyed out.
You can save periodically, like something you layout or function on.
Design Space is on the web, but autosave is NOT trusted by it. In most
unexpected times, it can glitch on you like every type of technology.
Create it You can press on this button then your computer will take you
thru the phase of loading any mats and completing your cut design when
you're already done changing your template, identifying cut lines & score
lines.
Let's have an object on the canvas, but instead, when you learn further later,
you may follow through and play with editing options.
Shapes, photos, and templates-left panel
Upon this left-hand side, the board would be where you introduce a new
project, view your past ventures, and use designs and photographs on our
canvas, although with the Cricut cutting tool to modify and build.
Starting at the peak, let's turn our attention down.
Template: In this segment, check for designs so that you could see how the
material will appear in your design.
So many objects to mention here are already plenty more. Placards, shorts,
aprons, plates, benches, backpacks, etc. NOTE: it would not hack out the
prototype either. To support your design, it is only there for you.
Projects: It will enable the previously saved projects browser. Super useful
if you'd like a project to be redesigned. No reason for the entire thing to be
redesigned by scratch.
This one has a broken menu so that you might select a design from the
Cricut projects' Vast collection like pages for drawing, free projects for
various computers, ready to make items, toys, baby products, etc.
If you'd rather be innovative and can't develop a design, then that's the place
to be motivated.
There may be a "Green A" within Cricut Access to indicate the projects are
open. You will also visit your collection of favorite projects once you are
willing to build a concept.
Images: This segment deals with PROJECTS in a related manner. You can
browse through CATEGORY, IMAGE, or CARTRIDGE for a selection of
cut files to select from.
There are collections of photos in the CARTRIDGE option that you will
need to buy separately. They aren't all included on the Cricut Access.
Registered trademark labels are generally not seen in the chart.
Text: This is the method you pick if you want to apply a form to the canvas.
Press the text key and then begin texting in the tiny window that appears on
the canvas.
Shapes: Those would be the fundamental shapes. To build intricate art
pieces, you could use these as the essential components they are or mix and
match things. Just the creativity limits you. Just note that only these simple
shapes make up all the beautiful pictures and art.
Triangle
Square
Star
Heart
Pentagon
Octagon
Hexagon
A Score Line will be the last thing on this menu. That's how you'll apply a
line to your template and get it graded for folding by your machine. It
works well with any page art where delicate folds require scored lines.
Area canvas
It is the crucial field of construction (purple job area) and how all the
components and artifacts that bring up the concept can be seen.
To control the template and plan it for drawing, cutting, and scoring, you
can press on design elements and use the following instruments and
features.
Rulers & Grid of Canvas:
The canvas is split into some grids.
A visual depiction of the cutting pad is a canvas. Whatever you see upon
this screen can be moved in one form or the other form.
You could do this by pressing that TOGGLE button in the top left corner
and then choosing Parameters if you decide to adjust sizes from inches to
centimeters.
Also, for design space, the window will appear with all your possible
choices. Set the whole thing up in such a way that fits with your artistic
style and for you.
Choosing
By checking at the blue bounding box covering the piece, you could see
which surfaces you have picked. For each of the four corners, there seems
to be a different way to adjust the range. You may also modify or control an
item when chosen using the Cricut Layer Attribute section, mostly on the
right-hand side.
The corner on the upper left would be a red X. By tapping upon this button.
A bent arrow is in the top right-hand corner. To flip your template around
the middle axis, you will use this corner.
The lock would hold your photo in accordance with the bottom-left corner.
Do NOT activate this until a skewed picture is fine with you. It's safer to
enable it only when you've had to work with simple shapes.
The right lower corner is really for resizing. To render the item bigger or
smaller, press and move on this corner. To calculate the scale you like, use
your scale and instructions (or the bottom-up numbers in the toolbar). That's
just one method to do if you are curious when to resize a Cricut Design
Space picture.
There are often dimensions of a fading black color around the collection
box's sides that display the element's current size.
Menu editing
This section of the menu is this program's main course. This is where you're
going to modify, arrange, customize fonts, adjust objects, etc. Much of the
items on your canvas region operate upon that menu.
1. Undo & Redo: In certain programs and applications, this toolbar function
is a common method. If you change so that you do not like or make an
error, press the undo icon.
When you explore, it is also a perfect safety net. Check the tool panel for
something different. Click the delete button whenever you do not want it.
The icon for redo functions similarly; if you create a modification, reverse
it, and then determine that you'd like to continue changing nature, you will
go back to it without needing to go through the process. This applies if you
intend to "step ahead" to undo the shift on which you backed off.
2. Font: You may select any font you like in the drop-down when you press
on this panel. If a font seems to have a green A symbol beside it, you
should use that font when you have Cricut Access.
If you're not using Cricut Access, you'll need your computer device to use
fonts. Or else, when you submit your idea to the cutting unit, you will be
paid.
3. Style: Including Word and Google Docs, this is just like that. You should
style the font after you've picked it. Normal, Italic, Bold, & Bold Italic are
alternatives.
Normal — That's the standard font mode. If you select one of the
configurations and choose to switch back to the standard font layout, you'll
need this option to reset your font.
Bold- a thicker font version is this.
Italic: tilts the font towards the right.
Bold Italic-Thicken and slants the font.
Font Size: That's when the font size can shift. To change the font size, you
may use this app. In the canvas region, you can also only move and resize
the font to dynamically see how your design shifts to bring it into a place
where you want it.
4. Linetype & Fill: Right now, all the strength of your computer and mad
awesome craftiness is happening. It might be perfect if you tell your printer
that you'd like to print and afterward cut, sketch a line, rate a bar, or trim a
line here.
Linetype: there can be a drop-down menu that helps you to adjust the sort
of row you want to build for your Cricut. Through a set of scissors, cutting
occurs, drawing is being used in Cricut pens, even with a rating stylus and
perhaps a rotary wheel, the performance occurs.
Cut-this seems to be the standard lenitive, and you will be provided with all
the items, mostly on canvas. The other way it would not be an alternative is
to post a JPG / PNG image of your own. You'll need to decide which sort of
line you like. Using CUT-designated lines ensures your computer can cut
along those same lines as you click the Render IT switch.
Drawing- If you choose this as your line form, your computer will question
you about reloading a pen, and in whichever color pen you want, it will
sketch out the pattern. The machine would imitate the pen's lines to reveal
whatever you want on the canvas when you press MAKE IT.
Score- The scoring tool may be used by other Cricut appliances (just like a
pen). When you choose this choice, all your lines will be scratched then the
machine would grade the lines, never cut them off.
Fill: This choice is for printing and templates, which you might apply to
your design. It should be used when users have chosen CUT as the form of
line time.
No Fill: The default option is No Fill, and it informs the machine you're not
going to use the print & cut function on your job.
Print: Printing is an alternative that requires you to print a template on your
household electrical printer and then make your machine cut out the
exterior of the layout (or other components). When you're about to create
party supplies for the 80-100 visitors, that's the choice that prevents your
time.
Goodbye to sore hands and scissors.
5. Select All: That's the tool you're going to use to choose anything on the
canvas. You may transfer and rearrange as required until you have all of
them picked.
6. Edit: The CUT, paste, and COPY commands can be contained here. To
view that drop-down menu, click the button and display the three choices.
This tool will only be enabled if you do have an element picked on the
canvas.
7. Align: It would preserve your sanity by utilizing this tool. Get acquainted
with it, and it is your greatest buddy in the design world. You will often
pass those abilities to more advanced designing software similar to Adobe
Illustrator throughout the future if you master these resources. In Design, In
Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and other professional software programs,
you may find all these resources.
To open the drop-down, press on the ALIGN icon and see all of your
choices. In the picture below, you can see plenty of numerous versions of
this tool.
Align Left: here, all elements you have chosen would align with the
farthest object on the left around the left side.
Align Center: all selected objects will be aligned along with their
centerline if you use this tool.
Align Right: selected components would all be aligned with the right edge
of the farthest element to the right.
Align Top: all the chosen elements are paired with their top edge and go to
the top object on a canvas.
Center Vertically: This option aligns all of your chosen objects in a row
and aligns them to a middle.
Align Bottom: All desired objects are associated with the object nearest to
the bottom of its canvas or aligned around the lower end of the object.
Center: This choice would pull all of the chosen elements and align them
either horizontally or vertically with their middle. It sucks all of them at
once on their center point, literally.
That's when it gets interesting. Every one of these collections of shapes was
uniformly distributed.
Distribute – you can spread out artifacts with the right distance across each
element that uses this option. Mostly on the left, shift the first object where
you like it. Mainly on the right, move the 3rd object where you like it. Pick
at least three elements (including that of the left and right components) and
press the DISTRIBUTE icon. They would also be equally spaced out.
Gorgeous.
Distribute Horizontally – This click will spread the chosen objects
(three or more). Your furthest element would calculate spacing on the left
with your most distant element on the right. Inside the center, all other
elements would be positioned equally.
Distribute Vertically – operates so same method as the horizontal key,
except from top to bottom it would disperse your objects. Arrange one
element at the highest, and the other at the lowest, and then equally spread
the remaining components here between two.
8. Arrange: You'll have to try to organize and decide which element is in
front of the other whether you have more than one thing on the canvas.
That's the method you will use to coordinate which component should be at
the very forefront and which component has to be transferred to the very
bottom.
It's quick to work out which one moves in front, and another comes to the
back since you only need two components. You can need to pass an entity
back after Ten or more objects as you get several elements. That is when it
gets strong with this tool.
This tool's awesome thing is to get the feature drawn on the glass through
layers of glass. To the elements behind, you will see through the surface.
To make the template more attractive, you can need to shift an element
forward and then backward. The element (on one's sheet of glass) is picked,
and the stack order is rearranged.
Now that it's 3 bits below the center instead of sitting on the top of the pile.
You could see on the canvas with either a particular-colored shape:
Send back – This informs the objects you picked to go behind Many other
elements on the canvas.
Step Backward - Use the choice even one step back to change the target.
It's going to pass behind another object. This option can be used as many
times as possible whenever you need to. It would have to go back behind
three objects, but not all the way backward.
Step Forward - This option functions the same way, except this time, you
step the object in front of the element that is on your canvas immediately in
front of it.
Send to Front - The chosen part moves towards the front of the template.
9. Flip: Based on the location you want to flip the element; this tool can
represent your picture around the vertical or horizontal axis.
If you'd like a design feature facing the opposite way or to provide a
shadow, you can use this method to (think reflection). When you need a
perfectly aligned template, it also functions well.
Whether you are like me, but you're still perfectly capable of drawing one
side of a heart, just not the other, then this method is for you. Copy a picture
of yours. Paste that and then transform the picture to the other direction, use
the FLIP HORIZONTAL function. You should scoot both and solder
themselves together now because you have a complete heart.
10. Letter Space & Line Space: With your fonts, these two tools can be
used. Using the letter space function, whether you have characters that
require more spacing (left to right) among them. You will prefer to be using
the line space method if you like more spacing among the lines of text.
These techniques may also be used to squish the letters or lines close
together.
11. Size: Any entity seems to have its proportions and size on the canvas.
To acquire exact dimensions, you may use this method. It's a more accurate
method to resize an element.
In the middle, the "lock" symbol indicates that it holds the model
proportional. If the part is a picture that should not be skewed, this is very
significant. It will appear wonky if you change its width and not its height.
Do not activate anything until you can change one axis without altering the
other unless there's a picture more like a rectangle or something, but it won't
screw up the picture. Or else, you wind up with a picture of the 'house of
mirrors.'
12. Alignment: It is much like software for word processing that is used
for the text. The text can be aligned to a left, middle, and right.
13. Curve: to place the text on the curve, you can use this tool. To build a
curve high or low, move the slider to the left or right sides. Moving this
from one hand to the other would create a total loop for your text—several
of the best ways to place text on the path.
14. Advanced: You are not certain why they label "advanced" to this tool.
That's just a nice way of separating the document and arranging it.
By choosing this choice, Ungroup to Letters would place each of the letters
within your phrases or word out of its different layers.
Every other line would be divided into its layers by Ungrouping Lines
When in a section you have several lines, these will be divided into a layer
for each line, and now you can shift these along if you want (perhaps one to
the left, one to the center & the right or across an object).
When you have picked a font with several layers (assume shadow and
borders), you may ungroup that font and control the document's numerous
layers. Ungroup for Layers You do not like the shadow, or you've got to
adjust its color. The method to use will be this.
15. Rotate: pick an element and then use that tool to set the degrees to tilt or
turn it. You would want it to lie on the side or spin at 180 °. That button
should help you adjust the object's angle.
16. Position: That's the object's location on your canvas. Whenever you
need to bring it nearer the top (but it's not accurate enough to push it using
the mouse), you may use these dimensions to adjust its location and put it
where you need it.
Right panel – All other Layers & Much more Tools
Though in case you are skimming through the above stuff. Look at the
following textures once more. Speaking of layers is the easiest way to think
about these as glass. You can layer up the entire sheet of glass in a frame,
and it makes a complete image.
You may pick a particular layer with a design tool, including Cricut Design
Space, and focus on only that aspect of the design. To reveal your finished
version, you may modify it, reconfigure it, and then position it again in the
stack.
You may often edit an element to alter the format. You would no longer be
able to modify the text. However, you will be capable of controlling its type
and position inside the layer stack.
Ungroup: That tool functions differently. You do not want the stem or
leaves to be changed. You want the flower to be changed only. If the
components are ungrouped, you will change the flower without modifying
the remainder of a flower.
Duplicate: a related method for copying and pasting. If you pick an element
and then press DUPLICATE, an identical copy of that object on the canvas
would be produced.
Delete: Design bye-bye to delete a selected feature from the canvas, press
this tab.
Attributes of layer
An allocated attribute is allocated to each unit on the surface line. It is either
labeled as an element of WRITE, SCORE, CUT, or PRINT. Throughout the
panel of layers whose characteristics the form currently has, you will see
with the right of a layout.
By choosing an aspect and then pressing the LINETYPE drop-down, you
may adjust these characteristics and choose the behavior of your preference.
Visibility for Layers
You should turn on and off the tiny eye, which is in the corner of a layer. On
that sheet, when it becomes off, the components are transparent. This is
perfect if you have to see how the template appears without a feature (and if
you want it, you wouldn't need to uninstall it and then add it back).
There would be a cut across the eye for transparent items. To see the feature
whenever you need to, you may turn it back to clear.
Canvas Blank
To adjust the color of the canvas, you could use this option. When you have
a sample on your canvas, use this choice because you see how your concept
of various colors would appear. If you like to see the edges of a layout and
whether it has a white label shadow or not, they can use this as well.
Cut, Contour, Flatten Weld, Attach
For Cricut Design Space, these will be the' go-to' resources. They are super-
strong.
These tools you are using frequently are typically Weld and Connect, so
let's begin with those.
Weld: You may merge two or even more forms into one form using this
method. You can make a whole new form if you choose the forms, but
instead, press on the weld cut all along the outer edge of the pattern.
Attach: It is a bit like using the "group" function to use this tool. You advise
the modeling app that you like the arrangement of these components to
remain exactly the way they are, and when you pick the elements but
instead click the ATTACH button.
To help conserve products, Cricut Design Space is trying to support you. It
can transform designs sideways and detach elements if you're not using the
connection tool to place themselves beside other elements to reduce the
number of products cut over the next stage.
You must use the connection tool to remain in your specified design and
layout if you want your objects.
Slice: The whole method can cut out several other elements from the text,
shapes, and other design features. That's a tool that helps you to build a
negative space in a template.
When you have two overlapping shapes and select a slice, the software can
generate separate parts anywhere the patterns intersect.
Flatten: the above tool is needed while the Print or Cut layer is about to be
used. It may be that you bought a design with just elements that have been
cut. You could only pick the pieces you would like to print and then press
FLATTEN.
It could erase the black edge when the blade can typically trace cutting.
That is a print-only entity now (you can't undo this until you save it and
leave your project.).
Contour: That tool helps you to suppress an element's unnecessary pieces.
These are the conceptual elements that you wouldn't want to cut and are
redundant.
Color Sync: A separate sheet of Vinyl, cardstock, or cutting medium is
represented by all the numerous colors on your canvas.
There may be Three shades of pink throughout your design, and you aim to
cut one shade of pink. Throughout this panel, obey the instructions and
click and drag the element layer to 1 color you choose to hold. It will
simplify your Cut and allow it so that they don't have to fill the pink slice
mat five times with one color cut.
Link your Cricut to the phone and device by installing Design Space.
Be sure to reach out to see whether you get all the specifications to update
the app whether you have an old iPhone, Mac, laptop, or Android
smartphone.
Cricut had; an "online" edition in the past, but you wanted the Internet. You
will do it offline through your laptop and iOS computer after you update the
software.
When communicating and establishing your Cricut, no matter what system
you use, there are three important measures.
1. Design Space Software Installing
2. Linking the machine to the device
3. You are using your Cricut account to set up your computer.
For each unit, the first two phases appear different since each operating
system is distinct. However, since you're using the same design, combining
your computer with your Cricut accounts would be very similar.
Pair the software with Windows Laptop/Desktop install the Design Space
software.
Please ensure that the Cricut Device is always ten to fifteen feet away from
your computer until the operation begins.
You ought to get closer to it by utilizing a USB cord.
Install Design Space on Windows
It is very straightforward to install the Design Space on windows.
That will save the software on the device, press "download."
You will open it straight from the lower part of your window while a file is
accessed from the Internet. Whenever the download is done, click on it.
The new window will appear on your device whenever the installation is
done.
You have to link it to your device before you begin having a great time with
your device.
Link Cricut to your PC with Windows
It is pretty easy to combine your Cricut with a Windows operating system.
Two alternatives exist:
You can attach the USB cord to your desktop at a certain time without
taking any extra measures by using any of Discover or Builder machines.
You could link them through Bluetooth if your system and device are
Bluetooth capabilities.
Important: The computer connects to Cricut Joy only through Bluetooth.
You would also require a Bluetooth adapter if you've got a Cricut Explore
That to be enabled to use it through Bluetooth with the PC.
You have to access "Windows Settings" to connect your device with
Bluetooth.
If you do not even remember where and how to locate them, enter
"Bluetooth" beside the "Task Bar" within the search window.
Get on "Bluetooth And more devices" while on "Settings," and press on
"Bluetooth and more devices." The Bluetooth must be on for it to function.
A little window opens. Choose 'Bluetooth.'
Choose your CRICUT device.
Code in 0000 (no wonder what device you possess) unless you are
questioned for a PIN, and press Attach.
That is it.
The Cricut has been paired with and prepared for use on your device.
Download Design Space & Connect Cricut with MacBook

finished, click upon that.
When the file is not displayed at the lower part of your web page, open
your "Download Folder" and double-click this to begin the
installation process once you find the file.
A tiny window would appear, with the Cricut symbol, and the Applications
button will start. Tap and hold Cricut's symbol to an Applications file.
The Applications folder would start after dragging it. To open the app, press
"Cricut Design Space."
On your MacBook, an alert would show. Press Open whether you have
installed the app through Cricut's site.
Not, ever use a strange website to install Design Space.
Another window will appear, warning you to log into Cricut Design Space
and set up your device.
You have to connect your Cricut with your Mac before going on.
Cricut on MacBook Connected
It's really easy to connect your Cricut with your MacBook.
Two alternatives exist:
You can attach the USB cord to your desktop at any point without taking
any extra measures by using any of the Maker devices or explore.
You can link them through Bluetooth if the system and device are
Bluetooth suitable.
Crucial: The computer connects to Cricut Joy only through Bluetooth.
Even if you've got a Cricut Explore One still used through Bluetooth with
the Mac, you would require a Bluetooth adapter.
Select the 'Bluetooth' button in the top right corner of your PC and pick
'Enable Bluetooth Settings Preferences.'
A tiny window opens.
If the Bluetooth is switched off, go forward and switch it on to locate your
Cricut Device on the Mac.
Remember: Notice that you need to have your machine on.
Pick it and press 'Link' when your machine shows in the Bluetooth browser
(sometimes it articulates pair).
Code in 0000 (no idea what computer you have) if you are questioned for a
PIN, and press Link.
You will be asked to pick the unit you'd like to match in the Cricut
Configuration screen capture.
You should have linked your machine to the Desktop, Mac, or mobile via
USB or Bluetooth during this stage.
Remember: Either on iOS or Android devices, you will not get the
EasyPress 2 function.
"To build a Cricut Account, fill out details. Unless you already use one,
select "Sign In.
You may log in to both your desktop and smartphone with that same ID,
and you may even sign in to cricut.com to buy new devices, products, etc.
Cricut will begin to instruct you on how to attach the device in the Get
Linked tab.
It should indicate that your device is linked.
That's the interface that you will appear when operating on a Mac or
Windows PC.
Tap over the little toggle in the top-left corner to launch a "new Machine
Set-Up" when you purchase another device in the future.
That's the interface you would get while operating on a mobile. Click on the
top-left corner picture to launch a "new Machine Setup" if you purchase
another device in the future.
Wasn't it simple?
Now, when your heart is happy, you should begin crafting.
In Cricut Design Space, How and where to Add Color.
To comprehend how and when to add color within Cricut Design Space,
you will know how the machine uses colors.
In the Design Space, there are 3 possible ways you can adjust colors:
1. Cutting a product
2. Drawing on a product
3. Printing the layout and afterward cutting it.
Cut images have a grey color thin line across the shape or pattern (where
the cutter can cut along); note that this color reflects the cutting objects.
There are defined drawing layers; the outline will be where the pen would
move, though. Bear in mind, and the Cricut does not color.
There is no outline for Print images; it's just a normal form. The blade is
going to slash through the design's corners. There is another beneath the
"Print then Cut" purple circle, and it's packed with a design.
That's how colors seem in various layer forms (shape, text, pic).
How to adjust Multi-Layer Interface Colors
You can find that certain styles have various colors if you install an SVG
file from the website and insert a picture from Cricut's library.
Multi-layer structures are termed Multi-layer designs that contain several
shades. It can reflect objects, pens, and perhaps a print, based on the
form you choose to add color.
Typically, as you apply it to a canvas field, such images are arranged and
clumped; thus, if you adjust the color immediately, all the levels will have
the exact color.
Pick the multi-layer layout and choose the Ungroup option as an alternative
found on a canvas region's upper panel to resolve this concern.
If pictures like the snapshot above are all on top of one another, you'll get a
difficult time adjusting the colors of surfaces at the lower part.
The easiest way to adjust the colors from each component is to use the layer
panel. Choose the surface you would like to alter and choose the square
color beside the line form.
In Cricut Design Space, (When to Color Photos)
There will come the point in time where you're going to see an image you
enjoy a lot, but it's all on one layer.
Remember: You will find the following picture in Cricut's library with the
password MB30A0C5 when you choose to follow it.
Only look at the snapshot below.
Many of the components can shift with it as you change the color of a
pizza.
Even if you watch closely enough, you'll notice that within the picture,
there are some empty spaces in which there is no color; it's how the image
was built and if you choose to use various colors.
No problem.
You can still look for ways and get through some of the program limits of
Cricut software, but there's a means to do so if you'd like to color within a
pic.
Don't overlook that whether a product, pen color, and print can reflect
certain colors. e.g., you will need 5 distinct iron-on colors if you were
creating a T-Shirt using Vinyl while coloring.
You should use a tool named "Contour" to paint within a picture in Cricut
Design Space. That tool would enable you to hide or show unnecessary
parts from the works and is found at the bottom of a Layers panel.
You can modify an image using the "Contour" tool to show something that's
not there once, such as the empty spaces within the pizza.
Within the "Wanna Pizza Me" picture, these would be the steps that you'll
have to follow to color.
Phase 1: Insert Photo
For Cricut Design Space, connect the picture that you'd like to color. Ideal
pictures provide blank spaces for this methodology.
Phase 2: For every color, create copies.
Recreate or copy or paste the picture to have the number of shades and a
further copy of the main image you choose to use.
You made use of four separate colors for this project.
Phase 3: center picture and then use Contour pictures.
Pick all the copies, go to the top panel, press Align, and select the center
option.
Expose the vacant spaces using the contour method and alter the colors
later.
The easiest approach to do it is to pick every one of the photos on the layers
panel, bearing in mind the size and position of the parts you'd like to color.
On many occasions, a first or lower layer upon this layered panel should be
the original image. The outlines or boundary of the design would be the
original picture.
As all sheets value their space, this coloring is rather simple. Nevertheless,
there are instances when one sheet will cover another.
Seeing it in action, watch the following case.
The whole picture is a sweet tiny landscape, and it can be identified with
the key MD77B2E8 in Cricut's library.
Up until phase 4, you followed the measures listed before.
Those who wanted to leave some of the internal colors unbroken while
using the contour method indicate that they did not consider the snow sports
in the hills or even the stars throughout the sky.
It is generally suggested to take your time, and if the picture is complicated
and you need these for "Print And Cut," you should rely more on the
sequence of the layers.
For, e.g., throughout the layer panel, those mountains have to be beneath the
snow (thin dark dots); however, the snow will disappear.
Whether you are slicing Vinyl or other sorts of things, the sheets' position
does not matter, and if you're using print, then Cut and then flattening the
pic, you have to ensure all of the sheets have been in the right order.
Our 3rd and final example is here.
You can adopt the same method, and before using the contour tool, you
might want to adjust colors each time.
If you can look, in Design Space, there're many directions that you can do
anything. You can get quicker as you train and learn new ways to perform
the same mission.
Well, that if it isn't on the canvas whenever you want to append or alter the
color?
It's very easy.
Insert and change the color of a component to what you'd like to use and
return to Color Sync.
Now, choose the colors you'd like to modify, and then move them to a
specific color.
That's just like trickery.
Don't you believe it?
Just press the text symbol mostly on the left toolbar to begin simply with
text. The text box will pop up, and you'll be able to start typing.
You could even select the size, style, and font from the top toolbar. The
letter-spacing, as well as line spacing, can be adjusted as well. Within that
lecture, this section will be covering every one of these.
Generally, it's simpler to first type the text out and implement the necessary
changes you would like.
Fonts
Different box shows when you tap on fonts, displaying all the usable fonts.
You may also opt to display only the fonts by tapping on the system or
tapping on Cricut to have only certain Cricut fonts. When you know the
name of a font you like, there's also a search choice. And whether you are
searching for a writing/multi-layer font, you could filter the fonts as well.
Adding Your Fonts
Most fonts can be found on TheHungryJpeg.com, DaFont.com, or
CreativeMarket.com.
Note: Whether you are trying to market your designs, ensure that the font
arrives with some commercial license.
Once the font you would like to use is downloaded, locate the file
(generally in the download folder) on your computer and then open it. Fonts
arrive in a zip, but if it does not open automatically, extract data is the first
step that you must do.
You would see all the font variations in the folder when the files have been
extracted. It happened to come in bold with both the initial and as well as
italics. It is not necessary to download all the variants; the original can be
altered in the Design software.
You can also see 2 parts, one named Open Type Font, and another
named True Type Font. You must install always the Open Type. Not every
system allows you to install Open Type, and not every system allows you to
install the True Type. So, if one doesn't work, try another one.
Your latest font would now be displayed in the design space under system
Fonts. Remember: Whether you've design space open even before installing
a new font, you would need to shut it down and open it again for seeing the
new font.
Accessing Special Characters
Every one of the swashes & swooshes & tails that can be added to the
letters is among the most enjoyable aspects of script fonts. These are
included in certain fonts in the font file.
One of the favorites is named Humble Script., it arrives with many nice
extras.
Special characters can be identified using windows Character Chart or Mac
Font Book while using design space.
In the computer search window, start typing 'character map' & this would
pop up the app. To open it, tap on it.
The Top drop-down menu is there that lets you choose the font to which
you're starting to work. Please ensure the 'Advanced View' has been
checked at the lower part. The character set is changed to Unicode &
grouped by the Unicode Subrange. For Unicode Subrange, a box
would appear. Scroll down all the way and choose 'Private Use Characters.'
You'll be able to see now all that goodness.
Jump over the specific letters or tap on them and discover that you'll want
to utilize them. Then tap select and tap copy.
Return in design space. Erase the letter that you'd like to remove from the
text box. But instead, to paste the fresh special character, strike control, and
the 'V' button at the same moment. It'll only look like a square in the search
box. However, the full text would then alter.
Move ahead and enjoy around with several letters as you'd like to change.
And besides, the world could not get enough swashes & swooshes)
Script Fixing/Joining Together
You must be well aware that script fonts in the design space are spaced very
strangely. Two solutions to solve this are available.
First of all, the least favorite route. Mostly on the top toolbar, you may
decrease the letter space. The smaller the no. you make, the more the letters
come together.
"But it even squeezes the characters down sometimes, and you miss the
"A's" & "e's" sections. But it doesn't necessarily help them squish evenly
close. So, where one term might look fine, there can be gaps in the next
one.
The easiest approach is to spotlight all the letters so that they are chosen
and then press the ungroup key on the upper right toolbar.
It enables you to independently pick and transfer each letter. Only press and
move the letter, so it's connected to the next one. If you've had a ton of
scripts, this might be a little boring, but that will feel so much fine.
It is Critical when the letters become sorted that all the text is highlighted
by you, so it is chosen and then press the weld key on the toolbar at the
lower right corner.
Welding the script ensures that as 1 continuous word, it can all be cut.
Otherwise, every individual letter would be cut even though it seems as
they're together.
2.7 In Design Space, Resize and Center Text Lines
You will write the word you need on its 1st line whenever you open the text
box but instead, press enter to start writing the second line. So, by pressing
the line spacing key on your upper toolbar and reducing the no., you can
decrease your line's spacing.
It is good to have a different box for each line of your text. Then enter the
first line and click the text key to get the next box to type the 2nd line. This
allows you more grip on sizing and spacing. Simply press and move the
lines to where you would like them to go.
The font size on the top toolbar can be used to adjust the size. However,
using the arrows at the base of the text is quicker. Select and drag out for a
larger one & drag in for the small one.
When you're pleased with the text line' size and spacing, highlight and pick
all of them together. First, on top of the toolbar, press the Align button. You
may then opt to align the text lines towards the left, middle, or align
everything to the right.
Usually, center or middle alignment is preferred.
Curving Text
In the Design Space, this is very simple to do.
Write the text first and select the font. Then, pick the curve feature from the
upper toolbar. Your text curves down as the adjuster is slide to the right.
But if you slide the text to your left, it'll curve up.
To extend the shape into a rectangle, you can press on the lower left's
unlock button. You can adjust the box's color to blue because it's simpler to
see when the text is overlayed. It can be modified to any color.
Now, the saying you like on the stencil is created by using the text tool.
Whenever you need assistance with sizing, fonts, centering, curving, and
spacing, go back to the earlier tips.
Once you are pleased with the text's highlighting, pick all the text, and then
the attach button is pressed on the toolbar at the lower right. This is going to
hold together everything so that it can be moved.
On top of your box you made, transfer the text.
Pick both the box and text, and on the upper toolbar, the Align tool is
selected. Choose Horizontal Align and afterward select Vertically Align. It
will put the text in the middle of the box.
While your text & box both are selected, and attach button on the toolbar's
lower right is then pressed.
The words should shift to a similar color as the box with cut lines already
visible. All are stuck together now, and you're prepared to make it.
Monogram Making In Design Space
Monogram Presents and Crafts are always super famous, but this book will
not be completed without knowing how to create one.
Begin with the letter you'd like to have into a monogram & size it wide
enough to make it simple to deal with. If required, you can change the size
down immediately once you're done.
Second, create a square & unlock it, then expand it to turn this into a
rectangle. Adjust the color of your square again only because it's simpler to
see, but the color does not matter.
Making the rectangle marginally larger than the letter, with a good-looking
width relative to the big letter. Remember that more text is required to fit in
the width of the rectangle you create.
Select everything once you've all lined up & sized the way you want. Then,
on the lower-right toolbar, press the Slice button.
The region the rectangle had been covering would be cut out by slicing. In
reality, you get around three layers that you can move & delete. (Simply
press the erase button on the keyboard for deleting)
Now, in the main letter, space is there to add further text.
Adding Lines to The Monogram
Create another square shape if you like to add extension lines to the
monogram. Unlock it then you can render it super-thin and bigger than your
letter. Once it is appropriately sized, right-click the shape and pick
duplicate.
It provides you with an identical copy that can be used for the bottom.
Select everything once both the shapes get into place. Then, on the
upper toolbar, pick the Align tool and horizontally align everything. While
everything is selected, press the lower right toolbar's attach button to hold
together everything.
You can now make the text for the middle. Make sure to align the center
after it's done, and afterward, attach it again. The monogram is now about
to be cut.
Bonus point
Many people usually press the make it button at any stage, and the beautiful
design of their in-Design Space would appear like such a confusing mess on
the preview of the cut mat.
That's because you need to attach everything to just let Cricut realize that
you'd like to cut together. However, do not forget about selecting everything
& clicking attach (lower right toolbar) before hitting make it.
But don't miss to press the welding button and pick all the words mentioned
in the document. That's so it gets cut rather than individual words as one
consistent term.
Now you have learned something.
3.8 Shortcuts and Hacks of Cricut/Design That Newcomers
Must Know
The perfect shortcuts and hacks of Cricut/Design Space that any newcomer
should learn. Such Cricut shortcuts in Design Space can help you focused
and support you.
It's really fun to possess a Cricut. For a newcomer, it may even feel very
personal and daunting. Such Cricut Tricks and Tips could save your sanity
& help you to stay more focused along the way if you are a newcomer or a
more experienced Cricut crafter.
1. Peel the Mat away from the stuffed material
Peeling the material (Vinyl, cardstock, etc.) away from the Mat can sound
instinctual, but that is usually easier to softly curl and peeled the Mat away
from the material. It helps to avoid so much distortion of the materials of
your craft.
2. For Vinyl using IKEA vinyl plastic bag.
IKEA plastic bag storage holders are among the favorite Cricut tricks,
which has also developed some attention in the last few years. It will work
best while keeping vinyl rolls.
3. With tin foil sharpening the blade.
By sharpening the blade with tin foil, you will quickly prolong the life of
the blade. You will potentially make the blade work 3x longer when you
have to use tin foil. Release it from the clamp to strengthen the blade and
pass the blade's tip 10-12 times thru the tin foil.
4. Storing the blades in the Cricut
It might sound rather simple that the blade & smaller items for dust-free,
safe storage can be stored within the device.
5. A lint roller is used for picking up little bits from the Mat or design.
You can quickly catch the extra tiny bits on a lint roller and save time if
you've got a complicated pattern that is cut on some vinyl or paper.
Yeah, so this functions well on the workspace, also, to pick the stray glitter.
6. With tour machine, using pen adapters using more than Cricut pens.
It is a great feature to make the Cricut device write for you. You would wish
at some stage to use pens besides the Cricut brand.
The good news is you can buy pen adapters if you possess the Explore 2 to
use almost every brand pen. Such as sharpies, brush pens, and more.
7. For vinyl scraps, using a nail polish tray.
It is definitely among my favorite hacks. To gather small vinyl bits while
weeding, purchase an inexpensive nail polish holder.
8. Learn to create your latest SVG cut files in Inkscape for free.
Seeking freebies and buying Cricut Access is the best method of getting
Design Space SVG files. What about making your creation?
Inkscape is free, open-source software that can be downloaded to create
from scratch SVG files or transform images to layered SVG files.
9. Just 1 click magic for converting a picture to an SVG.
If you're not able to develop your first SVG files, consider a one-click
image to SVG converting.
10. To store all the Cricut supplies, choose a pegboard for storing.
To keep the supplies organized, pegboards have become so important, plus
you use bare wall space. In IKEA / Amazon, select those. And Cricut
shortcuts such as this completely contribute to the craft space's stylishness.
11. Cleaning the Mat by using baby wipes. With Easy Tack, Resticky the
Mat
By using baby wipes, remove the dirt from the Mats, and breathe the new
life again in the Cricut mats. Through spraying Easy Tack some layers on
the surface, you could also Re-stick any sort of Mat for five to
ten additional uses.
12. To hold vinyl rolls tight, utilize the slap bracelets.
Inexpensive slap bracelets would give a simple way to keep vinyl rolls
together.
13. Keeping the Vinyl sorted by the type in the wood bins.
It is crucial to be the track of the vinyl types (iron-on, textured, adhesive,
etc.) Bins usage might be an easy way of storing them by type & for fast
identification labeling every bin.
14. Straight edge is used for trimming Vinyl to prevent uneven edges.
Vinyl seems like one of those items that are simple to lose if you're not
careful. Trimming the Vinyl before using it for cutting can help in keeping
edges straight & eliminate much waste.
15. Find awesome SVG freebies.
In areas like blogging or Pinterest search, Downloadable SVG files of
Design Space could be accessed.
16. For thicker materials, use painter tape.
If your goods slide about on the Mat, the best friends of yours would be the
painter's tape. For materials of woodworks and chipboard, it is extremely
significant.
17. When adding Vinyl on the curved surface, cut slits in the transmit tape.
How can you get the Vinyl smooth on some curved surface?
That question is surely have been asked before. Apart from practice, one
technique would be to cut slits mostly on edges around the transmit tape. It
lets the tape further give when you're placing the design.
18. To remember the functions, use the cheat sheets.
That can be a lot to digest to recognize Cricut terminology and Design
Space's functions; one can benefit from using a booklet cheat sheet.
19. Store scraps of Vinyl in the magazine holder
Do not even lose these all odd, endless bits of Vinyl. For minor cuts, they
can also be used. To quickly see what you have to deal with, store the
scraps in some magazine holder.
20. For wood, only use HTV (iron-on Vinyl)
Yes, For wood, you can use iron-on Vinyl.
21. Using iron-on Vinyl only with Cricut Easy Minipress on tumblers
Cricut introduced a small edition of the Easypress in 2019, the Easypress
mini. This tiny gadget is so cool and convenient that it also helps the
tumblers with iron-on Vinyl.
22. Checking the design Space for freebies
Did you notice that Cricut offers a fresh package of free stuff every new
week open to all, including those who do not have Cricut Access? Under
the Images,> Filter > Freebies, find the freebies.
23. Download online the free fonts
If you've not found Cricut free fonts already, you sure are losing out. You
can simply download them.
24. Import specialized designs to the design space by utilizing character
maps.
Another thing is installing fonts but learning creating a word that appears
like a million dollars is a whole different talent. It can take some while to
learn that you can access the unique scroll letters on the computer by using
"glyphs" or "character maps."
Go to "search" on PC, then search for something like a character viewer or
character map on Mac.
To pick the font of your option, use the drop-down.
Click through till the letter you want is found.
To select and copy, click on it.
In Design Space, in the textbox, insert the font character.
25. Keep track of the favorite Vinyl.
There is so Many Vinyl, and it is hard to remember them. There are plenty
of types, textures & brands of Vinyl to take track of. To help in keeping
track, store vinyl scraps with the vinyl brand and type on a metal ring, so it
is always easy to find the favorite Vinyl of yours.
26. Using storage carts for the materials & machines.
It's essential to store your machines and materials. One of the best methods
of achieving this is using a rolling cart for storage.
3.9 Cricut Design Space ready-to-make projects step by step
instructions.
Of all the Cricut-related questions and complaints you get from readers,
most of them revolve around the Design Space program, or even all the
possibilities before them, becoming confused or intimidated. Although
Cricut machines and the corresponding design software are powerful
resources for crafters at all levels, a steep learning curve can be there to use
them quickly and efficiently. So, you can understand the initial overwhelm.
Fortunately, even if you do not know the first thing about opening, far less
utilizing, Cricut Design Space, Cricut has rendered it extremely simple to
build cool projects instantly. In the Cricut Craft space Library, there are
hundreds of Ready-to-Make projects open to you right now, ranging from
signs to sewing projects, shirts and decor, games, and so much more. Not
only are these designs super quick to create, but they are also a perfect way
to develop your confidence while you learn your way around your Cricut.
At present, in Cricut Design Space, It will teach you how to use Ready-to-
Made projects and send you a look at Spring t-shirt designs, now ready to
make and usable.
3.10 What Are Ready-to-Make Projects and Where to Find
Them?
Ready-to-Make projects are just as they sound like projects that, without
any alteration, are already planned and ready to be cut. To use these
templates, you do not need to know much about the different techniques
and tools in Design Space. You can select the one you want, open it up, and
submit it to your cutting machine. (You can even edit these prototypes like
you might your designs. Once assembled, in mere minutes, you'll have a
professional-looking project done.
You can immediately see a Ready-to-Make project menu at the bottom of
the computer when you open the Cricut Design Space for the first time. You
can also reach the large collection of templates by clicking on the "Projects"
tab on the left-hand toolbar at any time.
You may also restrict the results or search by group using the Ready-to-
Make Projects along with the top toolbar menu. There are numerous
templates, and you would always browse at the groups to get your creative
juices going or glean any thoughts for your ventures. You may prefer
whatever style you want as long as you're signed in, so you can find it
instantly and conveniently afterward by checking on "Ready-to-Make
Projects" in the drop-down menu.
3.11 Seasonal T-Shirt Designs in Cricut Design Space
With their Cricut machines, one of the most important things crafters do is
make customized onesies, t-shirts, and other clothing, so it probably won't
surprise you to understand that there are uncountable pre-made designs of
clothing in the Ready-to-Make project library. Each week new templates are
updated to the library, from sassy proverbs to temporary iconography.
In the Design Space library, you will love experimenting with all the
templates and fonts and had a blast coming up with five different designs
ready for you to cut and turn into your Spring wardrobe.
"Spring is In the Air" is the motto for these shirts, and each of the five
styles includes vibrant colors, cheerful words, and pictures of a spring
theme. They are the best way to create onesies and plain tees to help the
user in the hot weather and summer days.
3.12 How to Use Ready-to-Make Projects in Cricut Design
Space
As referenced before, one of the extraordinary parts of Ready-to-Make
projects is that if you want to see how a project works together from start-
to-finish, they may not be simpler and are ideal. That was mentioned, to suit
your specific style and expectations, you can modify some Ready-to-Make
project, just like you'd any design you build. Let's show you how to access
the Crazy One t-shirt pattern, customize it, and cut it.
Click on the image until you select a Ready-to-Make project you want to
test in the Design Space library. A pop-up window would appear, listing all
types of helpful details. Not only does it mention all the requisite materials
to make the design exactly as illustrated, but it also includes step-by-step
guidance for you to print out and hold it by your hand.
Note that at the bottom of the pop-open display, there are two buttons: a
"Customize" button and a green "Make It" button. If you click the "Make
It" icon, you will be immediately guided to the Design Space Cut Screen.
All of the design elements will be measured and colored precisely as seen in
the provided photo, and to cut the design, all you have to do is press the
green "Continue" button. It is necessary to remember that you can't edit the
scale, color, or any other aspect of the template at this point. This choice
can therefore be used only if you choose to build the ready-to-make layout
precisely, as shown here, including finished dimensions.
Here is one thing you need to know is that on each cut Mat, you need to
press the Mirror button if you are dealing with iron-on materials; it won't be
handled for you automatically.
It's not a good suggestion to try out the projects Ready-to-Make sufficiently
if you are fresh to work on your Cricut. Not only they are fast and simple to
use, moreover, but you will also end with some decent projects that will
certainly improve your faith in crafts.
3.13 Errors
Project incompatible" error
You can get a "Project Incompatible" error whenever you launch a
previously planned Design Space project. Here is some evidence regarding
whether this occurs and how it can be overcome.
Print then Cut Image Too Large
If you get the "Project incompatible" pop-up, click "Customize" and snap
the yellow triangle, which will be on the layer or layers with the issue.
If you have a printed file that is so wide (greater than 6.75" x 9.25"), you
can see a yellow-colored triangle in the layer's panel. The triangle would
vanish until you reduce the scale of your image. In this video, you will see
how this error message is erased.
Attached Images Too Large
This mistake is fairly uncommon, although often it arises for older pictures
or ventures. The option to choose numerous styles of pens is not there in
previous iterations of Design Space, only the potential to select a color.
Therefore, pictures and projects generated before this move don't even have
any pen picked.
Next to the Linetype drop-down menu, you'll see a question mark. Click on
it and pick either color (the one that doesn't matter). The mistake will be
fixed this way.

careful to cut each section in half evenly.
7. Apply adhesive to the back of the jellyfish body on the crepe paper sheet,
along the printable bottom side.
8. To attach to a jellyfish, select the eyes, mouth, or mustache now & apply
glue on the front side. You can match & mix.
9. Now, this is it, the jellyfish craft is ready, and this cute craft is definitely
going to be loved by your kids. It is advised to make it as it is easy via
Explore Air and helps to make the craft really fast. You may also use the
basic Cricut device to make it, although it may require more time to finish
it.
2. Making Glitter Ornaments by using hairspray.
Let us discover how to create a lovely Christmas shimmery glitter
decoration.
If you have the baubles that fulfill the little pores at the top instead of one
that separates, this won't be the best way to select because you did not spray
that hair spray through that hole. However, there are numerous other ways to
do the same type of method with these same baubles, such as using specific
floor cleaning products or glue different kinds.
To create these baubles of glitter, you would need:
A tiny container of tub/plastic
Kitchen roll to queue the container.
A bauble/ornament made of plastic that exists in 2 halves that push
around each other.
A microfiber fabric or other non-static washcloth
Hairspray
The vinyl decal of one bauble length
Anything to scrape away any excess glitter.
Glitter
Ribbon for bauble hanging.
To protect the work area from so much glitter, you were just about to release,
but the bauble inside a tiny container covered in kitchen roll.
Phase 2) Pulverize the hairspray
For your hairspray, spray the interior of the decoration.
Offer it a clean, smooth coat, so the whole inside the bauble would hide it.
Be cautious not to spray the outer surface so that you wouldn't want the
external glitter, and only want the inner glitter.
Making sure you have hairspray on both sides and the surface as well. Place
it inverted to guarantee that you don't get any droplets.
Phase 3) The glitter is applied.
Squirt glitter on the interior of the bauble, functioning rapidly enough that
the hairspray would not dry.
You will find that pouring a little more in and then tilting the bauble to
scatter the glitter across the sides is the smartest method to do it, though
(with a minimum amount of waste).
Using different hues from the same color in glitter for something like an
'ombre' impact, insert it in lines.
Apply a little more hairspray but instead apply further glitter to that section
whether you have some spots that have not been coated with glitter. Be sure
to spray from the range and gently spray so that almost all of the glitter is
still there not dislodged.
Keep the bauble in about an hour until dry.
Phase 4) As required, add an extra coat.
Switch the bauble inverted until the hairspray becomes dry, and softly touch
it to extract some extra glitter. But do not be eager to spill this glitter straight
into your containers of glitter-it has hairspray in there, so it's going to bunch
up together.
You can notice that, especially if you've used pale-colored or transparent
glitter, the ornament requires a second coating of glitter.
Ignore the instructions from Phase 3 again when it does, but instead, wait for
it to settle again.
Phase 5) The glitter is secured.
When you are pleased with the coating of glitter and the hairspray is fully
dried, it is best to seal it to keep the glitter from falling off.
Spray that hairspray softly onto the bauble from a point such that it coats the
glitter and form a sheet of safety.
Hang for the next 20 min or then dry off your hairspray coating to add the
vinyl decal.
Phase 6) Add the decals to vinyl.
Break the vinyl decals, then stick them to an ornament on the exterior.
Those who used a picture that states 'Joyful Christmas' of Cricut Access.
There are several excellent tips throughout the video here below, adding
vinyl to a curved wall.
Phase 7) Strip excessive glitter from link lines
If you attempt to bring together the 2 halves of the bauble, you'll discover
that they wouldn't match anymore.
It's because the "ridge" which unites the two sections with glitter has been
filled, and it is now too thin to pass over another half of a decor.
Find out the part of the bauble, which would be the one that slips on the
highest point of the other to repair that, then using a scraper tool (or anything
similar) to scrub the glitter mostly on the upper edge of the bauble gently
away.
When the glitter is free, a fresh paintbrush should be used to brush it clear.
Make you then go down to the end of the connecting ridge and no more, so
that means you're going to start creating holes throughout the glitter you will
see if you move any further.
It would not bring a difference in the final look to remove the ridge off
glitter to slip over the corresponding bit but on the other side because then
you will see the glitter from such a part.
To be precise about this, it is worth the effort but take it easy. Don't panic
when you can't have all the glitter clear. The bauble bits must be able to
place together like this long as most of it is off.
When You studied this method with the glitter baubles, you would try a few
more approaches. Until the hairspray was placed into it with masking tape,
its first approach was to attempt to tape this section since you could take the
tape off, so it won't succeed. It was just so complicated to be careful enough
of the tape as it won't go down into the bauble, so it leaves us with holes.
When it was sprayed with hairspray, step two attempted by was that it went
there with a cloth and then started cleaning the hairspray off all this tiny
ridge, yet again it leaves us with holes beneath because It wasn't detailed
enough, and then it didn't get all of the hairsprays off, and it still ended up
rubbing that anyway.
So, while glittering the whole interior of the bauble but instead taking it
away again seems a little counterintuitive, that seemed to be the easiest way
discovered to use it.
Phase 8) Enter the bauble's 2 parts,
The bauble's two sections may be squeezed together to secure them now as
the ridge is visible.
But now, here's the pretty glittering pink bauble and vinyl all prepared for a
bow and then can be at the Xmas tree.
You know, there's no space where the glitter is just stripped off, while on the
other hand of a bauble, you have seen the glitter.
You would like to shade the leaves & probably even the edges to allow your
succulents to appear natural. Except on felt, paint and markers do not fit
properly. Eye shadow and lipstick were found as the right items to be used
for coloring. Oil pastel crayon was used to color their edges. Lipstick still
helps, but smudges are a little better.
Materials Required:
Felt
Lipstick or oil pastel crayons
Tweezers
Glue gun
Eyeshadow and blush
A method to cut the felt.
How to have the felt succulents
Firstly, download Design #78 through my free resource collection, the
succulent silver star's patterns. That file is named SVG/DXF/PDF of Felt
Succulents. Add the image to your design app whether you plan to cut these
out over your cutting unit.
Utilizing my pattern for cutting out the felt. The number of different sizes is
suggested if you plan to create a collection of felt succulents. Your standard
size suits the felt sheet of 8.5 inches x 11inches, which is probably the
maximum you need to go to. However, you may resize this to be bigger.
That dark green model is at the full scale of my photo, and also, the
light green one has been resized such that the whole range of shapes was just
5.5 inches long.
Color these to make them look real until the bits are cut out. Using blush and
eyeshadow for shading the leaves. To have a contrasting edge, one can use
an oil pastel crayon mostly on margins because most natural plants possess.
You might be using lipstick instead.
Then, place a ring of glue throughout the center of the biggest group of
leaves with your hot glue tool. Right in the middle, avoid putting glue. They
need it around the middle instead.
Then put on top of the 2nd largest group of leaves partially offset the leaves
to be here between the lower sheet leaves. To make an indentation in the
middle, push down only with the edge of anything, such as your tweezers.
Place a ring of glue in the middle of the 2nd layer of leaves.
On the upper end of the 2 that have already been glued around each other,
put other leaves. To hold it compressed to the other two, press down again in
the middle. It may help offer a better shape to the succulent so that it doesn't
only look like a plain collection of felt parts.
You'll have to first glue these into a tiny cone form for another two groups of
leaves. Around the small "V" shape, add a dab of glue but then overlap both
sides of a V. It would make a natural dish.
When the leaves have been dished out, proceed to glue them to a felt plant.
Then, use glue rings and press them down when you placed them in the
middle of each group of leaves.
Roll up the final bit and glue that in the rolled bud form to make the bud,
which goes into the middle.
Now, at the middle of the glued plant, poured glue in the ring and move the
bud down inside it, enabling the leaves all over it to move it up toward the
bud. A few leaves could also stick to the bud's sides with that final layer,
attempting to give that one a 3-dimensional shape such as the actual plant.
6. Cricut Maker for making Fabric Tassels.
Fabric tassels are simple to make and add to every other party décor a
fantastic handmade dimension. Would you like to simplify things? Here is
how to use Cricut Maker to create fabric tassels.
For the baby shower poster, a lot of fabric tassels were created recently. A
handheld rotary cutter might have been used before the Cricut Maker then
cut these by hand. When having Maker's Rotary Blade, fabric cutting is so
easy, and it's literally like a small pizza cutter that cuts thru fabric as
a buttah. It's very awesome to watch and allows cutting fabric a complete
breeze for small tasks like this.
Materials:
Fabric is 12inches x 18inches rectangles.
Hot Glue
Cricut Maker having Rotary Blade
Brayer
12inches x 24inches Pink FabricGrip Mat
Cricut Design Space File
Instructions:
Begin by opening your file that was designed here at Cricut Design Space.
That's simply a rectangle with a lot of parallel lines sliced through each side
of it, you will see. You would be brought to a Prepare Window by pressing
Make It in the top right corner of your canvas. There's no update you need to
bring here, so press Continue.
Pick your fabric next. Standard cotton quilting was used, so cotton is
chosen as the setting. Cricut Design Space immediately switches the form
of the blade to something like a Rotary Blade. Place your Rotary Blade
inside the Cricut's house.
Place the fabric on the Cricut mat. Since this project has no "direction," you
should put the correct side of your fabric down or up. The brayer is
recommended so that oil can behold on the fingertips as far back as
necessary from the mat adhesive. Gently smooth out the fabric or even use a
brayer.
Insert the mat inside the machine and tap to cut this same blinking 'C'. The
rotary blade of the Cricut would then cut the fabric exactly to generate your
tassel.
Take the fabric tassel off the mat. The square with extra fabric would be
around the edge. In only a min, you would be using a scrap of it.
You can notice that such a precise cut is a bit "ready," It may cause several
lengthy threads since this fabric is cut straight down the grain. That purpose
of fabric tassels would be to look a bit shabby chic, nevertheless. Only trim
off the bad offenders, and don't care about others.
Position the fabric on the table facing downward. Begin from one uncut edge
and gently roll the fabric. As you untangle that fringe, attempting to hold
your roll as strong as possible. Keep rolling till every side has a tube with
the fringe.
Bend into half, now, to make a loop.
Secure your tassel using a small hot glue and use a bit of scrap fabric from
the above Ensure that a bit of twine or ribbon could always be fed into the
loop you created. Then you'll be done.
7. Making Cricut Coffee Mug
Materials:
Cricut Explore cutting machine.
Permanent Vinyl
Cricut Cutting Mat 12 x 12.
Transfer Tape
SVG file
Coffee Mugs
Instructions:
Use your Cricut cutting machine for cutting the SVG picture and weed the
picture.
The pictures of my mug are 3inches x 2.5inches, so based on the scale of
your mug, you may want to size yours accordingly.
Attach that transfer tape to a weeded picture, peel your vinyl paper, and push
tightly on the mug with the picture.
Peel back that transfer tape when you're finished.
4.2 Cricut Intermediate projects
1. Coasters
This is an advanced level project, and it takes about 2 hours to complete this
project. With a hot cup of tea/coffee, everybody roams around their house
& puts it on their furniture, damaging the wooden tables & marble counters.
Coasters are needed for this reason. And if you're an artistic guy, you want
the coasters to be designed and created. Coasters are marketed by Cricut in
two designs, one circle & one square. As a group of four, these are sold.
There are slightly different circles & square ones. Ceramic is the
circle ones, and ceramic on the top are square ones & have a cork backing.
The process is the same for designing and creating these coasters. In this
project, coasters are designed with Transfusible Ink Transfer sheets. Like
heat transfer sheets, these are, but the change is that colored Ink to the
surfaces is transferred by them, and by applying heat, the Ink is passed to the
product. The finished goods provide a watercolor impression. For these
coasters, the design space does have a few patterns & quotes. Four identical
coasters can be created, or you can select four separate designs from Design
Space. This design is simple to do. However, it requires some degree of skill,
especially the transfer of the Ink to the coasters. Also, to use Easy Press 2,
you need a bit more practice.
Let's get this project started and make some lovely coasters.
Materials:
Cricut Maker Machine
Standard grip mat
Ceramic Coasters
Infusible ink transfer sheets
Fine point blade
Cricut Easypress
Instructions:
1. Clear all the workplace. Set your device or laptop. Keep near you all the
supplies.
2. You will launch a new project after entering Design Space.
3. Go to the images and look for the round coasters.
4. In the library, you can get many designs. It is often wise to select images
& projects in the design space if you're a novice. The projects' sizes are
compatible with the Cricut products. Use Cricut coasters in this project. The
sizing would be right if you pick a project from the design space library.
However, the coaster's dimension is 3.5 " by 3.5 " if you wish to design the
project.
5. You may duplicate it after selecting the design. You replicate the
illustration four times and choose a similar color so that all coasters can also
be cut from the same Ink Infusible Sheet if you're making four coasters.
6. In conjunction with your choice, you may align the design. You can also
preserve your infusible ink sheets by alignment.
7. Then, press 'Make It.' After that, select Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet as the
custom material on the Prepare screen.
8. If you have text on it, do not forget to mirror the design. It won't really
matter if you have just a pattern on it. But it is necessary to mirror the text.
Before cutting, it is better to mirror the image with certain designs to look
the same as that of the screen.
9. The fine point blade is the blade used by these sheets. Check if this blade
has been installed.
10. Let the Standard Grip Cutting Mat & the sheet for Infusible Ink Transfer
ready. On the Cutting Mat, the transfer sheet with the liner side down. If you
find that the colors on the sheet look bland, don't be bothered. On the
completed project, these colors look quite vibrant.
11. Next, the project's cutting takes place. Insert the Mat into the device and
wait until the project has been cut.
12. Take a sheet of paper from the Mat. There are two sheets on the Infusible
Ink Sheet. Take the thin layer off. The Sheet with the Ink will be left with
you now.
13. Next, weed all the negative space out.
14. Now, cut all the cuttings separately for the coaster.
15. Prepare the Easy Press 2 now for the transition of the design to the
coasters.
16. On the Infusible Ink Sheet, follow the heat instructions.
17. The Quick Press will heat up to 400 ° F.
18. Next, for the transfer of Ink, you can align the design and coaster.
19. Place the heat mat first and put plain cardstock over it so it will not be
damaged. Then, with the ink side facing up, place the weeded design. Place
the coaster after that, and the glossy side put in the Ink sheet. Directly set the
coaster on the design. Place the butcher paper, which comes with the Ink
Transfer sheet, on the coaster now.
20. For 4-mins, Now the Easy Press 2 is applied.
21. Remove and mount the Easy Press 2 to its bracket.
22. The coasters are set, but since they are so hot, do not pick them with the
bare hands.
23. Use an oven mitt if you'd like to pick them up.
24. Don't place on plastic or wood surface; place some Sheet to place the
coasters face up.
25. Your lovely coasters are now ready.
2. Creating a Split Monogram In Design Space
Currently, within Cricut Design Space, you will be taught how to create a
simple "split monogram," with no special software required. Essentially, a
split monogram is a large initial with something like a gap in the center to
write the entire first or even last name inside the middle of the letter. The
split monogram is indeed a traditional way to include the initial or full name
inside a single monogram.
It's simple to build this monogram by Cricut Design Space.
In Cricut Design Space, making a split monogram.
1. Creating the single initial
Firstly, you'll begin with the single large initial. It might also use font letters
or search through letters inside the Cricut Image Library to locate a letter
image for use. And for a single initial, exciting "chunkier" letter is liked. Just
a picture, like a heart or perhaps a star, may also be used. A matching split
bunny monogram is available in my Easter Monogram set.
Cricut Monotype Gallia Std font is used for this case. Making things clearer
to deal with, it was made very large, and you could resize this at the end to
match on any blank you have used.
In the bottom right corner of a Layers Panel, choose both the initial and even
the box, and then press cut. You're going to end up with lots of pieces.
Remove all those pieces because you'll be left with the initial break.
Then choose your letter and 2 lines and press 'Weld' at the bottom right of a
Layers Panel. It will weld the lines and the letter, making a single cut part.
4. Adding Name in the Initial
Lastly, you should add the name to an initial break-in. The close font is used
for the name.
You could weld or add a name to the wide initial unless you like, or you
could adjust the color then cut it into two different materials.
What's with a monogram?
Almost all you have to monogram, so here are the 10 common ideas.
1. Phone cases
2. Wallet
3. Wine glasses
4. Kitchen towels
5. Tote bags
6. Tumblers
7. Rain boots
8. Zip pouches
9. Napkins
10. Notebooks
3. Making Vinyl decals.
For vinyl, you could decorate almost everything. Vinyl over mugs was
placed, canvas, Cricut machines, walls, ornaments, and many more. It is that
simple to do, and It is made sure that you know how to use it, well. And you
possibly do have something only asking with a little vinyl customization at
your house, the kitchen utensils. They work tirelessly for us, and they earn a
touch of spice. You could produce vinyl decals that match the kitchen
appliances perfectly-they'll be a neighborhood's talk. For your blender,
Instant Pot, Keurig, or KitchenAid mixer, you could place vinyl decals.
Currently, it is said that ADHESIVE vinyl is producing and using vinyl
decals. It is indeed a self-adhesive supporting vinyl. Vinyl such as this comes
for permanent & removable variations, however as you can at first believe it
will be best for removable vinyl, it isn't. Removable vinyl is meant for items
such as walls or fragile surfaces, or other porous that may be affected by the
vinyl adhesive. Although surfaces including glass, metal, and ceramic are
better decorated using permanent adhesive vinyl, which would be what you
can see on items such as kitchen appliances so that it will hold easier and,
unless you like, you could remove it afterward from such rough surfaces.
A lot of inquiries are received on which vinyl brand works well for those
vinyl decals. Sooner this year, a test was performed with several types of
vinyl, and frankly, permanent vinyl Cricut was the most preferred. Doing a
wonderful job arrives in several colors and designs and getting through craft
shops is very convenient. Oracal 651 is as well-liked, which is thought of
equal quality, but it is more challenging to get. Even so, some other vinyl
would be suggested. You can see brands in the store and often at fantastic
discounts, but you risk those. Often, as it has a shelf life of around 1-2 years,
it is essential that you use relatively fresh vinyl. It is indeed time to buy a
fresh vinyl if the vinyl is about two years old and you've not used it to
anything yet.
Well, Cricut Premium Vinyl is used— the permanent material of that vinyl
decal lesson. Often, removable vinyl is nearly always matt, not shiny, and
just slightly sticky. Often you might slip a little part of it right across the
carrier sheet. Said that, if you plan on taking it off earlier, you should use
removable, as it certainly won't last for that long. The decision is yours.
You may use vinyl of almost any type of color, but certain vinyl, including
glitter and foil, are tougher to weed in my knowledge, harder to apply, but
less expected to stay put, and if you are a newcomer, it is just skipped and
stay with'' a solid standard vinyl.
You want transfer tape compared to the vinyl, an adhesive sheet you place
over the decal to move it to the surface. Cricut transfer tape is used, and it's
essential, not the StrongGrip material; you need standard transfer tape.
You're still going to have a ruler, a scraper, a weeder or tape measurement,
rubbing alcohol, or lint-free towels, or anything similar that is lint-free, like
some coffee filter.
Cricut cutting machine is used and suggested, and that is what is shown
to you. Of course, you should have a way of cutting out the vinyl decal.
At last, you should have a decal design for vinyl. Go on to Cricut Design
Space to create our vinyl decals, and it will show you how to place the
Keurig Coffeemaker, KitchenAid Mixer, InstantPot, then the vinyl decals on
the InstantPot.
It's enjoyable and simple to decorate your appliances using vinyl. So many
options remain.
Material:
Cricut Premium Vinyl
Cricut Transfer Tape
A ruler or measuring tape.
Rubbing alcohol
A weeding tool
Lint-free towels or coffee filters
Scraper tool
Grip cutting mat 12inches X 12inches.
Make the decision which one of the designs you choose to use and cover or
delete the others until the file is uploaded. For doing that, press Ungroup
first, then select to delete either hide layers that you do not like to cut.
Resize your designs (if required) to match the appliance's imprint area.
Step No. 3: Cut out the Vinyl decal design
Position your adhesive vinyl facing upward on the green StandardGrip mat,
ensure that you have the pointed blade in the machine, and click the flashing
button to start cutting.
Step No. 4: Weed the decal then apply the transfer tape
Cautiously weed the design, removing all or most of the extra vinyl. Go
slowly and have patience. Weeding is loving it or dislikes it a thing, but with
some persistence and kindness, even when you dislike this like me, you
would still have the task done. It is noticed that it is indeed a lot simpler to
weed whether to keep either return my vinyl to the cutting mat, so it lies flat
and remains put.
Cut a strip of transfer tape this very same size as the design after the design
has been weeded. The backing is removed from the transfer tape. By keeping
the transfer tape mostly in the form of a taco, attach the transfer tape onto
your vinyl decal, instead position the base of the taco in the center of the
design. Smooth that tape outwards from the middle, over the decal.
Using a scraper tool and another rough and flat-edged object with the
transfer tape in position to transfer your vinyl decal design to a transfer tape.
To move the vinyl decal, it is really necessary to scrape that very well.
Step No. 5: Surface preparation for the Vinyl decal
Wash off the area. You can use rubbing alcohol or a lint-free towel to add the
design. As this may leave a stain, Cannot use window cleaner.
Before going on to the next stage, let the surface dry entirely.
Step No. 6: Apply design to The Appliance.
Peel a carrier paper off the decal slowly. If they wouldn't want to move little
pieces of it to the tape, scrape this again and carefully give attention to
certain problematic parts.
Position your design on the surface currently, making sure that this is
straight & centered. If that's not, as long as you've pushed it down upon this
decal, you can generally peel it off and readjust it.
It would help if you created tiny cuts in the transfer tape whether you have
trouble getting the decal to go through curved surfaces, as my KitchenAid
mixer will enable the vinyl to adopt the curve and lie smooth.
Scrape down to the bottom of the transfer tape and use a scraper tool that
transfers the appliance pattern.
Only take up a corner of a transfer tape now or remove this from the decal
gradually.
And that is that. Can you see how simple it is? It is an easy and enjoyable
way for the appliances to produce pleasant discussion decals.
4. Blade DIY Letterboard Cricut Maker Knife
Have you tried the Blade of the Cricut Creator Knife so far? It is supposed to
go for that. For the Cricut Maker, that knife blade is indeed a revolutionary
tool that makes possible previously unheard projects. This cool letterboard
type ledge would be a cinch to use the Cricut Creator Knife Blade for make.
Materials:
Cricut Maker
Craft Foam 12x18
Cricut Knife Blade Cricut Chipboard
Pine Board 12x12
School Glue
Purple Cricut Mat 12X24
1x2 Boards cut to 12inches.
Blue Painters Tape
Hot Glue/gun
That adaptive tool kit of The Cricut allows scoring wheel, rotary blade, knife
blade, and who knows what is next to be used. For a moment, let's talk
regarding the Knife Blade. Materials that are rated to be cut by the knife
blade are:
Cricut Chipboard, 2mm
Balsa wood, 3/32"
Tooling leather, 7 oz
Garment leather, 5oz
Matboard, 2-ply or 4-ply
Basswood, 1/16"
Craft foam, 3mm
If you've never used that blade of a knife yet, start adjusting the blade. Get
on the sidebar for CDS.
Much as pictured. It will protect the material which is being cut from
becoming grooved and gouged.
Stick the craft foam upon this purple mat, then tape the corners with tape for
painters.
Position the blade inside the Cricut Maker.
Place the material for Craft Foam Two passes will be made.
Check to see whether the cut has reached into the material before removing
your mat. One more pass was needed to do it. Then take here all letters out
again and remove your mat.
With such enjoyable letters, too many options are there.
Presently cut the backing parts on the Cricut Chipboard only with Cricut
Maker. That Cricut Chipboard is designed differently from other chipboards,
but the knife blade or the Maker blade is optimized.
Tape over chipboard to the purple mat, the very same concept as before
everything you have to do now is to cut 1.5X3inches rectangular shapes and
a couple of 2x3inches shapes with the W's and M's.
Put one letter around each board now. Adhere to them all with one sitting or
only choose the sentence you like and then arrange it.
Using the hot glue for binding to your chipboard with craft foam letters.
Now to have the letterboard set. So simple it is. They'll support you out at
the home improvement shop if you do not have the power equipment to cut
those wood yourself. You should have a 12x12inches board and afterward
12-inch long 1x2 strips.
Measure and label the 4inch and 8inch on the sides of a pine board. Again,
for the opposite side, instead, repeat the labeling process.
Running a school/wood glue squiggle on each side of a 1x2 strip.
Above the marks made, put the boards downward, including the final one
right along its lower end.
And just there on the ledge are indeed the letters on the chipboard.
Letters from the chipboard are just sitting on the ledge.
That chipboard is strong enough to properly carry these all-in place. And
anyway, you haven't been using Cricut Maker Knife Blade so far think
you're going to have to go with it.
5. How to Build a Paper House DIY
Materials:
1. Mod Podge
2. Faux Snow
3. White Cardstock
4. Glue Stick/Adhesive Tape Runner
Tools:
Craft Foam Brush
Cricut Cutting Machine
Instructions:
For either of the Cricut Cutting Devices, such a project could
be carried out. In the design space, the housing prototype was
found If you're not using a Cricut and want to create this
project, there seem to be many folding house models online
on a quick google. This one is quite adorable.
1. Inside the design space, locate the paper house prototype.
There seem to be a few to pick from.
2. Using white cardstock, fill your mat.
3. Follow that cutting prompts from Cricut.
4. Cautiously peel this off the mat unless you have your
design. It is going to be cut and score.
5. All along scoring lines, fold one element. The 2nd folds in a
mirror fashion so that the house may come together.
Materials:
Cricut Maker
Hot glue gun
Rotary blade for fabric
Strong Grip Mat
Scissors
Cricut Felt material of different colors.
Instructions:
1. Firstly, Clean up the space for working. Switch on the laptop or device
having design space.
2. Now, have a new project started.
3. You would need to buy an image from the Cricut Access for this project.
If you want to purchase an individual picture, you will have to pay a small
amount, but if you have a subscription to Cricut Access, it will be simple to
access.
4. Select the SVG of the Felt Bow.
5. Next, upload the Design Space template. On the canvas, this will appear.
6. The color of every bow on the design can now be resized and modified.
7. This is ready for the project to be created but remember not to unlock it.
Already attached are the individual bows.
8. The design can be unlocked if you choose to cut the whole project with
the same color & same material. And all the components are attached and
cut on the same piece of felt. Each bow is created on a different piece of felt
in this tutorial, however.
9. Click on the 'Make It' button when you're comfortable with the plan.
10. Next comes a Prepare screen. On a distinct mat, each bow appears.
11. Pick the right material on the Make screen. Because the Cricut Felt is
used, there is no need to adjust the size of the Mat.
12. Check that the Cricut Maker has been installed with the rotary cutter.
This blade is for fabric in particular and is unique to Cricut Maker.
13. Next, ready the Strong Grip Mat with the felt.
14. Install the Mat in the machine and allow the cutting to be carried out.
15. From Cricut Mat Remove the Felt. It would leave all the bow
components behind.
16. For other felt sheets, repeat the same process.
17. For the bows, separate all of the cut pieces.
18. Now, since you have all the cutouts, have the bows assembled.
19. Take out the first cut, to the middle fold one side, and stick the adhesive
on it. Repeat on the other side, all the same. You'll have the basic shape of a
bow.
20. Turn the bow over and stick it with the glue gun on the cut out of a larger
bow.
21. Now, wrap tightly around a thin cutout in the center and tie it to the back.
22. By stacking & sticking the parts from big to small, the other bow
is assembled equally also. Through the middle cutout, then secure them.
23. In a manner, so it has 4 corners, cut the next bow. It is important to put
each corner into the center and glue it into the center.
24. Then, you'll wrap the middle cut out around it and securely glue it. A
ribbon cutout would be added to the back.
25. These bows may also be mixed and matched or can be rendered in solid
colors.
26. For gifts for children and holiday gift wrapping, these bows could be
included. These bows would be most effective for attaching to the
headbands, hairpins, and hair ties of little girls.
7. DIY Vinyl Phone Cases
For many, updating their phone cover has been a really common thing. It can
be costly to buy phone covers, however, and they hardly offer any design.
You can make some DIY phone cover today with the support of the Cricut &
some vinyl practice.
DIY Mobile Case Supplies
• Cricut Maker/Cricut Explore
• Phone cases
• Weeding tools
• Vinyl
• Acrylic sealer
• Fonts or Images to create designs.
To launch Design Space in your device is the first step. Cut your pic, then,
and weed it. Make sure that the case size is checked and that the image is
accurately scaled.
Then burn the prototype for delivery onto the tape. Scrap the vinyl on the
sheet using the Cricut scraper for the front & back. And from the cover, take
away the transfer tape.
Group the image together and put it on the cover of the frame. Use the time
with the fingertips or push the image flat with the Cricut scraper instrument.
Carefully raise your transfer tape, go steadily, and wait if you need to modify
the record.
Sealing the outside of the phone case with a transparent acrylic sealer mod
podge is proposed as the last step. Essentially, coating the substance will
help hold it in place to repel water.
4.3 Cricut Advanced projects
1. Decorative Birdhouse
This is an advanced level project, and it takes about 4 hours to complete the
project. This project of Birdhouse is a wonderful one. In the free projects
of Design Space, this project is included. With all the settings &
measurements in order, a ready-made project is this. You have to pick this
project & click "Make it." But just be careful; before you try this one, you
should try a couple more projects if you are inexperienced. This project is an
advanced one. There are more than 2 different materials used for this
Birdhouse in the making. There would be chipboard for the base materials.
There are also three separate cutting tools involved. You can keep this
Birdhouse as a gift for yourself. Also, it is perfect for gifting.
Materials:
Easy Press 2 (Cricut)
Cricut Maker Machine
White glue
Hooked weeding tool.
Damask patterned chipboard
Cricut chipboard
Fusible fabric(red)
Glittered vinyl (Silver)
Premium permanent vinyl in red and pink
Knife blade
Adhesive foil (red)
Fine point blade
Rotary blade
Instructions:
1. It is most important to have a tidy, clutter-free area for any project first.
2. Then gather all the tools, products, and all the assorted blades you may
need.
3. Switch on the laptop or device including design space and begin once all
of the above is done. You would not have to plan this project since this
project is already existing in the Design Space.
4. Only go to the projects & pick the design for the Birdhouse and click
'Make It.'
5. Now, as straightforward as it is, it may require some time and experience
to finish the entire project.
6. When you press on the option of Make it, you can start the cutting phase.
7. You will be instructed by the software on the materials & blades to be
used.
ohg8. This project is going to be cut into 20 mats, according to the
directions.
9. First, the knife blade is installed, and as Mat one, cut Demask Patterned
chipboard.
10. You can also use the chipboard for Mats 2 and 3. design space will now
have guidance for several successful cutting passes. For every material sheet
or Mat, you should obey the instructions to complete the cutting entirely.
11. The blade will be modified to a fine point blade after the chipboards have
been cut. The three forms of the sheet would be cut using this blade:
Sticky foil
Permanent vinyl (premium) on both sheets
Glitter vinyl sheet
12. For these cuttings, the regular cutting mat would be used.n13. First, it is
important to change the blade to the rotary blade. The fuse cloth cutouts can
be quickly cut with these.
13. Next, you have to adjust the blade to a rotary blade. The cutouts of
fusible fabric can be easily cut with these.
14. The cutting phase will end with this step. You should set the Cricut
Maker aside now. And use the tool of hooked weeding to start weeding.
15. You will begin assembling the project after all the wedding is finished.
16. First, all the vinyl cuttings will be transferred to the chipboard cuttings
appropriately.
17. With the assistance of the Cricut Press 2, move the fusible fabric
to rooftop cuttings. The Easypress is heated to 300 degrees F and For 30
seconds, hold the cupboard & fabric under the press. Before using it, let it
cool.
18. Join them with the aid of white glue when ready are all the projects.
2. How to create a project for Cricut larger than Mat.
You should use a method known as 'tiling' if you try to create something
bigger than the big mat. Such techniques produce big car & wall decals,
massive wood signs, and huge paper projects. By using the Slice feature,
tiling a large-scale picture with the Cricut is quite simple. Using this
beautiful Pin, the Tail onto Llama game. It is great for celebrations for kids.
Materials:
White cardstock
Double-Sided Tape
Several colors of colored cardstock

Cricut Explore or Maker
Llama SVG File
Design Space Guidance Bigger Than Mat For The Cricut Project
Begin by uploading that SVG llama into Design Space.
Let's assume to create this 3 'high and 2' big llama, clearly too large to
accommodate on the mat. By using Edit Toolbar, begin with resizing your
image.
You may zoom in to the bottom left if that's too large to see the whole
project.
In the Layers Panel, mostly on the right, cover each layer via pressing the
"eye" button beside each layer. Operate on a single layer when you're doing
your project with a little more for one layer, which requires to be tiled. The
whole project has two layers, the llama or the blue blanket part, which
should be tiled.
Within Design Panel, mostly on the left, build the rectangle from a Shapes
menu.
Choose both the rectangle and the llama, and then at the lower part of a
Layers Panel, mostly on the right, press Slice. With more bits than you might
imagine, Slice still leaves you. Delete anything from the original image
which is not part of it. You will now see two bits, one that sits on a 12" x 24"
mat.
Create another rectangle about 11.5inches x 23.5inches and put it as you did
before over the llama, then Slice's next part. Proceed until it is less than
11.5inches x 23.5inches with every part of the llama.
Unhide the sheet of the blue blanket, then cut the one in two in the same
manner.
You're able to cut the project off now. In the cut file, five llama tails have
been included. However, if you want more, then use Duplicate choice to
create as many as you want. Unhide the blanket layers of the llama such that
they also cut.
Tap the "Make It" button, and Design Space would carry you to a Prepare
screen. These would show you the layout of all the mats and alert you that
you can have products that require a big mat.
Select Continue to be sent to Make Screen. Choose your product, ensure you
have installed the right blade into the machine, then cut your project.
To assemble Your Llama
Using the tape on the backside of your cardstock to arrange your llama on
the wall until you get all of your bits cut out.
On the backend of a llama tail, use some double-sided tape, blindfold that
kiddos, and seeing how near they could come.

Based on the project and the material you're dealing with, there seem
to be two ways. However, the Cricut Design Space may indicate
which one to choose. They are easy to switch and clearly labeled.
Single Scoring Wheel: it allows the deep single line score suitable
for uncoated lightweight materials such as regular cardstock, crepe
paper, and acetate also.
Double Scoring Wheel: it forms two deep, parallel score lines
suitable for cereal boxes, light chipboard, cork, or other heavier,
coated items such as cardboard and poster board.

The blade or perhaps the scoring wheel.
3. Once the first run for scoring is over, it is now ready to cut your
design. You're going to unload, change out the blade scoring wheel
and reload. To obey the prompts, proceed.
They will make perfect table toppers for celebrations, weddings, all
sorts of fun, indoors or out, as you've seen.
6. DIY Hanging Plant Stand
It is an outstanding concept for flower beds or the front porches.
You will learn how to create a hanging baskets plant stand from beginning to
end. It is an ideal low-cost craft, and it's one of the items everyone loves.
That makes sure they're better sellers and ideal presents.

At Lowes, you could buy wood, and you could find it in every home
improvement store. 2x4s (2) 6 feet in length And one 2-6 (1) 6 feet in length
And 1'6 inches can be bought. If you do not have a scrap pile, remember to
look for the market's scrap store. They sell cheap bits of wood in smaller
sizes for dirt.
If you have the vinyl upon this plant stand as your stand will be outdoors,
please ensure using the PERMANENT Vinyl. The finest permanent vinyl
seems to be the Oracle 651. For such a project, Silver color has been used.
How to Build a Hanging Plants DIY Stand
Breaking and painting the wood
Measuring the wood then cut it down will be the first task you will be doing.
Use a sander to smooth and clean their ends And corners before they're cut.
Make sure that any rough edges or splinters are eliminated.
Then paint each side, but don't skip the ends. You should use Manta Ray
from Sea Paint, which is their black color. You would enjoy it because of
how quickly it goes on And how pigmented this is. You may have only one
coat to use.
When the paint has dried up, it is time to put the frame back.
Create the frame.
Using the 2x4s for creating a rectangle. The top & bottom of the plant stand
would be the smaller ones, and the sides would be larger.
Then, across top & bottom to sides, screw the pieces of wood.
Start by drilling holes in which the screws would go. Make sure the wood
pieces are correctly lined up, and then drill two holes using your drill bit
right thru the upper 2-4 and even to the end of a side 2-4.
For a screw, turn the drill bit out, and move the screws throughout the holes
you made. Also, ensure it is lined up when the holes were drilled And when
you drive the screws in such that your rectangular frame is leveled.
Repeat this process for any corner of your frame.
When you've your basic frame, the next step is to attach the top And bottom
parts, covering up some screws.
Attach the bottom And top.
Taking one 2x6, spread this out, then place the adhesive in the middle. And
you place it on top of your wooden frame. It will basically be the top of the
welcome plant stand, and go forward and drill 2 holes now, screwing the
pieces together from inside.
Next, do just the same for the base of the stand, but you would want to create
screw holes along the outside of the frame rather than drilling from inside so
that these two screws would not be noticeable when it is standing on the
deck.
You can now have a basic 2x4 frame, with the 2x6 screwed at either end to
the top And bottom of the stand.
Since this is meant to become a plant stand for the hanging basket, you
might also want to add, of necessity, the hook to put the basket on. Drill your
underside of the top 2 * 4 with a tiny hole. Add some glue to the hook's
strings, and screw this in the hole. Always ensure it is nice & tight.
Attach a front.
Then, you are going to place a 1/6 plate on the front side of the stand. It is
where you can put the Welcoming Vinyl later, or anything else that you want
to modify it with.
Line that 1-6 just under the 2-6 to the top of the frame And nail it in the spot.
Tip: Using nails here rather than screws, as nails are simple to cover-up
After this, go ahead & place a protector upon this wood. When the
permanent vinyl is added, do it now. You wouldn't want poly around the
vinyl, but you would like a sealer on wood because the plant stand will be
outside.
You have finished making a stand for the DIY plant, so it would be safe to
cut out vinyl for the final touch.
Welcome to the Plant Stand Vinyl Cut out or Add.
Notice that before you put it into the Design Space, the picture is around 10
inches in length x 2.8 inches high. And for this project, you would want to
create this 4 inches high anyway. "To do that and get on "Scale" in the
middle of a top menu, then change the height to 4.
"Design Space would hold the proportions instantly, rendering it about 13.9
inches long. "That is indeed going to start looking fantastic, but it also
implies you are going to cut that on the 24-inch mat.
After changing the picture size, press the Rend It icon. A note telling you to
use a big, perfectly fine, cut mat can be seen. Select OK, then choose
Continue.
Unless you've had a Cricut Explore, adjust the dial for vinyl. Whether you've
had a Cricut Maker, choose Matte Vinyl from the selection of materials.
Ensure that your fine-point blade is loaded, and you are prepared to cut.
You could line up your vinyl upon this top left corner of a cut board. After
you have loaded the vinyl onto the sheet, fit this under the Cricut tabs, push
the Load button, and then go.
As Cricut completes cutting, Unload your Mat.
Tip: It helps keep this from messing up while separating this from the vinyl
by turning the mat upside-down.
Weed and Transfer a Welcome Decal
It's ready to weed the vinyl: peel the extra vinyl around the word and now,
with the weeding instrument, dig out all the letter's insides.
Next, have the transfer tape set. Peel back And fold one end of the transfer
tape back And stick that end down to a vinyl end And to the table. Go peel
off back as you slowly smooth your fingertips down the front.
Burnish the scraper instrument very well enough that the transfer tape holds
to vinyl.
All that needs to be achieved now is to apply the plant stand to the vinyl.
Wherever you want it, line up your vinyl, and keep it in position while one
end of a backing gets folded back & stuck down? It will then be as the
transfer tape: detach the backing simultaneously as you smoother down the
front.
And finally, to burnish it clean, use scraper strongly. Once you're sure that
now the vinyl is conformed to wood and that you are finished, go ahead and
remove the transfer tape.
Now you have a beautiful, welcoming plant stand which you created for
yourself.

7. DIY Hogwarts Set
The Harry Potter is popular among many. This coaster set is quick to make
for your interior decoration using this Cricut and a few little tricks and will
also offer a great gift idea to fellow Harry Potter fans.
To make these Hogwarts House Coasters, you'll need to proceed with these
supplies:
• Coaster blanks Cricut square
• Copy paper 3-4 sheets.
• Infusible Paint Markers in Cricut
• Bag plastic Sandwich
• Cricut EasyPress Mat, 12x12
• Spray Bottle
• Tape resistant to fire
• Cricut EasyPress, 9x9
Draw a coaster softly onto a piece of copy paper using a pencil. Over the
paper, position a plastic sandwich bag and make random scribbles using
distinct blends of red Infusible markers. From below, Push the sheet and then
spray the plastic bag softly with a spray bottle loaded with water.
Softly put the paper face down on top of the bag and press gently. The ink is
moved to the paper rapidly, which can damage the watercolor. You'll see
the running appearance on the wrong leg as you spray too much mud. It
won't work very well, so there isn't a lot of ink to infuse.
If you want to add more paint, you can transfer more ink to the watercolor
for a beautiful, layered look and a bolder effect. Only ensure that the paper is
dry before another layer is inserted.
Modify the ink transition period in blue, black, and purple for coaster
versions. Cut the outlines about 1/4" bigger than the pencil marks whenever
the papers are in the process of drying and that you are pleased with the
feeling. You can delete the pencil marks after ensuring if the paper is clear.
With a lint-free towel, scrub the coaster clean on top of the coaster Position
the paper facedown. Tightly wrap the edges around and hold the edges with
heat-resistant tape in place on the rear side of the coaster.
Cover the floor with a layer of cardstock by Placing the EasyPress Pad on
your desk. On the cardstock, Place the facedown coaster and add another
sheet of cardstock on top. To get the precise temperature and time settings
for the EasyPress, look at the heat guide. Place the EasyPress over the
coaster carefully and click the green Cricut key to trigger the timer.
When the timer beeps, cautiously disable EasyPress. Let the coasters cool
slightly before attempting to hit or force it.
Remove the tape and paper to display the coasters till the coasters finally
cooled down, The paint can be more vibrant than the paper, and people love
how they sound like they have been watercolored.
If you concentrate on Harry Potter's upcoming magical step, set down the
coasters.
"In Design Space, launch the Hogwarts Crest SVG (for personal use only).
Scale the image to fit on a 3.5" x 3.5" coaster. In the top right corner, click
the green "Print It" key before you are satisfied with the size.
Using all Cricut devices, you can slice Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets. A
LightGrip Mat (blue), Several black Infusible Ink Transferring Sheets, and a
tool kit are also needed, all built specifically for use with Cricut Joy.
It is utilizing the weaving instruments to gently remove some parts of the
design that may not match. Because by rubbing the materials, you can
unintentionally leave marks or lose any of the Infusible Paint. Attempt to
clean the outer layer when weeding away the design's inner portion. It takes
off the design fingertips, and every tincture rubbed off is from a part that can
be disposed of afterward.
With a lint-free towel, scrub the coasters clean. Facedown on the coaster,
place the transfer sheet of Infusible Ink and firmly push it down. Holding it
in alignment with heat-resistant tape when possible.
Place the EasyPress Pad on the desk and put a cardstock sheet to cover the
pad. This time place the coaster faceup on the cardstock and place a butcher
paper strip on top. Place the EasyPress gently on the coaster, and to start the
timer, click the Cricut button.
Detach the EasyPress carefully when the timer beeps. Let the coasters cool
Fully without having to reach or force them. They will be hot.
Clear the coasters from the Infusible Ink mats. If possible, use tweezers to
retrieve small pieces. Do not use colored cleaning agents, scrubbing pads, or
steel wool to make the coasters appear their best.
