from millions of people across the length and breadth of a huge subcontinent like
India.
We have always believed in fair and transparent business. We have believed that the
customer should be understood so well that we know his needs much before he
understands them himself. We have believed that an enlightened customer is the best
customer. These are the simple principles that have helped us reach where we are

We believe we are in the right path towards the accomplishment of our vision to
expand business and serve customers across the world.

Mr. Sanjeev Soni-Partner

I feel our biggest differentiator is not only the ability to understand local, think local
and act local, but at the same time bring in our vast experience and sourcing strength
out of operating in multiple markets. Jewellery is a complicated product, because
tastes vary even within the same state. What helps us here is the huge variety of
products we stock from artisans across the country .We carefully and painstakingly
select the designs of our products and customize them according to the demands of
the consumer demography of each market we step into as India is such a vast country
with diverse tastes.
We have something for everyone. Highly skilled craftsmen create our products along
with stringent quality control measures which creates that perfection in the products
we sell.

Mr. Rajiv Kumar-Partner

We have always visualized everything on a large scale. We always enjoyed making the
road and never thought of following a trail. Massive marketing campaigns and
launches, path-breaking ads which were never-before seen in jewellery advertising,
multi-storey large format jewellery showrooms, same-day multi-launch ceremonies
and events. We have always worked with the best to endorse our products at all levels,
we have always believed in thinking ahead of the customer, in his interest, for his
interest.
We have immense gratitude towards everybody who set their feet into a SONI
JEWELLES store and we would always want everyone to continue to be a part of this
vibrant family at SONI JEWELLERS and we will do anything and everything for that.

confined in that unit of GCW. In these unit 15 employees has been chosen randomly by random
sampling method.

health and employee well being”. He concluded the research addressingoccupational health
and employee well being concentrates on 4 major areas in organizationalpsychology, job
insecurity, work hours, control at work and managerial style. The heightenedpressure can
impact their behavior towards employees.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology comprises of two words that are research and methodology.

Researchrefers to a search for knowledge.Researchis scientific and systematic search

forpertinent information on specific topic.

Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. Research

Methodology refers to a back philosophy of research. As an example of methodology in theoretical
work, the development of paradigms satisfies most or all of the criteria for methodology. A
paradigm, like an algorithm, is a ‘constructive’ framework, meaning that the so-called
construction is a logical, rather than a physical, array of connected or intercalated elements.
Therefore in order to solve a research problem it is necessary to design a research methodology
for the easy and accurate solution of the problem.

There are benefits of research to different parties:

Benefit to researcher:- It enhances the practical knowledge of researcher.

Benefit to employees:- The problems of employees come in the air.

Benefit to organization:-The factors that employees want for job satisfaction come into the
eye of management and this helps in reducing turnover.

RESEARCH DESIGN:-

Research Designs are concerned with turning the research question into a testing project.

17 | P a g e
The best design depends on your research questions. Every design has its positive and negative
sides. The research design has been considered as a "blueprint" for research, dealing with at
least four problems: what questions to study, what data are relevant, what data to collect, and
how to analyze the results.

The research is of descriptive in nature, which could provide an accurate picture of marketing
procedure conducted in the organization. Descriptive research includes surveys and fact-finding
inquiries of different kinds. The research is of Ex post facto nature in which researcher no control
over the variables has. Statistical method lay stress on objectivity rather than rely on intuition
and judgment and average & percentages can easily be calculated.

The following methodology was adopted in project :-

• Questionnaire study
• Interview
• Analysis of the primary data.

SAMPLE DESIGN:-
A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a given population. It refers to the
technique or the procedure that is adopted in selecting the sampling units from which inferences
about the population is drawn. Sampling design is determined before the collection of the data.

 Sampling Unit:-A decision has to be taken concerning a sampling unit before selecting
sample.
 Sampling unit:- may beEmployees of ACC
 Source list:-It contains the names of all items of a universe.
 Size of sample:-It refers to the number of items to be selected from the universe to constitute
a sample. It indicates the number of individuals who would be surveyed. Here the sample size
is 30respondents
 Research Design:-Descriptive
 Sampling:-Simple Random Sampling
 Data:- Primary and Secondary Data
 Tools:-Questionnaire
 Sample Size:-30

18 | P a g e
METHODSOF DATA COLLECTION:-
Broadly the data has been collected through:-

1. Primary Data
2. Secondary Data

Primary data:-Primary data are those which are collected for the first time and thus happen to
be original in character. Primary data has been collected through:-

Questionnaires:-It is considered as the heart of survey operations and therefore should be very
carefully constructed. It consists of a number of questions printed or typed in a definite order
which is filled by the respondents on their own. A good questionnaire should be comparatively
short and simple and the sequence shall be from easy the difficult ones.

Advantages of questionnaires are:

 They are economical.

 They are free from the biasness of the interviewers.
 Respondents have adequate time to give well thought to their answers.
 Respondents can be reached conveniently.
 Large samples can be used and therefore the results are more dependable.
Secondary data has been collected through:-

 Magazines
 Journals
 HR Manuals
 Websites

protective equipments provided by ACC.

 LIMITATIONS OF STUDY:
 Carrying the survey was a general learning experience for us but we also faced some
problems, which are listed here:
 Time was among the most critical limitation of this study. This whole study is done with in a
small time period of 6 weeks.

 Respondents were reluctant to discover complete and correct information.

CHAPTER-4
4.1 Findings and suggestions
4.2 conclusions of the study

 FINDINGS AND SUGGESTIONS:

 Under this study I found that ACC is employee welfare- oriented company.
 Housing facility provided to employees is very good but the living standard of low- level
employees is not up to mark that’s by they are not satisfied with housing facility.
 Medical facility is also very good but its level should be increased.
 Sports & cultural facility is quite good but it should also be provided to non-management
staff.

38 | P a g e
 Co-operative society is one of the best facilities given to employees which are helpful in
retaining.
 Another finding is regarding salary that management staff is satisfied with their salary but
non-management staff has complaint regarding their salary. The organization should be
enhance the salary system of non- management staff.
 Incentives are not up to the mark.So incentives should be increased specially of non-
management staff.
 Training provided to employees is very good. Its level should be increased up to excellent level
because it may reduce accidents.
 Loan is one of the best welfare activities which have reduced the burden of employees.

 CONCLUSION:
At last I would like to conclude that ACC is India’s biggest cement company. And ACC is welfare-
oriented organization. ACC Gagal provides many welfare facilities to their employees. Adequate
care is taken to provide amenities and facilities for the welfare of the employees and those living
in its township. The large colony is made up of 440 houses set amidst picturesque surroundings.
A water treatment plant ensures the supply of clean drinking water. The colony boasts of an
English medium DAV Higher Secondary school where admission is open not just to employee’s
children but others in the vicinity. Other amenities include a canteen, Bank, Post Office, Co-
operative Store, Sports club with recreational facilities.

A well-equipped Hospital with 16 beds, X-ray machine, ECG & pathological laboratory and three
full-time doctors cater to the medical needs of employees as well as people of nearby
surroundings. From time to time medical camps and health drives are organized in adjoining
villages with mobile hospitals and regular participation in various National Health
Programmeslike eye camps, family planning camp, blood donation camp and immunisation
camp. ACC Gagal promotes health care seminars such as on AIDS.
