COMPANY PROFILE:-
Having ventured into Jewellery retailing in 2005 with Name of SONI JEWELLERS a

We at SONI JEWELLERS have always believed that the customer needs to be educated

this philosophy we have conducted several campaigns over the years, to educate
customers about purity, pricing and other aspects. These efforts of SONI JEWELLERS

Personally, I believe SONI JEWELLERS’ major achievement is the trust we have earned
from millions of people across the length and breadth of a huge subcontinent like
India.
We have always believed in fair and transparent business. We have believed that the
customer should be understood so well that we know his needs much before he
understands them himself. We have believed that an enlightened customer is the best
customer. These are the simple principles that have helped us reach where we are

Mr. Sanjeev Soni-Partner
I feel our biggest differentiator is not only the ability to understand local, think local
and act local, but at the same time bring in our vast experience and sourcing strength
out of operating in multiple markets. Jewellery is a complicated product, because
tastes vary even within the same state. What helps us here is the huge variety of
products we stock from artisans across the country .We carefully and painstakingly
select the designs of our products and customize them according to the demands of
the consumer demography of each market we step into as India is such a vast country
with diverse tastes.
We have something for everyone. Highly skilled craftsmen create our products along
with stringent quality control measures which creates that perfection in the products
we sell.
We have always visualized everything on a large scale. We always enjoyed making the
road and never thought of following a trail. Massive marketing campaigns and
launches, path-breaking ads which were never-before seen in jewellery advertising,
multi-storey large format jewellery showrooms, same-day multi-launch ceremonies
and events. We have always worked with the best to endorse our products at all levels,
we have always believed in thinking ahead of the customer, in his interest, for his
interest.
We have immense gratitude towards everybody who set their feet into a SONI
JEWELLES store and we would always want everyone to continue to be a part of this
vibrant family at SONI JEWELLERS and we will do anything and everything for that.

Labour welfare includes various facilities, services and amenities provided to workers for
improving their health, efficiency, economic betterment and social status.
Welfare measures are in addition to regular wages and other economic benefits available to
workers due to legal provisions and collective bargaining
Labour welfare schemes are flexible and ever-changing. New welfare measures are added to
the existing ones from time to time.
The purpose of labour welfare is to bring about the development of the whole personality of the
workers to make a better workforce.
To relieve workers from industrial fatigue and to improve intellectual, cultural and material
conditions of living of the workers.
The very logic behind providing welfare schemes is to create efficient, healthy, loyal and
satisfied labour force for the organization.
The purpose of providing such facilities is to make their work life better and also to raise their
standard of living.
10 | P a g e
Facilities like housing schemes, medical benefits, and education and recreation
facilities for workers’ families help in raising their standards of living. This makes workers to
pay more attention towards work and thus increases their productivity.
Employers get stable labour force by providing welfare facilities. Workers take active interest in
their jobs and work with a feeling of involvement and participation.
Employee welfare measures increase the productivity of organization and promote healthy
industrial relations thereby maintaining industrial peace.
The social evils prevalent among the labours such as substance abuse, etc. are reduced to a
greater extent by the welfare policies.
EMPLOYEE WELFARE: -
Employee welfare defines as “efforts to make life worth living for workmen”. These efforts have
their origin either in some statute formed by the state or in some local custom or in collective
agreement or in the employer’s own initiative.
Fencing of machinery. All dangerous and moving parts of machinery shall be securely fenced.
Screws, bolts and teeth shall be completely encased to prevent danger.
11 | P a g e
Work on or near machinery in motion. Lubrication or other adjusting operation on moving
machinery shall be done only by a specially trained adult male worker.
EMPLOYEE WELLFARE: -

their origin either in some statute formed by the state or in some local custom or in collective
agreement or in the employer’s own initiative.
Welfare of Employees: -
Chapter V of the factories Act contains provisions about the welfare of employees. These
are as follows:

and female employees.
There shall be suitable places provided for clothing not worn during working hours
and for the dying of wet clothing.
There shall be suitable arrangement for all workers to sit for taking rest if they are
obliged to work in a standing position.
There shall be provided the required number of first-aid boxes or cupboard (at the rate
of one for every 150 workers) equipped with the prescribed contents readily available
during the working hours of the factory.
The State Government may make rules requiring that in any specified factory
employing more than 250 employees a canteen shall be provided and maintained by
the occupier for the use of the employee.
There shall be provided sufficiently lighted and ventilated lunch room if the number of
employees ordinarily employed is more than 150.
The chapter on the Directive Principles of State Policy in our Constitution expresses the need
for labour welfare thus:
The State shall strive to promote the welfare of the people by securing and protecting as
effectively as it may a social order in which justice, social, economic and political, shall inform
all the institutions of the national life.
That the citizens, men and women equally, have the right to an adequate means of livelihood;
That the ownership and control of the material resources are so distributed as to subservice
the common good.
The State shall make provision for securing just and humane conditions of work and for
maternity relief.
The principal Act to provide for various labour welfare measures in India is the Factories Act,

used and 20 or more workers where power is not used, and where a manufacturing process is
being carried on.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology comprises of two words that are research and methodology.
Benefit to organization:-The factors that employees want for job satisfaction come into the
eye of management and this helps in reducing turnover.
RESEARCH DESIGN:-
17 | P a g e
The best design depends on your research questions. Every design has its positive and negative
sides. The research design has been considered as a "blueprint" for research, dealing with at
least four problems: what questions to study, what data are relevant, what data to collect, and
how to analyze the results.
The research is of descriptive in nature, which could provide an accurate picture of marketing
procedure conducted in the organization. Descriptive research includes surveys and fact-finding
inquiries of different kinds. The research is of Ex post facto nature in which researcher no control
over the variables has. Statistical method lay stress on objectivity rather than rely on intuition
and judgment and average & percentages can easily be calculated.
• Questionnaire study
• Interview
• Analysis of the primary data.
SAMPLE DESIGN:-
A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a given population. It refers to the
technique or the procedure that is adopted in selecting the sampling units from which inferences
about the population is drawn. Sampling design is determined before the collection of the data.
Sampling Unit:-A decision has to be taken concerning a sampling unit before selecting
sample.
Sampling unit:- may beEmployees of ACC
Source list:-It contains the names of all items of a universe.
Size of sample:-It refers to the number of items to be selected from the universe to constitute
a sample. It indicates the number of individuals who would be surveyed. Here the sample size
is 30respondents
Research Design:-Descriptive
Sampling:-Simple Random Sampling
Data:- Primary and Secondary Data
Tools:-Questionnaire
Sample Size:-30

METHODSOF DATA COLLECTION:-
Broadly the data has been collected through:-
1. Primary Data
2. Secondary Data
Primary data:-Primary data are those which are collected for the first time and thus happen to
be original in character. Primary data has been collected through:-
Questionnaires:-It is considered as the heart of survey operations and therefore should be very
carefully constructed. It consists of a number of questions printed or typed in a definite order
which is filled by the respondents on their own. A good questionnaire should be comparatively
short and simple and the sequence shall be from easy the difficult ones.

LIMITATIONS OF STUDY:
Carrying the survey was a general learning experience for us but we also faced some
problems, which are listed here:
Time was among the most critical limitation of this study. This whole study is done with in a
small time period of 6 weeks.
The sample size is small.
Generally the respondents were busy in their work.
36 | P a g e
Respondents were reluctant to discover complete and correct information.
Due to different shifts of working of employees, whole management staff could not be covered
in this study.
Questionnaires were not returned on time despite several reminders.
Omission of replies to certain questions.
Due to human behaviour information may be biased.
37 | P a g e
CHAPTER-4
4.1 Findings and suggestions
4.2 conclusions of the study
38 | P a g e
Co-operative society is one of the best facilities given to employees which are helpful in
retaining.
Another finding is regarding salary that management staff is satisfied with their salary but
non-management staff has complaint regarding their salary. The organization should be
enhance the salary system of non- management staff.
Incentives are not up to the mark.So incentives should be increased specially of non-
management staff.
Training provided to employees is very good. Its level should be increased up to excellent level
because it may reduce accidents.
Loan is one of the best welfare activities which have reduced the burden of employees.
CONCLUSION:
At last I would like to conclude that ACC is India’s biggest cement company. And ACC is welfare-
oriented organization. ACC Gagal provides many welfare facilities to their employees. Adequate
care is taken to provide amenities and facilities for the welfare of the employees and those living
in its township. The large colony is made up of 440 houses set amidst picturesque surroundings.
A water treatment plant ensures the supply of clean drinking water. The colony boasts of an
English medium DAV Higher Secondary school where admission is open not just to employee’s
children but others in the vicinity. Other amenities include a canteen, Bank, Post Office, Co-
operative Store, Sports club with recreational facilities.
A well-equipped Hospital with 16 beds, X-ray machine, ECG & pathological laboratory and three
full-time doctors cater to the medical needs of employees as well as people of nearby
surroundings. From time to time medical camps and health drives are organized in adjoining
villages with mobile hospitals and regular participation in various National Health
Programmeslike eye camps, family planning camp, blood donation camp and immunisation
camp. ACC Gagal promotes health care seminars such as on AIDS.
