Airline Management System (Pujita Deshpande)

This document proposes an airline management system to control airline operations such as scheduling flights, reservations, cancellations, and staff management. It describes the existing manual system and proposed automated system. The proposed system would have modules for administrators to manage flights and schedules, front desk officers to manage reservations and food, and customers to view flights and make reservations. It concludes by discussing future enhancements like seat selection.

INTRODUCTION

An Airline Management System is managerial software which targets to

control all operations of an airline. Airlines provide transport services for their
passengers. They carry or hire aircraft for this purpose. All operations of an airline
company are controlled by their airline management system.

This system involves the scheduling of flights, air ticket reservations, flight
cancellations, customer support, and staff management. Daily flights updates can
also be retrieved by using the system.

Here are the top use cases of the Airline Management System:

 Search Flights: To search the flight schedule to find flights for a suitable
date and time.
 Create/Modify/View reservation: To reserve a ticket, cancel it, or view
details about the flight or ticket.
 Assign seats to passengers: To assign seats to passengers for a flight
instance with their reservation.
 Make payment for a reservation: To pay for the reservation.
 Update flight schedule: To make changes in the flight schedule, and to add
or remove any flight.
 Assign pilots and crew: To assign pilots and crews to flights.
Advantages

 Easy to book tickets.

 Provides every information about flight.
 24/7 customer support through chat and calls.
 Mobile Availability.
 Send automated tickets to the customer by mail.
 Easy Refund Policies.
 Available for both Domestic and International Airlines.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS

System analysis is the process of gathering and interpreting facts, diagnosing

problems and using the facts to improve the system. Analysis is a detailed study of
various operation performed by a system and their relationship within and outside
of the system. This involves gathering information and using structured tools for
analysis.

EXISTING SYSTEM

In the existing system if any person wants to travel somewhere by flight he should
take some basic steps to get ticket like he should go to airport to book the flight
ticket, he should speak with Airline help center regarding the availability of flights.
It is time consuming process.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

In order to eliminate the errors of the previous system, a superb application has
been developed due to which the user need not to waste his valuable time in
booking, the ticket and instead of server is built that takes care of every action
thereby reducing the size & effort of all users.

PROCESS DESIGN
Process design refers to the design of the important process in the system
ranging from the functional description of each task. To the entire system being
considered as a process, "Airline Management System" has been divided into
several modules. Each module is bound to have its own specific functions. Each
of these modules can described below:

We have Three main Modules in our system:

CONCLUSION

The Airline management system has been a way of minimizing the clerical work,
which is almost a routine and consumes the most precious time. This AIRLINE
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM has been an attempt to help the user to minimize his
workload along with minimizing the paper works and saving of time .The system
has been developed in a way to make it very user friendly. It provides an on-line
message and an error detection and error messages every time the user needs. As a
FUTURE ENHANCEMENT we have decided to further enhance with a seat
reservation available. It is to fulfill passengers request to sit where they prefer.
They are allowed to choose their seat whether near to window’s seat or in the
