Prerequisites Assessment:
The teacher gives a 10-item test about the Nature and Elements of Oral Communication
The teacher will give a supplementary material about the essential concept of the prerequisite lesson.
2. For Students with Fairly Sufficient Level on Prerequisite Content-knowledge and/or Skill(s):
The leaners will complete an incomplete concept map about the prerequisite lesson facilitated by the teacher.

Introduction:
The learners are expected to finish the lesson in 2 days or two (2) hours. The students may contact the teacher via email or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for online, through text messaging or
calls and through written feedback indicated in the module or learning material for printed or modular, and immediate feedbacking for F2F students.
The students are expected to gain the following skills from this topic/lesson:
1. Remembering – the different functions of communication.
2. Understanding – the subtle differences of each function.
3. Apply – this skill in grasping various messages from different people and understanding the real purpose of the message being received.
This lesson will prepare the students to amplify their communication skills by understanding the different functions of communication. The lesson will introduce learners the purpose(s) of every
speech, ascertains the verbal and nonverbal cues that each speaker uses to achieve a purpose. This will also identifies strategies used by different speakers to effectively convey his/her message.

Online: Reading an online article via Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) about the functions of communication
Flexible Learning Strategy #2: Video Analysis (leaners will identify the purpose of the speech)

Day 2:

Objectives: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. Critique a speech
Synthesis: The students will be able to draft and deliver a speech effectively with the appropriate function or purpose.
Synthesis Question: How do you effectively convey a message using the functions of communication?
RUA of a Student’s Learning: The learners understand the importance of the functions of communication to effectively convey a message to different individuals.
Post-lesson Remediation Activity: Consultation and additional supplementary materials for those learners who have difficulties of the topic.
