CONDUCT AND PROCESSING OF MINOR PROJECT REPORTS

BBA (G)/B.COM (H)

Objective

1. As part of academic curriculum, students of BBA (G) & B.COM (H) are to constructively engage
themselves in the preparation of minor project report in their semester II. The Minor Project - I is to be
carried out on a Topic related to their field of interest and concerned with their subject. During semester
II each and every student is required to submit a written report. The academic objectives of Minor
project report is to:

 Gain knowledge of contemporary business environment;

 Analyse how theoretical concepts taught are applied/not applied in real situations;
 Analyse best practices of a company/industry in different functional areas;

 Enhance analytical and application abilities of students; and

 Develop skills in report writing.

The objective of this Academic Exercise/Circular is to lay clear guidelines for conduct of Minor Project Report
and standardise the format of submission of the Project Report.

University Scheme for Minor Project Report

2. Prior to the beginning of the End Semester Examination of the Second Semester the subjects on which
each student shall be pursuing his / her Minor Project in relation to a business/Market/Organisation etc.
and the respective internal supervisors shall be finalized by the concerned Principal / Director of the
Institute wherein BBA/B.Com(H) Programme is being run. The project can be based on primary/
secondary data. After completion of the assigned Project a Project Report in respect of the same shall be
submitted to the concerned Director/Principal through respective project guides. The Minor Project shall
carry 100 marks i.e., marks equivalent to one course and it shall be pursued by every student under the
supervision of one internal supervisor to be appointed by the Principal / Director of the Institute from
among the Faculty Members handling the various BBA/B.Com(H) courses. It shall be evaluated jointly
by the Internal Supervisor and the External Examiner. The Internal Supervisor shall award marks out of
50 and the External Examiner shall award marks out of 50. The External Examiner shall be appointed by
the University.

Scope of Minor Project Report - I

3. It is partly responsibility of the student to prepare a report where he/she intends to develop his/her skills.
A Topic once fixed cannot be changed. It is necessary for each student to get the approval of Topic
by the respective Project Coordinator of the class. Each student is required to carry out the work
independently and submit the report individually.

ANY PREVIOUS WORK OR BORROWED REPORT WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED AND IN


ALL SUCH CASES OF REJECTION THE WORK IS TO BE REPEATED AFRESH.

Final Report

4. The Guidelines for methodology to be adopted for preparing minor project report are mentioned
below and all students are required to strictly adhere to these guidelines.

6. The Minor project Coordinators/ Faculty Guides and students allotted under each guide for BBA (G) /
B.COM (H) Semester-II students will be intimated at the start of the semester.

General Guidelines and Format of Minor Project Report

 Project should be approved from Project Supervisor before Final printing.

 Project should be Topic (Related to product or service/business/market/organisation)


specific and based on secondary data /primary data.

 It can be a Comparative Study.

 It should be company or firm specific.

 Total No of pages should be 50 approx.

 Paper Sheet should be A4 Size and printed on one side of the paper.

 Navy Blue Color with Golden emboss of Hard Bound for BBA(G) and Black colour

with Silver emboss for B.Com(H)

 Font style-Times New Roman

 Font Size(Text)-12

 Font Size (Main-Heading)-16

 Font Size (Sub-Heading)-14

 1.5 Spacing

 Alignment Title page (Centre), Heading (Centre) and sub heading (Left)

 Body of the text should be justified.

 Margin- At the binding edge(left side) not less than 3 and at the right, bottom and top
not less than 2
 Page Numbering should start from chapter 1.

 First Internal- First Chapter (hard or Soft Copy) Preferably hard copy and viva on the
same.

 Final Internal-Complete Project Hard Copy and Viva on the same.
