TC4054 series OSF
Optical Suite Frames
Double sided access
The TC4054 Optical Suite Frame (OSF) provides managed
standard fibre installation, reticulation, interconnection,
distribution, re-arrangement and maintenance activities at
a common point and allows for fibre testing and fault finding
activities. Normally positioned at the end of a suite.

The OSF is divided into an upper and lower half, each handling
five subracks, that allows for orderly future growth.

A major feature of the subracks is the minimum amount of

movement that occurs to patch cords, as the tray opens
and closes. This ensures a very high degree of protection for
working services. Also, the rear patch positions are located in
a protected area, because there is very little chance of them
being disturbed when front patch cords are being installed,
as the subracks tray only needs to be opened a very small
amount of time.

Maximum fibre capacity:

Optical fibre FOBOTs (patch panels) & accessories
Warren & Brown fibre subracks (patch panels) are the benchmark product in the telecoms industry. A total solution offering, including
custom made panels, allows for high density and reliable optical connectivity. 1RU, 2RU and even 3RU variations are available which
can terminate a large number of fibres. Splice and patch, patch only and splice only options are available in either a swing out or slide
tray design. Typically, all splice & patch subracks are supplied with all pigtails and thru connectors pre-installed and tested, as well as all
mounting hardware and ancillary equipment.

Swing out subracks

6006, 6008, 6010 Series Splice & Patch, Patch only or Splice only subracks are proven optical fibre management modules that provide an
efficient high density solution. These subracks can be suitably mounted into a HDODF, any 300mm deep rack and provide excellent optical
fibre cord protection and management; may be front, mid, rear mounted in 19” or 21” rack.

Slide out subracks

Slide out modules are used to house both splicing and patching facilities in an optical fibre termination rack. They may be front, mid or rear
mounted in a 19” or 21” rack. Provided is a flat patch panel at the front face, for a variety of options including SC, SC Duplex, LC, LC Duplex, LC
Quad, etc. connectors.

6008 & 6010 Series, MTP®/MPO

fibre distribution swing out subracks
The ideal solution for high density splice and patch applications
in Data Centre and Telecom Carrier network environments.
This solution increases the ODF capacity, by utilising small form
factor MTP®/MPO fibre connectors, instead of discrete LC or SC
connectors. Easily transition between bulk fibre cable in the meet
me room or fibre entrance facility and distribute MTP®/MPO cables
to the data hall. Provides up to 144 fibre (12 x 12 fibre MTP®/MPO
adaptors) or 72 fibre (6 x 12 fibre MTP®/MPO adaptors) splice and 60083221436081L shown
patch capacity in 2RU or 3RU subracks.

The function of these subracks is to provide a quick and reliable

means of connecting up to 12 x 12 fibre MTP® APC Elite male
connectors to an external or tie cable/s and to manage the
connecting MTP® fibre cords.

Suitable for installation in racks with:

• 19” equipment rails (or 21” with optional mounting brackets)
• Equipment rails fitted in rear or mid positions
• Minimum rack depth of 300mm
• Fibre patch cord management to the LHS in front of equipment

Ducting components
WBT’s optical fibre ducting raceway is a unique system for routing and protecting fibre optic cords between termination
equipment, patch panels and fibre optic splicing frames in telecommunications exchanges and data centres. Easily mounted
above equipment racks or below floors, it provides an easily accessible solution to any situation.

WBT YellowDuct ducting raceway is available in seven sizes. It is most important to select a size that allows for expansion and
future additions to the ducting system. All too often cable systems are underspecified in order to reduce installation costs. In this
world of the ever increasing need for the storage and processing of data it is a false economy to just specify for existing needs. It is
ultimately more cost effective to plan for the future and over specify when it comes to capacity. Cable exit points and take offs also
need to be taken into account as these components have different capacity ratings to the main ducting raceway.

WBT YellowDuct ducting

raceway can be mounted from
walls, ladder rack, unistrut, on
raised floor support brackets,
on floors, or to the top of
equipment racks of frames.
Select an appropriate mounting
method from the examples
shown otherwise you can
contact your WBT sales office
or distributor for additional
mounting options and custom
solutions.

WBT ducting raceway items, conform to the following Fibre cords can be simply
standards and requirements: routed via ramp off into or
out of the ducting.
• ISO 9001 Certified Quality Management System
by BSI
• Fire retardant plastic, Halogen Free, for 100, 220
and 300mm ducting the rating is UL94V-0, for 30
and 50mm ducting the rating is UL94V-1
• UL2024A standard
• EEU - ROHS requirements
• GR-63 Core Earthquake test compliance
Single or dual high-density
convoluted tube outlets.

Cords can easily pass through the ducting to the next

drop point or exit.

Cabling standards - structured cabling systems

As with any smart design and smooth operation of a cabling

network, planning is the key. The structured approached to cabling
involves designing cable runs and connections to facilitate easy
identification and troubleshooting of cable paths and to plan for
future upgrades and changes.

A structured cabling approach is generally defined by the leading

industry standards groups.

Industry cabling standards are designed to protect the end user.

They provide the building blocks of ensuring and maintaining
high levels of cabling performance. Worldwide cabling standards
generally think forward several years which ensures that future
needs for increase capacity can be designed into the network.

The Australian SCS standards mainly follow and refer the ISO / IEC International Cabling standards.

ISO/IEC 11801-1 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 1: General requirements
ISO/IEC 11801-2 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 2: Office premises
ISO/IEC 11801-3 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 3: Industrial premises
ISO/IEC 11801-4 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 4: Single-tenant homes
ISO/IEC 11801-5 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 5: Data centres
ISO/IEC 11801-6 Information Technology - Generic cabling for customer premises Part 6: Distributed building services

These standards can assist cabling network operators in ensuring their cabling network adheres to industry best practices.

Comparison of optical fibre cable types

The information contained in this section highlights the performance characteristics of the various cable types. These are
minimum industry standards, however most high quality products such as the WBT fibre optic and copper connectivity solutions
will exceed these minimum standards.
