BUSINESS PLAN CONTEXT

We have identified that Ms. Mary Joy C. Hermosa and May Lanie G. Francisco of
Seiklus Travel Agency, a tour firm, requires corporate travel services for individual and
business group excursions that require customized travel packages.

We have identified that the company is having trouble adopting a corporate travel
policy that meets the needs of both the company and its employees.

BUSINESS OBJECTIVES

• Provide a high standard of services ideal for individuals seeking pleasant, comfortable,
and memorable experiences in the hospitality and tourism industry.
• Provide the tourist market with the high-quality personnel that the sector requires.
• Create trips and memories that will please every consumer.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

"Seiklus Travel Agency" is a new limited firm in the tourism and service sector that
will organize long-term congresses for large and small businesses from across the Philippines.
These business meetings will be linked with ecological tours that include sports activities and
leisure to raise environmental awareness among businesswomen and businessmen. In the
islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, there will be three different programs. Customers
will stay in environmentally friendly hotels that incorporate sports, spirituality, and physical
activity, as advised by "Seiklus Travel Agency." These programs will be detailed in the
business strategy. Seiklus Travel Agency's main goal is to introduce the country to a fresh job
program experience. Clients participate in a charitable effort by using the agency's services.
Clients will obtain a certificate and will be able to display the company's emblem on their
website to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. We provide our clients with the
option to hold their own congresses, holiday, learn about the environment, and make their
organization more sustainable by traveling with us. Clients are also conducting charity because
half of the company's profit goes to its own charity effort. Because of its attractive atmosphere
and reputation as the country's business capital with a high-leveled industry, the company's
office will be in Makati, Philippines. Half of the revenues from "Seiklus Travel Agency" will
be used to fund a personal initiative. Direct marketing, mailings to all the main firms, articles
in online and business magazines in many countries, a website, newsletters, gifts with the
company's logo, a small movie on YouTube, a blog on Myspace about sustainability, and so
on are all part of the marketing plan. The founders are six businesswomen who will fund the
company with their own money (100,000 pesos) and will still require a loan of 500,000 pesos.
The business plan for the agency includes the strategies, marketing plan, risk analysis, financial
section, and all pertinent information and numbers.

MARKETING PLAN

a) Advertising - This shall be undertaken through trade and industry publications, which are
read by tourists, as well as the local newspapers. A constant look out will be made of any
special editions in the local newspapers, which may provide an opportunity for Seiklus Travel
Agency advertise their services and business name.

b) Personal Selling - Certainly, customer solicitation face-to-face will be a powerful form of

promotion mainly since its flexibility will enable the agency to match the customer's needs to
specific attributes of their services as well as giving concise details of what they have to offer.
As such, potential customers/clients will, to a certain degree, be skeptical towards the intended
service(s)and how they are able to benefit from them. In cases where the opportunity of
obtaining a large order exists it may be necessary for the top management to go out personally,
especially because the agency is still a relatively getting a new target market.

c) Direct Marketing - This will be used but only to a limited extent in the form of
telemarketing and informing potential customers and obtaining referrals where possible. The
agency may then arrange for appointment with the respective decision-maker, with the
intention being to lure them into utilizing of their services
d) Events - The management aims to promote itself through attending trade shows and
expositions. Not only will this increased awareness of the agency’s services and business name,
but also enable them to interact with potential clients who may decide to utilize their service.

e) Internet Marketing - The increasing growth of the Internet as an information source

provides an opportunity for Seiklus Travel Agency to exploit. Individuals and groups look at
obtaining the best deal possible on the internet. Often these individuals and groups seek out
information over the Internet due to its relatively low cost and ease of use helping to minimize
time wasting. However, this will require adequate planning to ensure that all information on
the website is accurate and up to date, ensuring we market a professional image. This will
mainly serve foreign tourists and other interested investors.

SWOT ANALYSIS

Strengths - The travel agency staff knows (or at least should) what they are selling and can
help the customer to make the right decisions for that trip. Agent is bringing value to the
customer.

Weaknesses - I see that many travel agents have a tough time justifying their own value to the
customer. Raise your head and be proud to enhance the customers trip by providing value,
products, and information. Having said that, you must make sure to provide those things,
otherwise you can close shop now. You must think of yourself as a consultant, NOT an agent.

Opportunities - Educate the customer, especially millennials and the younger generation since
very few of them know, on what a travel agent does and the benefits.

Threats - Terrorism and natural disasters. As a travel agent there is no way you can prohibit
those from happening and they might affect the general economy and willingness to travel.
What you can do is to enhance your service levels when bad things happen, i.e. when the ash
cloud hits again you do want to help your customer instead of just referring them to the airlines
website. Consider charging for your services and this is a great revenue stream at the same
time.
