5 - Day National Level FDP 2022
The A. V. Education Society, one of the oldest and pioneering educational societies in the erstwhile
Nizam’s State of Hyderabad was established in the year 1944 with an objective to extend educational
opportunities to backward sections of the region and a vision to Empower young minds through Pursuit
of Excellence.
A.V. College established in 1968 is spread over 7.33 acres of land with a built-up area of 11, 72,159
sq.mt. Started as a composite college offering plus two and UG courses in Arts, Sciences & Commerce
it gradually grew to occupy the status of a multidimensional institution through introduction of PG
courses , Multi-disciplinary and contemporary courses that help develop technical competence in
students, and their employability thus meeting the requirements of academia, industry, and society.
The College is conscious of its values and responsibility towards the country, community, and
environment in general and tries to inculcate the same among all its students. Social Commitment is in
the ethos of the College and its sponsoring society.
The college is accredited by the NAAC three times.
About ELT@I
The English Language Teachers’ Association of India was found on August 7, 1969 by the late
Padmashri S. Natarajan, a noted educationist. ELT@I has spread its roots and branches nationwide
into about sixty chapters, and still growing. It has been an Associate of IATEFL (UK) and an Affiliate
of TESOL (USA) for long and has established partnerships with several professional associations
worldwide. ELT@I conducts and supports conferences, seminars, and workshops at regional, national,
and international levels on areas relevant to English studies today. Their consultancy services include
support for teacher development activities, and discussions on current issues and needs relevant to the

About the Teaching Learning Centre
The Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) was established with the intention to bring together faculty and
other professionals to share expertise, explore innovations, and discuss the challenges of teaching and
learning across disciplines. The Centre is an expression of the constant efforts made by our faculty to
empower themselves with an understanding of how students can learn so as to effectively apply and

The Vision of the Department: “Creating Globizens through teaching English”. Personality Development & Communication Skills
English being the dominant language in all domains has become almost a necessity for students to At Workplace

About the FDP
Soft Skills like software are not directly visible; but their impact can be realized tangibly. Software
enhances the performance and productivity of a system. Soft skills enhance the personality and human

relations of an individual. This is one of the major reasons for the corporate sector, to lay emphasis on &
the acquisition of these skills by their personnel. Lack of these skill-set affect the confidence and Department of English
output of the learners. Hence teachers need to be conversant with these skills to upgrade their learners.
