Letter of Motivation

Being an engineering student in computer science I feel how amazing the recent advancements in
technology have dramatically altered systems and processes, bringing about a revolution in the way
we do business. In order to remain on our toes and remain competitive, we must be able to adapt to
the changing business landscape; as per my perspective, this can be achieved by leaders of the
future only if they have a blend of technology and business skills. Until now, my curiosity, paired
with my constant zeal to learn, has been the driving force behind my career development and has
steered me in the direction of analytics.

As an avid fan of technologies from an early age, it motivated me to pursue my undergraduate


degree in Computer Science as it equipped me with diverse skillsets in programming languages,
database management, and software development. In addition to this, it was the time when I got an
opportunity to volunteer for the business management club at our college in organizing an inter-
college event, where I closely worked with students from business backgrounds, making the event a
huge success, I realize how inclined I was towards business and the use of technology to help it
succeed. Always believing in a holistic approach to building the character of a leader, I gave equal
importance to sports as well, as it teaches you some crucial life skills of team management.
Furthermore, I realized how important good communication and problem-solving skills of a
person can help to work in a business environment. For I joined Amazon as a Customer Support
Associate handling international customers from North America. There also I realized how Amazon
uses large consumer behaviour data to direct customers to a particular material, working there I
learned how we can use consumer behaviour of international customers to help us improve our
business and make important decisions in time. After this I worked as a project coordinator for PURN
Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting education and health projects for the poor and
underprivileged in India, while working on several projects which include colossal data from all over
the nation, I realize how critical it is to structure data into clear and comprehensive road maps for
laying out a detailed plan aimed at helping people bridge the gap created by their adverse
conditions. Although my academic background helped me in the technological aspects, however,
using this knowledge in business aspects is still a challenge for me which can be filled by in-depth
knowledge of business analytics.

All of my experiences, whether academic or professional, have brought me closer to the field of
analytics for which I instantly got hooked on the program offered by the prestigious Dublin Business
School as my determination to secure a firm foothold in the business field made me zealous about
searching for a course that befitted my computer science background and also my career interest.
The course designed by the eminent faculty of your academy aims to bring forth the business skill in
the aspirants while concurrently advancing their technical education. Studying topics like Business
Strategy and Management, Business Intelligence and Visualisation, and Business Analyst Skills
provides me with a specialism in business analytics as well as an extensive knowledge of business
and information systems. The cutting-edge lab facilities of the institution add immeasurably to the
value of the program. It is also encouraging that the university hosts a fair population of
international students. This will provide a multicultural environment that is conducive to gaining
cultural insights. Assessing these factors, I concluded that the course offered by Dublin Business
School is seamlessly in line with my requirements.
I intend to use the knowledge and skills acquired at your illustrious institution in my role as a
Business Analyst at a reputed firm. I will strive to contribute to the changing business landscape in
every way possible, from understanding business conditions to assessing numerous data-driven
problems; from helping, companies make effective business decisions to analysing consumer data
and reducing potential risks.

Over the last couple of decades, data has increasingly extended its hand in defining the concept
of ‘success’ in businesses. The exponential growth of technology has radically revolutionized the
strategies of business, making the painstaking exploration of datasets an essential skill. To persevere
and thrive as a business analyst, it is essential to keep oneself sharp in the latest practices and
procedures of the market. It is the passion to attain a working understanding of analytics that makes
me opt for formal education through the MS in Business Analytics offered by the Dublin Business
School. I am confident that this course will help to refine and strengthen my prowess in offering
valuable business insights. I look forward to being a part of the incoming batch of graduate students
for Fall 2022.
