265 - Ban On Creation of New Post

The document summarizes an order issued by the Finance Department of the Tamil Nadu government regarding recruitment during the COVID-19 pandemic. It amends an earlier order that imposed a complete ban on new government posts. The amendment allows recruitment against existing entry-level vacant posts, including on compassionate grounds. For posts vacant over 3 years, approval from the Staff Committee is now required before filling them. This aims to enable smooth recruitment of frontline field staff needed for COVID-19 relief work while regulating expenditure on emoluments.
