PROJECT PROPOSAL ON READING INTERVENTION

S.Y. 2021-2022

I. Introduction
Reading is a core intelligence function that is crucial in developing many other
forms of intelligence. Hence, difficulty in reading is one of the common problems
in school. Helping to solve this focal problem is using reading interventions. This
would aid to make reading easy and enjoyable to each child.

II. Motivation
It is indeed quite simplistic but true: there just about three steps to encourage and
develop pupils the discipline and love for reading, to encourage pupil to read a lot,
they must be motivated to read. Finally, to be motivated to there are resources
and tools that need to be available.

III. Project Details


The following interventions are of great help to sustain the problem.
Drop Everything and Read
Big Brother, Big Sister
A Page A Day
Nanay Ko, Guro Ko

IV. Conclusion
Through the utilization of the mentioned interventions, within them the genuine
love for reading will be develop.

V. Reflection
Teaching is our main goal in entering this field of education. Imparting
knowledge to schoolchildren is our main responsibility. Exerting extra task to
those who are left behind especially in reading is fulfilling effort that is
immeasurable yet so worthy.

S.Y. 2021-2022
According to the authors of English Expressway Book, “Reading is
fundamental to function is today’s society, it is a vital skill in finding a good job
and is important because it develop one’s mind. “According to some authors. It
enriches the lives of children. But how can children achieve excellence if they
cannot read.
Based on the consolidated report result in reading test conducted this
year, there were non-readers in Grade one.
With teachers came up with the following intervention /
recommendation:
1. Provision of more books / reading materials.
2. Encourage parents to be part of the reading program
3. Give encouragement and motivation to pupils whose reading ability
improved.
4. Teacher must exert effort to assist slow readers
5. Have peer tutorial lessons.
With the help of parents from Grades One to Six these children were able to
identify and understand words.
Parents had sense of fulfillment with the work they did among these
learners. Parents of non-readers were also very happy with the result of the
remedial program because their children improved their reading level.
According to some volunteered parents the program had taught them to
be more patient in dealing with these children. They were also able to
appreciate the hard work of the teacher in teaching children how to read.
