Student’s Difficulties in Learning English

I. Introductory Paragraph: There are some difficulties in learning English faced by


students as a foreign language.
II. Body paragraph 1
A. Topic Sentence: First, pronouncing foreign language.
B. Support 1: The students confuse about how to pronounce English word.
1. Detail 1: There are some words that have same writing but different
pronunciation.
2. Detail 2: for example, the word tear in “tear the paper” and the word tear in
“Tear ran down her cheeks”.
C. Support 2: The pronunciation is different from the writing.
1. Detail 1: some words have different pronunciation from the writing
2. Detail 2: for example, the word mosque.

III. Body paragraph 2


A. Topic Sentence: Second, remembering vocabulary.
B. Support 1: Vocabulary so large.
1. Detail: there so many vocab.
2. Detail: and it made students difficult to remember.
C. Support 2: vocabulary is growing.
1. Detail: vocabulary always extend.
2. Detail: there are new vocab every day.

IV. Body paragraph 3


A. Topic Sentence: third, Speaking foreign language.
B. Support 1: Students didn’t use English in communicating.
1. Detail: it will so hard to using English in daily conversation with other students.
2. Detail: not every student fluent in English
C. Support 2: students are not confident to using English
1. Detail: Students are afraid to show their English skill.
2. Detail: Students are afraid to be judged.

V. Body paragraph 4
A. Topic Sentence: Poor memorization skills
B. Support 1: the student memorization affect the students’ understanding as well.
1. Detail: what students memorize also affect their understanding.
2. Detail: students have to increase their memory.
C. Support 2: the students have a memory disability.
1. Detail: being able to remember vocabulary properly will certainly have a good
effect.
2. Detail: students have to do well exercise.

VI. Conclusion (Restatement or Paraphrase): Students’ difficulties in learning English as a


foreign language including pronouncing as a foreign language, remember the
vocabulary, speaking a foreign language, and poor memorization skills.
