1. Cabin Interior Finish Cleaning — System Description
A. General
The following sections contain cleaning procedures for aircraft interior finishes, surface materials and
coverings. Read the entire procedure for each cleaning process before using any cleaning products.
If there are concerns regarding cleaning processes or products, contact the appropriate Appearance
Group representative for your aircraft or site.
(1) Hard Surfaces
The wood furnishings in the aircraft have been finished with a protective urethane. This finish
may become scratched and in need of minor repair. This section provides cleaning procedures,
instructions for minor repairs to wood surfaces and restoration of the urethane finish to its
original condition. Cleaning and repair instructions for wood and cleaning instructions for all
other types of hard surfaces and materials are as follows:

(2) Cabin Interior Coverings
The interior coverings provide a decorative finish to the aircraft flooring, LH and RH sidewall
decorative panels, PSUs and cabin headliners. The soft fabrics used on other items of
equipment, such as seats, divans and armrests are also included in this section.
NOTE: Every fabric is different. Cleaning materials that work on one type of fabric may not
work on another, even if the fabric content is the same. Always test cleaning products
in an inconspicuous location prior to cleaning for this reason.

AIRCRAFT WASHING: INTERNAL - CLEANING / PAINTING
1. Wood — Cleaning and Repair Procedures
A. General
Wood furnishings in the aircraft have been finished with a protective urethane. Minor scratches
should not require application of stain. Before carrying out any repairs, clean the surrounding area as
specified in Step 1.B(1). If staining is required, apply finish as specified in Step 1.C(1).
Major scratches that expose the wood may require the application of stain to match the surrounding
area. If necessary, repair as specified in Step 1.C(2) and Step 1.C(3).
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
repairing wood surfaces:
For cleaning wood surfaces:
• Meguiars No. 34
• Meguiars No. 7
• Mohawk Wax Wash
• Vinegar and water solution, 50 / 50%
For repairing wood surfaces:
• 15 mic sandpaper
• 3 mic sandpaper
• 3M 600 grit sandpaper
• 3M Buffing Compound
• 3M Finishing Glaze
• 3M hookit P1000
• 3M hookit P1200
• 3M hookit P800
• 3M Machine Glaze
• 9 mic sandpaper
• DCD35 polyurethane
• DFX11 hardener

B. Wood Cleaning and Polishing
CAUTION: POLISHES WITH A SILICONE BASE, SUCH AS PLEDGE ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR
THIS TYPE OF FINISH AND MAY CAUSE THE WOODWORK TO HAVE AN OILY
RESIDUE WHICH MAY PREVENT REPAIR OF WOODWORK.
(1) Clean wood surfaces as follows:
NOTE: The urethane finish on the surface of the wood on this aircraft is nonabsorbent.
Therefore, it must be cleaned before every third application of polish to prevent polish
buildup.
(a) Remove any polish buildup using a vinegar and water solution on a clean, soft cotton
cloth. Firmly wipe until polish is removed.
(b) Wipe surface until it is clean and dry using a soft, dry cotton cloth.
NOTE: If the polish is thick or old and the vinegar and water solution does not remove it,
use Mohawk Wax Wash to remove the polish and clean the surface.

(2) Polish satin finishes as follows:
(a) Apply Meguiars No. 7 to the surface with a clean, soft cotton cloth.
NOTE: Meguiars No. 34 can also be used to polish satin finishes, but works best on
high-gloss finishes.
(b) Let dry to a haze.
(c) Buff by hand with a clean, dry, soft cotton cloth.
(d) Repeat as necessary.
(3) Polish high-gloss finishes as follows:
(a) Apply Meguiars No. 34 to the surface with a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(b) Buff by hand with a clean, dry, soft cotton cloth.
(c) Repeat as necessary.
C. Wood Repair
NOTE: These procedures describe the steps to follow when it is necessary to apply stain to the
wood.
Do not use a dual action sander on the edges of any wood component. Sand all edges with
a sanding block.
(1) To touch up wood:
(a) Lightly sand area immediately surrounding scratch to prepare scratch for staining and
finishing.
(b) Apply wood stain as necessary to blend with surrounding area. Let stain dry for 4 hours
before applying finish.
(c) Prepare finish per manufacturer’s instructions.
(2) To sand wood:
(a) Attach 3M 600 grit sandpaper to sanding block and sand in a circular or figure eight
pattern, applying light pressure to work out the area that had been previously built-up with
finish.
(b) Follow initial sanding with 3M hookit P800, P1000, P1200 grit sandpaper to work out the
scratches of the previous grit of paper. Use the same counterclockwise or figure eight
pattern of sanding.
NOTE: Further sanding / smoothing may be accomplished by progressively using 15
mic, 9 mic and 3 mic sandpaper.
(c) For satin finish surfaces, after using the P1200 grit sandpaper, wipe the area using a soft
cloth with a coat of Imperial Hand Glaze or equivalent to match original satin finish.
(3) To finish wood:
(a) Apply stain to wood as necessary to match surrounding area.
(b) Prepare finish according to manufacturer’s directions. DX84 accelerator may be added to
either mixture to assist in the drying and buffing of the repair.
NOTE: Use either DCD35 polyurethane and DFX11 hardener or DU1000 polyurethane
and DU6 hardener for the finish.

(c) Using a small artist brush, apply a small amount of finish over scratched surface.
(d) Allow finish to dry for approximately 30 minutes.
(e) Reapply finish until area is level or slightly higher than surrounding surface.
(f) Allow 30 minutes drying time between coats of finish.
(g) Ensure finish buildup compensates for shrinkage (finish may shrink when dry).
(h) Allow all layers to dry for 24 hours if possible prior to sanding and buffing.
(i) Sand and buff newly finished area to match surrounding finish.
(j) Polish newly finished area to match surrounding area as specified in Step 1.B(2) or Step
1.B(3).
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
2. Granite — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining granite surfaces:
• Acetone (commercially available)
• Ammonia based cleaning product (commercially available)
• Baking soda (commercially available)
• Bleach, color safe (commercially available)
• Fullers Earth (commercially available)
• Granite Seal Lithofin #25072PSI
• Hydrogen peroxide (commercially available)
• Liquid detergent (commercially available)
• Meguiars No. 34
• New Life Cream Polish (used to restore shine)
• Stone poultice (commercially available)
• Tin oxide or oxalic acid polishing powder (commercially available)
B. Preventive Maintenance
WARNING: TO PREVENT INJURY OR DEATH, DO NOT MIX AMMONIA AND CHLORINE
BLEACH. DO NOT TAKE CHEMICALS SUCH AS REGULAR CHLORINE BLEACH
(CLOROX OR EQUIVALENT) ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT. NEVER USE FULL
STRENGTH BLEACH ON ANY CARPET OR FABRIC.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) For general daily cleaning, wipe the surface with a damp sponge, followed by buffing with a dry,
soft cotton cloth.
(2) Wipe spills away immediately.
(3) Regularly seal the stone surface with a specially formulated premium silicon impregnator such
as Granite Seal Lithofin #25072PSI.

C. Procedure
(1) For general cleaning:
(a) Scrub the surface with soapy water or a household cleaner and a stiff brush.
(b) Scrub difficult stains with a mixture of water, a color safe bleach and liquid detergent.
(c) Restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing it with a commercial polishing
powder and a damp cloth. For large areas, use a low-speed buffer pad.
(2) To clean acidic stains such as juice, wine or tea:
(a) Scrub the stain with a commercial poultice or a mixture of color safe bleach, ammonia
cleaner or hydrogen peroxide and Fullers Earth.
(b) Restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing it with a commercial polishing
powder and a damp cloth. For large areas, use a low-speed buffer pad.
(3) To clean soot stains:
(a) Scrub the stain with a commercial poultice or a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen
peroxide.
(b) Restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing it with a commercial polishing
powder and a damp cloth. For large areas, use a low-speed buffer pad.
(4) To clean oil or grease stains such as those caused by butter, mayonnaise and cosmetics:
(a) Scrub the stain with a commercial poultice or a mixture of Fullers Earth and acetone.
(b) Restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing it with a commercial polishing
powder and a damp cloth. For large areas, use a low-speed buffer pad.
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
3. Lexan — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining Lexan surfaces:
• Brillianize
• Pledge (use only to minimize scratches)
• Plexiglas cleaner
B. Procedure
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
TO PREVENT SCRATCHING OF LEXAN, DO NOT CLEAN USING A CIRCULAR
MOTION.
(1) Dampen a clean, lint free, soft cotton cloth with Plexiglas cleaner or Brillianize and gently clean
Lexan.
(2) To remove surface scratches on Lexan after cleaning, dampen a clean soft cloth with Pledge
and rub into scratches.

4. Vinyl Laminate — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining vinyl laminate surfaces:
• Ammonia based cleaning product (commercially available)
• Bleach, color safe (commercially available)
• Liquid detergent (commercially available)
• Meguiars No. 34
• New Life Cream Polish (used to restore shine)
• Oil free furniture spray (commercially available)
B. Preventive Maintenance
WARNING: TO PREVENT INJURY OR DEATH, DO NOT MIX AMMONIA AND CHLORINE
BLEACH. DO NOT TAKE CHEMICALS SUCH AS REGULAR CHLORINE BLEACH
(CLOROX OR EQUIVALENT) ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT. NEVER USE FULL
STRENGTH BLEACH ON ANY CARPET OR FABRIC.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) For general daily cleaning, wipe the surface with warm water and liquid detergent on a clean,
soft cotton cloth, followed by a clean water rinse and then dry using a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(2) Wipe spills away immediately.
(3) To prevent furniture spray buildup, clean the surface several times a year with an ammonia
based cleaning product and a soft cotton cloth.
C. Procedure
(1) For general cleaning:
(a) Wipe the surface with warm soapy water on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(b) After cleaning, wipe the surface with an oil free furniture spray on a clean, soft cotton
cloth.
(c) When necessary, restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing using a cloth
dampened with cream polish or Meguiars No. 34.
(2) To clean difficult stains:
(a) Rub the stain with color safe bleach on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(b) After cleaning, wipe the surface with an oil free furniture spray on a clean, soft cotton
cloth.
(c) When necessary, restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing using a cloth
dampened with cream polish or Meguiars No. 34.
(3) To prevent surface damage or fading:
(a) After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with warm water on a clean, soft cotton cloth.

(b) After rinsing, wipe the surface with an oil free furniture spray on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(c) When necessary, restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing using a cloth
dampened with cream polish or Meguiars No. 34.
NOTE: The major cause of damage to a decorative laminate surface is failure to rinse
after cleaning. Moisture reactivates even a small amount of cleaning solution left
on the surface. The result could be a permanently etched scar or faded spot.
Therefore, thoroughly rinse with clean water after each cleaning and dry using
clean, soft cotton cloths.
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
5. Plating — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Several items aboard the aircraft are plated, such as sink hardware, cupholders, gasper outlets,
reading light trim, latches, seat belt hardware, etc. Brass, copper, bronze, black pearl, silver, almond,
champagne and rose gold plated finishes, whether they are polished, satin, frosted or antique, have
a clearcoat applied to seal the alloy finish and retard tarnishing and oxidation. This clearcoat can be
accidentally chipped or scratched, therefore take care to avoid contact with hard or sharp objects.
The clearcoat can also be damaged by cleaning the fixture with an abrasive cleaner or with
ammoniated detergent or by coming in contact with installation glue. Environmental conditions in
certain regions can also affect the clearcoat. Therefore, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
recommends the following specific products for cleaning and maintaining these plated surfaces:
• Ammonia free liquid soap (commercially available)
• Gold Seal Glass Wax
NOTE: Dura-Brass, 24K, 18K, 14K, peach gold and smoked nickel finishes do not necessarily
require a clearcoat. However, they are soft metals and should be maintained according to
the instructions for the finishes that require a clearcoat.
Nickel finishes are very durable and do not require a clearcoat. However, oxidization can
occur in areas of continual moisture. Follow the same instructions for clearcoated finishes
and it will keep this finish protected.
Chrome finishes do not require a clearcoat. These finishes are extremely durable. While
following the same instruction for clearcoated finishes is recommended, these finishes are
not vulnerable to the tarnishing and oxidation effects that can occur on clearcoated finishes.
B. Preventive Maintenance
CAUTION: TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CLEARCOAT ON PLATED SURFACES, IT IS
RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CAREFULLY WIPE DOWN AND DRY ALL PLATED
SURFACES THAT MAY HAVE COME INTO CONTACT WITH ANY SORT OF
MOISTURE (SUCH AS WATER, JUICES, CARBONATED BEVERAGES AND
ALCOHOL). THIS INCLUDES PLATED SURFACES SUCH AS SINKS,
CUPHOLDERS, DRAINS, ETC.
TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Dry plated surfaces immediately. Do not allow water to dry on the surface.

(2) Wear cotton gloves when installing these parts to protect against glue, grease and oil from
fingerprints.
(3) Avoid the use of force when cleaning plated surfaces. All plated finishes are decorative and can
not be treated like industrial parts.
(4) To protect the clearcoat, occasionally apply a wax coating to the plated surface with a clean,
soft cotton cloth.
C. Procedure
(1) Wipe the surface with warm soapy water on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(2) After cleaning, wipe the surface with a clean, soft cotton cloth and clean water.
(3) After rinsing, gently buff the surface with a dry, clean, soft cotton cloth.
(4) If necessary, restore the cleaned area to a glossy finish by rubbing it with wax and a damp cloth.
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
6. Stainless Steel — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Some fixtures aboard the aircraft are made of stainless steel, such as the galley sink and ice drawer
linings. Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning
and maintaining stainless steel surfaces:
• Gold Seal Glass Wax
• Liquid soap, mild (commercially available)
B. Procedure
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Wipe the surface with warm soapy water on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
(2) After cleaning, wipe the surface with a clean, soft cotton cloth and clean water.
(3) After rinsing, buff the surface with a dry, clean, soft cotton cloth.
C. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
7. Leather — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining leather surfaces:
• Carpet Spotter
• Clean & Dri
• Finished Leather Cleaner
• Finished Leather Conditioner and Protector
• Ink Remover for Leather
• Leather Cleaner

• Leather Cleaning Kit, Spinneybeck (1-800-535-9009)
• Leather Restorer
• Liquid soap, mild (commercially available)

NOTE: When in doubt about a particular leather cleaning procedure or stain, contact the Leather
Institute (1-800-799-5099).
B. Preventive Maintenance
Use Leather Restorer periodically to keep leather soft and supple.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT. ALWAYS TEST THE
CLEANING PRODUCT IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT BEFORE USING ON LARGE
AREAS.
(1) If the spot is still in liquid form, attempt to blot excess from material before cleaning.
NOTE: Most spots on leather surfaces are easiest to clean when they are fresh.
(2) For water stains, apply Super-Dri or Clean & Dri to the dirt or water stain with a clean cotton
cloth.
(3) For oil stains:
(a) Apply Carpet Spotter to a clean cotton cloth.
(b) Gently rub the area around the spot, working towards the center.
NOTE: Carpet Spotter evaporates quickly, so you may need to repeat this process
several times to successfully remove oil stains.
(4) If stain remains after following these procedures, contact the Appearance Group representative.
C. Procedure
(1) To remove surface soil from leather with soap and water:
(a) Work soap and lukewarm water into a thin soapy solution.
(b) Wipe the surface with the soapy solution using a clean cloth.
(c) Rinse the solution from the leather surface using clean water and a clean cloth.
(d) Thoroughly dry the surface using a clean, soft dry cloth.
(e) Let leather dry completely.
(f) Apply Leather Restorer to the cleaned surface using a clean cloth.
(g) Rub surface to ensure Leather Restorer is thoroughly absorbed into leather.
(2) To remove surface soil from leather with commercial Leather Cleaner:
(a) Spray Leather Cleaner onto a clean cotton cloth.
(b) Gently rub dampened cloth over leather surface to be cleaned.
NOTE: For heavily soiled areas, use a soft bristle brush with the Leather Cleaner.
(c) Wipe off excess cleaner using a clean dry cloth.
(d) Let leather dry completely.
(e) Apply Leather Restorer to the cleaned surface using a clean cloth.

(f) Rub surface to ensure Leather Restorer is thoroughly absorbed into leather.
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.

8. Vinyl — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining vinyl surfaces:
• Bleach, color safe (commercially available)
• Carpet Spotter
• Clean & Dri
• Isopropyl alcohol (commercially available)
• Liquid soap, mild (commercially available)
• Oil free furniture polish (commercially available)
• Super-Dri
B. Preventive Maintenance
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT. ALWAYS TEST THE
CLEANING PRODUCT IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT BEFORE USING ON LARGE
AREAS.
(1) If the spot is still in liquid form, attempt to blot excess from material before cleaning.
NOTE: Most spots on vinyl surfaces are easiest to clean when they are fresh.
(2) For water stains, Apply Super-Dri or Clean & Dri to the dirt or water stain with a clean cotton
cloth.
(3) For oil stains:
(a) Apply Carpet Spotter to a clean cotton cloth.
(b) Gently rub the area around the spot, working towards the center.
NOTE: Carpet Spotter evaporates quickly, so you may need to repeat this process
several times to successfully remove oil stains.
(4) If stain remains after following these procedures, contact the Appearance Group representative.
C. Procedure
(1) To remove surface soil from vinyl with soap and water:
(a) Wipe vinyl surface with warm water and soap on a clean, soft cotton cloth.
NOTE: For heavily soiled areas, use a soft bristle brush with the warm soapy water.
(b) Thoroughly rinse vinyl with a clean, damp cotton cloth.
(c) Thoroughly dry the area using a clean, soft dry cloth.
(d) Apply a light coat of furniture polish to restore the luster of the vinyl surface.
(e) Let furniture polish soak in for 30 seconds and then buff lightly using a clean soft cloth.
(2) To remove difficult stains from vinyl:

(a) Dampen a soft cloth with a solution of 10% bleach / 90% water or 10% alcohol / 90%
water.
(b) Gently rub the stain with the dampened cloth.
(c) Thoroughly rinse the bleach or alcohol solution from the area using water and a clean soft
cloth.
(d) Thoroughly dry the area using a clean, soft dry cloth.
(e) Apply a light coat of furniture polish to restore the luster of the vinyl surface.
(f) Let furniture polish soak in for 30 seconds and then buff lightly using a clean soft cloth.
D. Follow On
(1) Inspect for presence of foreign objects.
(2) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
9. Aermat (Rubber) — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining Aermat (rubber) surfaces:
• Leather Cleaner
• Liquid soap, mild (commercially available)
B. Procedure
WARNING: TO AVOID POSSIBLE INJURY, EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN APPLYING
OILY PRODUCTS TO TREAD MATERIALS. WHEN APPLIED TO TREAD
MATERIALS, THESE PRODUCTS MAKE THE TREADS SLIPPERY.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE
NOT TO SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Wipe surface with warm water and soap using a clean, soft cotton cloth.
NOTE: For heavily soiled areas, use a soft bristle brush with the warm soapy water.
(2) Rinse soap residue from area using water and a clean cloth.
(3) Dry well using a clean dry cloth.
(4) Apply a light coat of Leather Cleaner to restore luster of Aermat surface.
(5) Buff lightly using a clean cloth.

10. Carpet — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
Vacuum the carpet on a regular basis with a beater-bar-type vacuum cleaner to remove loose fiber
and prevent matting. Refer to the manufacturer documentation for specific spot and stain treatments.

B. Preventive Maintenance

25.853, ALL COVERING MATERIALS HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH FIRE
RETARDANT. AGGRESSIVE CLEANING CAN REMOVE THIS FIRE RETARDANT
COMPROMISING THE FLAMMABILITY CHARACTERISTICS OF THESE
MATERIALS.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT INTERIOR, TAKE CARE NOT TO
SPILL CLEANING PRODUCTS IN AIRCRAFT.
WET CARPET MAY CAUSE SEVERE CORROSION TO AIRCRAFT FLOORING AND
STRUCTURE. REMOVE CARPET FOR THOROUGH CLEANING AND ALLOW TO
DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE INSTALLATION.
DO NOT SUN DRY OR HEAT DRY CARPET. CARPET FIBER CONTENT IS 100%
WOOL AND IS SUBJECT TO SHRINKAGE.
SHOULD CARPET REQUIRE DEEP CLEANING, CARPET MUST BE REMOVED
FROM AIRCRAFT AND CLEANED WITH COLD WATER OR TREATED WITH DRY
CLEANING SOLUTION. ALLOW CARPET TO DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE
INSTALLING IN AIRCRAFT.
(1) Vacuum around area being cleaned to remove loose soil.
(2) If spot is still in liquid form, attempt to blot excess from material before cleaning.
(3) If spot is dry, attempt to clean with water dampened cloth before using any cleaning products.
NOTE: Always use the simplest methods first.
C. Procedure
CAUTION: PRIOR TO CLEANING CARPET, TEST CARPET CLEANER IN AN INCONSPICUOUS
PLACE.
(1) To clean water based stains:
(a) If the spot is still in liquid form, attempt to blot excess from material before cleaning.
(b) Apply Super-Dri or Clean & Dri to the dirt or water based stain with a clean cotton cloth.
(2) For oil based stains:
(a) Apply Carpet Spotter to clean cotton cloth wrapped around forefinger.
(b) Gently agitate area around spot, working towards center.
NOTE: Carpet Spotter evaporates quickly, so this process may need to be repeated
several times to successfully remove oil based stains.

11. Fabric — Cleaning Procedures
A. General
The fabrics in the aircraft have been treated with Aero Services High-Tech Interior Protectant to
protect the fabrics from most spills and stains. Clean fabrics only with approved cleaners and
nonabrasive, clean, white, 100% cotton rag or paper toweling. Immediately remove all dirt and spills.
Do not allow spills to dry.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation recommends the following specific products for cleaning and
maintaining fabrics:
• High-Tech Solvent Spotter
• Paper toweling, nonabrasive, white
• Rag toweling, nonabrasive, white, 100% cotton
• Vacuum cleaner (without beater bar)
• Volatile Dry Spotter
B. Preventive Maintenance
CAUTION: DO NOT USE A BEATER BRUSH ATTACHMENT WHEN VACUUMING TO AVOID
DAMAGING FABRIC.
(1) Vacuum daily when the aircraft is in use.
(2) Vacuum weekly when the aircraft is not in use.
(3) Vacuum folds and creases carefully to remove dirt and dust in those areas.
(4) Blot spills immediately.
(5) Rips should be repaired promptly by a professional.
C. Procedure

CONSULTED. IF PRODUCTS ARE USED INCORRECTLY, IRREVERSIBLE FABRIC
DAMAGE MAY RESULT.
(1) To clean wet spills:
CAUTION: DO NOT WIPE OR RUB SPILL, AS THIS MAY DAMAGE FABRIC.
(a) Blot spill with a clean towel.
(b) Continue to blot with clean portion of towel until stain is no longer absorbed by towel.
(2) To clean dry soiled areas:
(a) Dampen soiled area with water.
(b) Allow water to set long enough to dissolve and release soil or stain from fabric.
CAUTION: DO NOT WIPE OR RUB SPILL, AS THIS MAY DAMAGE FABRIC.
(c) Blot spill with a clean towel.
(d) Continue to blot with clean portion of towel until stain is no longer absorbed by towel.
(3) After cleaning silk fabrics:
(a) Spray a light mist of water around the cleaned area or lightly wipe the area with a clean
towel from the outside to the inside to feather the cleaned area into the surrounding fabric.
(4) To clean stubborn spills:
NOTE: Volatile Dry Spotter will aid in the removal of most stains, including tar, oil and gum,
but will not remove stains caused by bleach, permanent dyes or similar stains. The
Aero Services High-Tech Interior Protectant will prevent most materials from staining if
the spill is immediately blotted.
(a) Clean first with water as described in Step 11.C(1), Step 11.C(2) or Step 11.C(3).
(b) Dampen clean towel with small amount of Volatile Dry Spotter.
CAUTION: DO NOT WIPE OR RUB SPILL, AS THIS MAY DAMAGE FABRIC.
(c) Blot spill with dampened towel.
(d) Continue to blot with clean portion of towel until stain is no longer absorbed by towel.
(e) Allow area to dry.
(f) If stain is still present, repeat Step 11.C(4)(b) and Step 11.C(4)(e).
(5) If stain remains after following these procedures, contact Appearance Group representative for
