What is the original route of this train? Judging by the name, it should traverse Bihar only. While Jhakhand
was part of Bihar once; I don't think Durg or Raipur ever was and neither was Asansol. Anyone know the
history of this train?

In an early ER time table there were two trains weekly North Bihar exp between Hwh & Samastipur and
South Bihar express between Tatanagar & Patna. Before year 2000 in erstwhile Bihar Singbhum area
belongs to Southern part of Bihar thats the reason for such nomenclature. In the picture of an 1986 SER
timetable I ve shown the details.
Another interesting part of Aggressive timing ofTata-Patna super (83 up/ 84 Dn) In almost 8hrs 30 mnts.
Which No train dare to maintain.

It was an overnight train between Danapur and Tata Nagar when Bihar was combined. later Jharkhand
came in existence. Train too got extended till Rourkela then Raigarh later Raipur and then till Durg. Train ka
naam abtak South Bihar Exp hi hai.

Danapur to Tata makes sense. I wonder if they extended it for political reasons. In either case, this is one of
the few trains whose name should be changed (unlike most other useles changes) since the current one is
confusing.

Patna se Odhisha aur Chhatisgarh ki connectivity poor thi.

It isn't a Bihar only train anymore. It traverses three states(technically four, since Asansol is as well). Better
to name Durg Patna or something generic like that.

aap South Bihar Exp naam badwalwana chahte hain..

Do you know there's a train name Vananchal Exp between BGP & RNC .. isn't it confusing as there's nothing
like Vananchal even exist. Still people never demanded for name change.

South Bihar aur Vananchal jaisi trains emotion hain is area ke liye. Koi naam nahin badlwayega iska

I don't have the authority to change the name :p. I was merely giving my opinion that the name is
geographically outdated and should be updated to better reflect the current situation. IR regularly changes
names for the worse, usually for political reasons. Surely, this isn't the worst instance.

Tata mfp ko to Gorakhpur Extend kiya tha 1994 me.baad me saayad Tata se bhi aage kahi extend kar diya
hoga.
Patna Jhasurguda ka bhi pata nhi.
Aur afterall ye sab pata hoga bhi kaise,1994 ka baat hai ye sab,aur ham khud 1998 me aaye hai.
Koi 90s ka railfan hi bata sakta hai.

It was originally Danapur Tata express; both part of Bihar then. Now Jharkhand is a separate state, plus it is
extended to Durg as well. Add in Asansol, and it spends majority of time outside the state of Bihar. The
original name of meant to imply that it covered the state of Bihar (southern) which is not relevant now.

My logic has a point. Just because Railway keeps extending trains for useless reasons which ends up
obliterating the original meaning of the train doesn't reduce my point's validity. In either case, I only stated
my point of view and everyone is entitled to theirs.

1980s me North Bihar me bas Mfp spj bju kolkata route hi borad gauge tha.baaki Darbhanga motihari
Narkatiaganj raxaul etc sab meter gauge tha.
Even 2012 me bhi dbg Narkatiaganj raxaul Forbesganj Jogbani sab meter gauge hi tha.

boarding & deboarding dono hota hai usme..Time table bhi waisa hi hai..barbaad ho jayegi jab iska time
table mein drastic change aayega..like kal ko koi politician Purnea ko khush rakhne ke liye isko day train se
night bana de..fir galat hoga..dono end se day train hi rehna chahiye yeh..ussi mein speedup hona chahiye.

Haa traffic kam tha aaj ke time se, but halts bhi kaafi kam thay..aaj bhar bhar ke halts hai 8183/4 ke..MPS
toh almost same hi hai..aggressive train hua karti thi..Aise hi name Super Express nahi aaya..jaise Rajesh
jaise kids ke liye aaj speed matlab SK hai, waise hi 80s walo ke Super Express, Toofan Express hua karti thi.

Yes correct..MFP se past mein trains extend hone ka ye bahut bada reason hai..pehle udhar MG line
tha..Vaishali Express (then Jayanti Janta) bhi Patna hoke jati thi due to same reason.

9 saal jb train saharsa se aati thi toh ghanto late rehti thi patna stn pe, 11.40 departure time tha aur train
daily dopahar mein do dhaai baje k karib nikalti thi pnbe se
Hm khud kitna baar 8 baje raat mein bokaro pohonche hain
So superhit yes, but punctuality etc toh khatm ho hi gyi thi is train ki kai saalon tk

Alco ke sath wo TT follow karti thi.. i remember ASN-PNBE route electrification ke baad bhi 2011/12 tak TATA
DNR ko ASN-DNR me Alco hi link tha..

Pahle ka late hone ka reason tha ki old tt pe saharsa se purnea extend hui. Aur phir return me late ho jati
thi.
Uske bad 8626 ka tt change hua patna to prnc.
08625 ka bhi prnc to pnbe.
Phir thik hua.
Same vaishali bhi pahle late hua karti thi kai mahine tak.
But ab nahi hoti hai.
Ise ek rake mil gaya aur 15279 se RSA.
shuru me jab extand hua to Sabse jyada loss rajyarani ko hua.
1 yr tak slow TT par chalne lagi thi.
Ab dono ka time adjust karke achchha kiya gaya hai.

Jab 2012 me rajyarani chali thi to koi socha bhi nahi tha ki 4 hrs me saharsa se patna pahunch jayenge.
Jabki Kosi aur intercity abhi bhi 6/7 hrs le rahi hai. Isliye 5713, 5281 ke maximum. Passenger isme shift ho
gaye
Abhi bhi KGG PNBE Route me koi train itna fast nahi hai.
Same aisa hi super ka raha hoga.

Haa..ek aur reason 15282/18698 (then Kosi Exp) ke delay ka tha 12423 ka crossing..jab 12423 via MKA aati thi

15281/18697 reschedule ho jati thi.

After rourekela the link part 3287A/3288A was extended to bilaspur. Then the link was cancelled and the
whole rake started coming to bilaspur. After some time the train was extended to durg on one end and
short terminated to rjpb from Danapur earlier.
It never terminated at raigarh or raipur

To Aisa karo, agar rail Ministry mein sources hai to name yahi rakho aur train ko wapas tata mein short
terminate karwa do....

Bilkul waisa hi Super ka tha jaisa aapke liye aaj Rajyarani hai between KGG-PNBE..Below 3 hours mein cover
kar leti hai KGG-PNBE..waise hi Super 9 hours se kam mein cover leti thi.
Generally agressive time table wali trains long time tak apna status maintain nahi rakh paati hai..reason
hota hai extra halts add hona ya train ka extension ho jana..joki mostly politicians ki wajah se hota hai.

Haa..WL kuch jyada hi hai..waise Intercity trains mein ek din pehle hi booking hota hai..ab toh 2S mein bhi
reservation hai toh current booking bhi khub hota hoga last 15 mins (before departure) tak..2S reservation
ki wajah se kuch Intercity trains khali bhi reh jati hogi..But KGG ke liye 02567,05713 mein 2S reservation sahi
hi hai..Covid se pehle inn trains ka GS coach pehle se hi bhara hua aata tha (mai khud 05713 mein latak ke
aaya hu KGG-PNBE)..But ab 2S reservation ki wajah se KGG, BGS ko equal opportunity milta hai booking ka
like KIR & SHC..but ye chiz har Intercity trains ke liye thik nahi hai.
