PREFACE

The importance of professional training and development has become


increasingly recognized and emphasized by many organizations and
institutions throughout the world.

Training and development is considered by some organizations as an


investment and not an expense, because of its rewarding influences.
Training and development as an organization is investment in its own
cadre enables the organizations to surpass their competitors.
However, when trainiQJ DQG GHYHORSPHQW SURJUDPV GRQ¶t follow the
accepted scientific principles and can not be accredited, it becomes
unnecessary burden and a source of distraction.
The aim of this practical textbook is to provide trainers of the trainers and
medical professors all the necessary materials to coQGXFW ³Training of
Trainers (TOT)´ FRXUVH. The book serves as a compendium and a useful
textbook for professional trainers, medical professors, and training experts
working in the field of professional training.
The comprehensive course described in this textbook provides all the
general principles of training and development. The knowledge and skills
acquired during the course will help the participants to conduct successful
training courses.
The textbook and the course it describes is expected to be of great interest
to trainers and medial professors who want to learn more about the
principles of training and development, and how to apply knowledge and
effective training skills when conducting a training course. The textbook is
also expected to be of interest to training experts working with healthcare
and medical organizations.

COURSE INFORMATION AND DESCRIPTION
COURSE TITLE: An advanced Training of Trainers (TOT) course.
Course duration: Four weeks (five days each week).
Course venue: Accreditation: The course was accredited by National
Training and Development Center of the Iraqi Ministry of Health because it
was accredited in Iraq Headquarter of Copernicus Scientists International
Panel in 2017 (The headquarter was closed during October, 2020).
Course language: English.
Course category: This is a development course which is considered as an
advanced course that aims at introducing all the essential principals of
training and development.
Course type: Interactive with periods of discussions and commentaries after
each topic or module.
Participants: Professionals whose job description include lecturing,
instruction, and / or training and are willing to conduct training courses. This
course is expected to be of interest to training experts working with
healthcare and medical organizations.
Trainer: Professor Aamir Jalal Al-Mosawi, advisor doctor, and expert
professional trainer.
Aims The main goal of this course is to provide the participants all the
general principles and all the essentials of training and development. The
knowledge and skills acquired during the course enable the achievement of
the main learning objective which is the ability to conduct successful
training courses.
Training/learning methods: Training session s worksheets will be used in
association with the other training activities such as mini-lectures and
presentations, activities, and case studies, and video reports.
Final scores: 30% on daily attendance, participation, and making
presentation. Written test accounts for 70% of the final score.
