03.08.2022 - Topography Report - MMLP BNG

The document provides a report on the topographic survey conducted for a feasibility study to develop a multimodal logistics park and external trunk connectivity infrastructure in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The scope of work included carrying out topographic surveys of the land and surrounding areas using tools like total stations, RTK, and leveling instruments. Methodologies used were control surveys, detailed surveys, road and rail corridor surveys, drawing preparation, and establishing benchmark and boundary pillars. Surveys were conducted between August 2021. Key outputs included contour maps at 0.5m intervals, coordinates of features, and establishment of control points and benchmarks.

Report on Topographic survey for Feasibility study for

development of Multimodal Logistics Park and External

trunk connectivity infrastructure to the Multimodal
Logistics Park in Bengaluru

AUGUST– 2021

Survey Consultants:-
Report on Topographic survey for Feasibility study for development of Multimodal Logistics Park and External trunk connectivity
infrastructure to the Multimodal Logistics park in Bengaluru

1.0 INTRODUCTION
 Topographic survey for Feasibility study for development of Multimodal
Logistics Park and External trunk connectivity infrastructure to the
Multimodal Logistics park in Bengaluru was carried out as per the Work Order
No.: VSPL/IPD/1819-020/120 Dated 18/06/2021 of VOYANTS Solutions
Private Limited, #403 4th Floor, Park Centra Sector 30 NH-8, Gurugram-122
001.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK:
 Carrying out Topographical survey of land with the help of Total Station, RTK
& levelling instruments. The scope of survey includes taking details of all the
existing visible features like roads, streams, temples, plantation, electric poles,
well, pump house, grave, bore wells, pond, buildings etc.
 Geo reference and digitization of Village maps.
 The survey drawing will contain contours at 0.5m interval and grid levels at
every 20m interval.
 2.89km of NH-648 for road corridor of 100m.
 5.61km of proposed rail alignment for a rail corridor of 100m.
 All the invert accessible levels of open drains and nallah.
 Fixing of BM pillars & Boundary pillars at site.

3.0 LOCATION
The site for the proposed MMLP is located near Muddalinganahalli railway
station in Bengaluru rural district of Karnataka.
4.0 METHODOLOGY

1. Control Survey
2. Detailed Survey
3. Road Corridor Survey
4. Rail Corridor Survey
5. Drawing preparation
6. BM Pillars and Boundary Pillars

1.Control Survey
a) GPS Survey
Initially a pair of ground control points are established at
every 2 kms. And these points are observed by DGPS, post
processed in Sokkia's software "Magnet tools" and obtained
the X, Y co-ordinates in UTM projection system.

While processing the data, the following

parameters were used: - Time Zone:
(UTC+05:30) New Delhi, Zone: 43P (North)
Datum: WGS-84, Geoid: EGM96. Coordinates type: Ground, Unit: Meters.

infrastructure to the Multimodal Logistics park in Bengaluru

b) Horizontal Control Survey

By measuring a set of Horizontal angles in different
quadrants between two straights, by measuring reciprocal
horizontal distance between two points, through
establishing the Traverse station at about 200 m. interval an
“Open Traverse” line is carried out from a fixed DGPS
stations and closed on next fixed DGPS stations. Its co-
ordinates (X, Y) are calculated and the mis-closure in
Easting, Northing distributed to maintain its required
accuracy. Depending upon its terrain, atmospheric
conditions, vibration due to traffic the traverse accuracy is
maintained nearer to1: 20,000. All Traverse points are
connected with Double Tertiary Level line to provide
relative heights.

Ref: TBM37 - E: 751290.476 N: 1466688.591 (PMC BM)

c) Vertical control Survey

Vertical traverse survey is carried out by digital level.

The reference level is carried from TBM37 (RL: 913.483) which is marked on
top of the pillar near chainage stone 8+750.

The level is transferred on all horizontal control points and BM pillars

established at site. In addition to that, TBMs are established on existing
permanent features.

The closing error has been checked to ensure that they are under permissible
limits and the same has been equally distributed as per survey of India
standards

2. Detailed Survey

After completing the horizontal and vertical control points establishment,

based on these values detailed survey by total station is conducted to capture
all the existing features like all roads with levels along the roads, streams,
temples, plantation, electric poles, well, pump house, grave, bore wells, pond,
buildings, etc have been picked up along with the survey including taking
levels at 20m X 20m random grid.

infrastructure to the Multimodal Logistics park in Bengaluru

3. Drawing preparation

Surveyed data is download to computer and drawing is prepared using

Autocad Software including digitization of all features captured and
generation of 0.5m interval contours.

4. BM Pillars and Boundary Pillars

1. Established 29 RCC BM Pillars of size 15CM X 15CM X 45CM at site at the

locations shown by the client including transferring of XYZ co-ordinates on it.

2. Fixed 50 RCC Boundary pillars of size 15CM X 15CM X 45CM at site along the
boundary of property as shown by the client.

5.0 AREA STATEMENT

Area surveyed with in the boundary is calculated by co-ordinate method and

the area arrived is 650 Acre
Rail corridor = 5.616 Km
Road Corridor = 2.897Km
