ZEUS
Zeus & Cronus
Zeus was the 6th child of Cronus who wasn't eaten by his father like the first five children were because, Rhea, his mother saved him. Later on, Zeus poisoned Cronus. Prometheus & the Theft of Fire Prometheus was the smartest of the Titans. Zeus took fire back from mortals but Prometheus defied him and gave it back and was cursed by Zeus. He was stuck in an eternal and painful loop of life and death. HERA Zeus & Hera Zeus was in love with his sister, and in order to gain her love, he transformed himself into a cuckoo and flew outside her window and raped her as soon as he got an opportunity. Hera, ashamed of being exploited, agreed to marry Zeus Hera & Heracles Hercules or Heracles was Hera's stepchild and nemesis. She tried to kill him when he was an infant but he survived due to his extraordinary strength. Hera drove him to insanity in adulthood which resulted in him murdering his entire family. ATHENA Birth of Athena Zeus heard a prophecy that his wife Metis would bear children who would to overthrow him. To prevent this, Zeus tricked Metis by making her turn into a fly and swallowing her. After a few months, Zeus developed a headache and when his head was cut open with an axe, Athena emerged from Zeus’ skull, fully grown and dressed for battle. Arachne & Athena Arachne was a talented weaver who challenged Athena to a weaving contest. Athena went on to weave a beautiful tapestry which showed the Gods respectfully. Whereas, Arachne did the exact opposite. Furious, Athena transformed her into the first spider. ARTEMIS Artemis & Callisto Callisto was a companion to Artemis and thus vowed to remain a virgin. Zeus, on the other hand, longed her for her beauty which resulted in him raping her. She became pregnant eventually which enraged Artemis and resulted in her being expelled from the group. Artemis & Acateon Acateon was Artemis's hunting companion. One day, while she was bathing, he saw her naked and tried to force himself on her. She was furious and turned him into a stag. Unaware of who the stag was, Acateon's hounds chased a him and then went on to kill him. DEMETER Demeter & Persephone Persephone was the favourite daughter of Demeter. When Hades kidnapped her, married her, and confined her to the underworld, Demeter grew furious. She threatened to make the people starve. Thus, Zeus made her a comprise. Half year, Persephone would spend time with her mother making it spring. Whereas, Persephone would spend time with Hades in the underworld making it winter. Demeter & Poseidon Poseidon tried to pursue Demeter who rejected him and hid herself by turning into a mare and joined a herd of horses to disappear in the mix. Realizing this, Poseidon tricked Demeter by transforming himself into stallion and joining the herd. He then forced her to mate with him which made Demeter furious due to the assault. She retreated into a cave to purify herself. Her absence caused the death of crops and of livestock which lead to a universal famine. APHRODITE Aphrodite & Hermes When Aphrodite rejected him, Hermes became greatly disheartened. Looking at Hermes's condition, Zeus decided to help. When Aphrodite was bathing in a river, Zeus sent an eagle to lift her sandal and hand it over to Hermes. When Aphrodite finally came seeking for her sandal, Hermes seduced her in exchange for returning the sandal and obtained his desire with her. Seduction of Anchises Zeus was annoyed with Aphrodite for causing the Gods to fall in love with mortals. Thus, he sent Eros to make her fall in love with a mortal. Aphrodite, a young shepherd belonging to the royal family of Troy, struck by Eros’s arrow and fell in love with him. Aphrodite approached Anchises while he was alone in his hut. She lied and convinced him of being Phrygian princess, thus seducing him into making love with her. When Aphrodite revealed her true form, Anchises was terrified but the Goddess consoled him. APOLLO Birth of Apollo When Hera, Zeus' wife, learned that Zeus had impregnated Leto, she cursed her with the inability to give birth to her child on stable ground. Zeus drew Delos from the sea so that Leto could have a place to give birth. The birth of Apollo was perilous since Hera had abducted Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth. When Apollo was born, everything transformed to gold. Since Leto was unable to feed the infant, she gave him an immortality drink : ambrosia. On the first taste, Apollo suddenly transformed into a man. Apollo in the Trojan War During the Trojan War, Apollo supported Troy since Agamemnon, King of Mycenae, had kidnapped Chryseis, the daughter of Apollo's priest Chryses, and declined to return her. When the priest prayed to Apollo to punish the Greeks, Apollo agreed. King Agamemnon had no choice but to return Chryseis to Apollo in order to avoid the god's wrath. In another case, Apollo favored the Trojan hero Hector and, after Achilles defeated Hector in a duel, Apollo caused Achilles' death by directing Paris, the prince of Troy, to shoot an arrow through his heel. POSE DON Athena Vs Poseidon Athena and Poseidon competed for the title of principal god of Athens. Athena and Poseidon were to give the Athenians one present each, and the favorite would be declared the winner. Poseidon pounded the earth with his trident, and a saline spring arose. While Athena offered the Athenians an olive tree. Since the tree provided them with timber, oil, and fruit, the Athenians preferred it over saline water of the spring. Enraged after losing the race, Poseidon sent a monstrous flood to punish the Athenians. Poseidon & Medusa Medusa was a stunningly gorgeous priestess of the Goddess Athena. The woman had to be a virgin to be a priestess to Athena. Poseidon had a strong love for Medusa and despite escaping to the Temple, Athena was discovered by Poseidon, and raped. As a punishment for losing her virginity, Athena turned Medusa into something so terrifying that the sight of her would turn onlookers to stone. Medusa was now a beast. ARES Ares & Eos Ares fell in love with Eos, the Greek goddess of the sunrise who later seduced him. Following that, Eos and Ares had a love affair. Ares was wary of Aphrodite finding out about the affair. As a result, the two lovers will seek refuge in the jungle. Meanwhile, Aphrodite was concerned about Ares's whereabouts. She went to Athena to inquire about Ares. Athena instructed her pet owl to find Ares for her, and Aphrodite to accompany the owl. As a result, Aphrodite discovered Ares and Eos together. Aphrodite cursed Eos with insatiable sexual lust and the ability to be perpetually in love out of revenge. Thus, Eos kidnapped a host of attractive young men. Ares & Hercules Hercules was challenged to a boxing match by Cycnus. He swung his spear at Hercules' shield, but it didn't penetrate it. Then Hercules pierced Cycnus' throat with, killing him. As Ares learned of his son's death, he became furious and stabbed Hercules. Athena, turned his spear down. Ares then drew his sword and went in for the kill on Hercules. However, the demigod saw an opportunity and plunged his spear through Ares' thigh. HEPHAESTUS Hephaestus, Thetis, Achilles Thetis was the mother of the greatest known Greek warrior Achilles. During the Trojan War, Achilles' armor was taken by Hector. Thetis had tended to Hephaestus as a child when he had fallen from Olympus. Concerned for her son, she asked the God of blacksmiths himself to create a set of armor to defend her son. Hephaestus dedicates himself to forging magnificent armor. Achilles is thankful for the armor and uses it to defeat the greatest fighter of Troy, Hector. Hephaestus & Aphrodite The long marriage of Hephaestus and Aphrodite was tumultuous and troublesome. Once while Aphrodite was having a secret affair with the God of war Ares, Hephaestus found out and decided to take revenge. He designed a net so thin that it was barely visible and yet highly resistant and laid it on the bed . Ares visited Aphrodite again and when both the lovers were getting intimate, they found themselves trapped in Hephaestus’ net. At this moment Hephaestus appeared along with all the Gods of Olympus and they laughed together at this humiliating moment for the couple. DIONYSUS Zeus & Persephone Zeus seduced Persephone in a cave which resulted in the birth of Dionysus. The child was a favourite of his father. With Hera’s assistance, Dionysus was torn apart and eaten by Titan. However, Athena managed to save the child’s heart and gave it to Zeus. He then put the surviving heart into a potion and gave it to one of his mortal lovers, Semele. Finally Dionysus was born from Semele as the reincarnation Tyrrhenian Pirates Dionysus was once captured by pirates who had promised him a ride to Naxos. The pirates tied him to the deck and were planning to violate him and sell him off as a slave. An enraged Dionysus filled the ship with spreading vines and beasts. With lions and panthers attacking the ship, the frantic pirates jumped from the ship and were transformed into dolphins once they landed in the waters. HERMES Zeus & Maia Nymphs were the virgin attendants of Artemis. This attracted the attention of many male Gods and Maia being the most beautiful of the Pleiades was lusted after by Zeus. An intrigued Zeus came after her while his wife Hera slept, and raped Maia. As a result Hermes was born, a child that Maia delivered after the passing of 10 moon cycles in the same cave. Slayer of Argus Argus Panoptes, the servant of Hera, was a hundred- eyed giant whose task was to guard the white heifer Io from Zeus. Io was a mortal and priestess of the Goddess Hera in the city of Argos. She was noticed and pursued by Zeus who fell in love with her. Hera came to know of the affair and as she tried to catch the lovers, Zeus transformed Io into a white cow. Hera wasn't deceived and demanded Zeus to give her the cow as a present. Hera then tied the cow to an Olive tree and sent Argus to watch Io and keep her away from Zeus. Depressed Zeus turned to Hermes for help who disguised himself as a shepherd. He then lulled the fearsome giant to sleep with his song and music and then proceeded to kill him. Zeus was then able to free Io.
