CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

LESSON 1.
Establish the Context and Purpose of the Assessment:
- The Assessor must familiarize SELF with the qualification or unit of competencies
- Ensure that the assessment site complies with the relevant occupational health and safety requirements
- Ensure that the assessment resources are available
- The Assessor must ensure the Tools, Equipment and Facilities are ready and available in the assessment site before
the assessment start
- A checklist of tools, equipment and facilities must be on hand to help the Assessor
- The Checklist of Tools, Equipment and Facilities is included in the assessors guide.

LESSON 2:
Plan and Prepare the Evidence Gathering Process
- The assessor shall receive assessment package composed of the ff:
o 1 copy of assessors guide
o Specific instruction to the candidate
o CARS – Competency Assessment Result Summary
o Written report
o Written test
o Answer sheets
o Rating Sheets

 Welcome to __________ our venue for the conduct of national assessment
 My name is _________, I am a TESDA accredited assessor in Qualification of Shielded Metal Arc Welding NCIII
 (show) here’s my IDENTIFICATION CARD as a proof of my accreditation and (show) LETTER OF APPOINTMENT from
the Assessment Center.


 YOU don’t have to worry about their presence. They are here to oversee and observe the Conduct Competency
Assessment and Procedure. They will not assess you.

 Before I will start, may I ask the attendance sheet. Please present to me your admission slip once your name is

 I have here with me your ACCOMPLISH SELF ASSESSMENT GUIDE (SAG)
 This is a proof that you know and can perform that all of the unit of competencies under the SMAW NCII
 Today , I am going to administer the full qualification of SMAW NCIII

 This Qualification consist of only 1 Core Competency which is Weld Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes Using SMAW
 This unit/units are clustered from one assessment package for full qualification.

 The PURPOSE of National Assessment aims to determine the level of your competency and for the issuance of
National Certificate Level III issued by the TESDA and will serve as a License for employment with a Validity of 5
years.

 I am going to use Demonstration and Oral Questioning to Assess you Underpinning Knowledgeand Underpinning
Skills
 There will be two assessment result – named COMPETENT & NOT YET COMPETENT.
o IF found to be COMPETENT, you can get your NC after 5 working days at the TESDA Office. Just bring with
you your Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS), your passport size picture with collar and white
background and P50 for processing fee
o IF you found to be NOT YET COMPETENT, you are qualified for re-assessment. Just go to the nearest
assessment center and schedule your reassessment anytime.
o IF you are not satisfied with the assessment result, you may write a letter of appeal addressed to the TESDA
Provincial Director

 For the allowable adjustment, we have CR at the end of the hallway, the Cafeteria is located at the ground floor of
the building.

 For DO’S & DON’T’S, Only I as the ASSESSOR, The ACAC MANAGER and the TESDA REPRESENTATIVE are allowed
inside the Assessment Venue to ensure the confidentiality of the assessment process and result.

 Please observe PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES in handling tools
