LOST IN ROME
When Jane woke up on the very first day of her holidays,
she had no idea what a tough day she was going to go
through. She was having the opportunity of spending the day
in Rome with her family and she couldn´t wait to see and
enjoy the sights.
They set off early to meet their tour guide at the Colosseum.
As they were walking round the huge amphitheatre, they
were having a fantastic time while the guide was describing
ancient Rome: the culture and Romans´ way of life. Jane
found it really interesting and was eager to know and learn
more.
Then, to her horror, she found herself in an enormous crowd
of people and lost sight of her family. “They can´t be far”,
Jane told herself, trying to keep calm and breathing slowly.
She walked on, but they she couldn´t find them! By now, she
was starting to panic. But, out of the blue, an idea came to
her mind. She took the phone, googled an image of the
place and realised where she was standing.
Then, as if from nowhere, she bumped into her sister. She
breathed a sigh of relief and hugged her feeling that she
had stepped out of that nightmare. Thank goodness all
ended well. That day will be kept in her mind forever!
Task 2 – Write a story in the past (12-14 lines ) which begins with this
