Most of the people are Pangasinenese. They are hardworking and industrious.

It is a rural and agricultural barangay. Most of the people are farmers. They plant
rice, corn, and vegetables yearly. They also raise pigs, cattle and chickens in their
fishes like tilapia, catfish, shrimp and other fishes as it is located near the creek.

f. HISTORY OF BATANCAOA SOUTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
started with one classroom, Class 1, which was handed by Mr. Pedro Banaag. In
1941, the school offered a complete elementary school curriculum from grade 1 to
grade 6. Fifteen years after a barangay opened another school northbound of that
barangay, the school changed its name to Batangcaoa Old Site Elementary
School.
1990 was a challenging year for the school. Historic earthquakes have been
devastating and have caused enormous damage. The school was slowly working on
building facilities. There have been many changes in the school over the last few
years.
The school currently consists of three buildings: the Marcos Type Building, the
Benson Building, and the Telengtan Building (a two-story building donated by the
private organization Ing. John S. Morales). In 2019, the school gymnasium was built
