I am directed to refer to the pro-people announcement made by

Hon'ble Prime Minister in his address to nation on 07.06.202L as part of the
Economic Response to COVID -19 and to covey that it has been decided to
allocate additional foodgrains, free of cost @ 5 kg per person per month to
nearly 79.75 Crore beneficiaries covered under NFSA (AAY, PHH & DBT) over
and above NFSA allocation, for a period of another three months, i.e October,
2022 to December, 2A22, as per annexure.

2. The lifting period for these above additional foodgrains for October,
2022 and November, 2022 wil! be upto 31s t October, 2022. The validity
period for lifting of the above additional allocation for rest of the months i.e
December, 2A22 will be as per the existing instructions conveyed vide this
Department's letter No.1-212007-BP.lll dated 11.07.2OL4 i.e upto last date of
the month preceding the allocation month. Further, the States/UTs may at
their discretion tift their respective additional allocations in one go also,
earlier subject to availability of stocks with FCI within the State/UT.

3. The above allocation will be in addition to the regular monthly

allocation under NFSA. The States/UTs may provide wide publicity about this
additional allocation so that each and every beneficiary is informed about
their entitlement of free food-grains under PMGKAY Special efforts may also
be made by States/UTs to encourage migrant NFSA beneficiaries to
encourage thern to use the facility of portability under One Nation One Ration
Card(ONORC) plan.

4. The Government of lndia will bear the entire cost on account of such
distribution including food subsidy, intra-state t ra sportation and dealer's
