Storytelling Contest Guidelines and Mechanics 2022

The Quezon City Public Library is holding a storytelling contest on August 30th in partnership with Waltermart – The Junction Place. The contest is open to junior high school students in District 6 of Quezon City. Each school can submit one contestant, who must present an original story. Contestants will be judged on pronunciation, voice, story content, character portrayal, and impact. The top three placements will receive cash prizes and certificates. Interested participants must register online and submit their story by August 12th.

Storytelling Contest @ Quezon City Public Library

in Cooperation with the Waltermart – The Junction Place


August 30, 2022
 

Guidelines and Mechanics:

1. The contest is open to all private and public junior high school of District 6, Quezon City.

2. Each school is allowed to send only one (1) contestant.

3. Appropriate attire with moral and ethical standards is required.

4. All contestants are required to submit a copy of their tale or story to be used in the competition to the contest
committee on or before August 12, 2022 (Friday).

5. Strictly one contestant per dialect (first come first serve for the use of different dialects in the Philippines.)

6. Each contestant is given 5 to 10 minutes for the presentation of the story.

7. Time shall officially start when the contestant utters the first word of the presentation, a penalty of 1-point deduction
every 30 seconds in excess.

8. Judges’ decision is final.

Criteria for judging:


25% - Pronunciation

20% - Voice variations and projection

20% - Content and logical presentation of events

25% - Skills and eliciting emotions and expressions of the character played

10% - Impact

Prizes
1st Placer - Php 5,000.00 and a Certificate of Recognition

2nd Placer - Php 3,000.00 and a Certificate of Recognition

3rd Placer - Php 2,000.00 and a Certificate of Recognition

9. Fill-up the Storytelling Contest Google form to register and submit a copy of your tale or story to be used in the
competition to the contest committee.
