Course Content Students in the Spanish program will develop in-depth content
knowledge about Hispanic cultures, literatures, and linguistics,
as well as advanced skills in the areas of intercultural
competence, critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving,
and language proficiency (speaking, listening, reading, and
writing).
Course Objectives Achieve functional proficiency in listening, speaking, reading,
and writing. Recognize culture-specific perspectives and values
embedded in language behavior. Decode, analyze, and interpret
authentic texts of different genres. Produce organized coherent
discourse in oral and written modes.
Course Outcomes By the end of this course, students will be able to ask and
answer simple questions and hold simple conversations in
present tense.

Evaluation
Specifications of the Exams:
This exam consists of vocabulary, grammar, content and writing
parts. Students are supposed to answer multiple-choice,
matching, fill-in-the-blank and short-answer questions; and
write a paragraph in the writing part.

Alternative Participation (10%)


Assessment Assignment (10%)

Specifications of the Participation:


It does not mean only attending online lessons. It means
volunteering to answer questions, asking for help, speaking up
in small-group activities, completing tasks and doing homework.

Letter
Grades Passing grade is 50.
Attendance ABSENCE IN MORE THAN 30% OF CLASSES
RESULTS IN FF.  (8 class hours)

Each class is counted as a 2-hour lesson


If a student attends half of the lesson, he/she will be marked
as present for 1 hour.
If a student attends less than half of the lesson, he/she will be
marked as ABSENT.
If a student doesn’t open the microphone to answer the
teacher´s questions, he/she will be marked as ABSENT for
that day.

NOTE: Medical excuses, health reports, connection problems,


family issues, part-time jobs or internships ARE NOT
ACCEPTED as an excuse for absence. Students who cannot
attend online classes for any reasons due to the current
pandemic must immediately inform their teacher.

ideas and information.

Reproduction Method: Taking someone else's work directly and showing it as your
own work.
Copying Method: Copying some part of another work directly and adding them to

own text with minor changes.
Mosaic Method: Preparing a new study by combining studies from multiple sources.
Self-Plagiarism: Copying from a work of his / her own that he / she had done before.”
