Cardboard Dream House

This lesson plan teaches students to build 3D cardboard houses. Students will first research different architectural house styles. They will then sketch a blueprint of their dream house and build a model of it out of cardboard, using various cutting and building techniques. The finished sculptures will be painted. VA:Cn10.1.Ia: Document the process of developing ideas from early stages to fully elaborated
ideas.

Lesson Objectives (what will the students do):


Students will reacher different architectural styles of houses.
Students will create thumbnails or blueprints of their house
Students will build their house 3D from cardboard

Learning Targets (what do you want the students to leave with):


Students will investigate different architectural types of homes and then sketch their dream
home. Students will produce a model of their dream home using various cutting and cardboard
building techniques and finish the sculpture with acrylic paint.

Present examples of assignment
Demonstrate how to start their own 3D house.
