Product Benefits
Ingredient Benefit
Taro root is often used in a similar
fashion to a potato, but in fact has
better nutritional qualities than a potato.
It has almost three times the dietary
fiber, which is important for proper
digestive health and regularity. Fiber
can also fill you up and make you feel
less hungry with fewer calories. Taro

HO-CAGE PARTNERSHIP 34
root has a low Glycemic Index, as
opposed to potato which has a high
Glycemic Index. A low GI means that
taro effects blood sugar levels slowly,
without the peaks and crashes of a
high GI, which lead to increased hunger
later on. Eating a diet of low GI foods
can also help prevent diabetes.

The winter melon diet gives you added

nutrition you need to succeed in your
diet while being low in calories. The
healthy benefits of this exotic food often
found in tea and oriental soup. It makes
an excellent complement to any low
calorie diet plan or vegetable soup diet

Sugar is sucrose that becomes

glucose. Glucose is easily regulated by
our body if we eat it regularly. If our
levels are low and we get some
glucose, the body does rush to
consume it. But this is because glucose
is essential for us to live. Glucose is our
energy. It keeps our body sustaining a
regular temperature. Our brain works
using glucose. Without sugar our skin
ages. In fact, without sugar our body
ages faster. Sugar is good for living, for
thinking, and for the regeneration of our
bodies.

HO-CAGE PARTNERSHIP 35
Milk is filled with nine essential
nutrients that benefit our health. It has
calcium that builds healthy bones and
teeth and maintain bone mass. It also
has protein that serves as a source of
energy; builds/repairs muscle, tissue,
potassium which helps maintain bones,
and generates energy, vitamin D that
helps maintain bones, vitamin B12 that
maintain healthy blood cells and nerve
tissue, vitamin A which maintains the
immune system; helps maintain normal
vision and skin, riboflavin (B2) that
converts foods into energy and niacin
that metabolizes sugar and fatty acids.
In other words, milk packs quite a
punch when it comes to nutrition. All of
the
Coffee may be good for liver, and may
help you lose weight. It may lower the
risk of type II diabetes, Alzheimer’s and
Parkinson’s disease. It also may ward
off skin cancer and it might even make
you smarter.

HO-CAGE PARTNERSHIP 36
Chocolate is made from plants, which
means it contains many of the health
benefits of dark vegetables. These
benefits are from flavonoids, which act
as antioxidants protect the body from
aging caused by free radicals, which
can cause damage that leads to heart
disease. Chocolate consumption may
lower the risk of heart failure,
myocardial infraction and mortality from
coronary heart disease.

Cheese is a great source of protein and

calcium. Since protein curbs hunger
and keeps you feeling satisfied after
meals and snacks, cheese can help
you to lose weight. As part of a well-
rounded nutrition plan, the protein in
cheese can slow down the absorption
of carbohydrates eaten at the same
meal or snack and therefore help
balance your blood-sugar levels and

Water ensures that the proper nutrients
are delivered to the body and that food
is digested. Not properly hydrating will
halt the digestion process and the
delivery of nutrients, cause
constipation, and also confuse the

alert thirst. Promoting good digestion is
just one of water’s health benefits that
also doubles as a weight loss trick as
